Mike's Blog Round Up
By Nicole Belle Saturday May 17, 2008 10:00amThe Opinion Mill's Sunday Bookchat: 1968 revisited — "What journalists have forgotten about covering political conventions! What wingnuts need to learn about Winston Churchill! What George F. Will needs to learn about book reviewing!"
Daily Howler: Remember a key rule of "liberal" journalism — praise McCain's honesty and honor, especially while reporting his dishonesty and dishonorable conduct.
Lance Mannion: A key concept of liberalism explained in seven sentences (well, really five, but you'll see).
Tom Dispatch: Changing the world, one camera shot at a time. Myanmar/Burma: Why the U.N. and the U.S. should invade Myanmar (but can't), why we shouldn't, and why such actions shouldn't be taken lightly.
The Neocons: Neither honesty, nor reason, nor shame, shall keep them from their self-appointed rounds of starting another unnecessary war.
Guest roundup by Batocchio. That's it for me for now! Next up is Media Bloodhound. Please send your tips and suggestions to mediabloodhound at yahoo dot com. Thanks!

Real Patriots utilize semiotics
So when and where did the United States go wrong, to become a violent, intolerant, polarized nation that feeds upon itself and others?
Anyone pinpoint the exact time and date?
From Wiki:::
Alleged plot to overthrow FDR
Main article: Business Plot
On July 23, 2007, the BBC Radio 4 series Document reported on the alleged Business Plot and the archives from the McCormack-Dickstein Committee hearings. The program mentioned Bush's directorship of the Hamburg-America Line, a company that the committee investigated for Nazi propaganda activities, and the alleged 1933 attempt, supposedly led by Gerald MacGuire, to stage a military coup against President Franklin D. Roosevelt aimed at forcing Roosevelt to resign (or, failing that, to assassinate him) and at installing a fascist dictatorship in the United States. [11]
So finally bush junior (dumya) finally accomplishes Grand-paps wish's?

Stop another unnecessary illegal war? Good gob man there's profits to be had! What are you thinking!!
I get the feeling that when shrub looks at troop counts he sees $$$. Think of all those shiny yellow ribbon magnets they'll be selling. Someone needs to remind him those come from china.
LA Conf, my replies don't go, but grazie molto mio amico
LA @ #2 I think the final chapter happened when the US supreme court awarded the 2000 election to king george the second.
Things had been going downhill before that but hey I'm a Canadian looking at your country from the other side of the border

Yeah. It's all about "support". Unless support means buying properly armored vehicles, building livable barracks and paying a living wage, providing decent health care, showing proper respect to those who have died and most importantly of all stop using them to illegally occupy a foreign country so a bunch of evil bastards can claim control of their oil.
L.A. Confidential @ 2:
The Declaration of Independance basically shored that one up....but apparently it took quite a few decades for it's citizens to figure out what the world has known since WW2.
Corruption runs like a river over at McCain's Camp:
Former Rep. Thomas G. Loeffler, a Texan who is among the McCain campaign’s most important advisers and fundraisers, has resigned as a national co-chair over lobbying entanglements, a Republican source told Politico on Sunday.
It’s at least the fifth lobbying-related departure from the campaign in a week.
McCain will not release the real reasons these guys had to go. Corruption!
Ask McCain to release his wife's tax returns and connect the dots!
Scary: Congress passed a bill to prevent "homegrown terrorism". The problem is, under their deffinition, "homegrown" could apply to any group critical of the government. So just imagine if you are labeled a terrorist for posting a block critical of the government. You might enjoy the same water games that our enemies in Iraq face. Check out these links.

If we are talking 1968, then lets remember the three murdered students at Orangeburg SC,
plus the twenty seven others maimed and wounded by police bullets there.
Their only crime to be peacefully protesting a segregated bowling alley.
