McCain camp is whining because Andrea Mitchell reported that he was not in the "cone of silence"
By John Amato Sunday Aug 17, 2008 7:00pmThe McCain camp is whining today and attacking NBC and Andrea Mitchell because she had the nerve to make an accurate observation about Rick Warren's forum. Andrea Mitchell said this Meet the Press:
The Obama people must feel that he didn’t do quite as well as they might have wanted to in that context, because that–what they’re putting out privately is that McCain may not have been in the cone of silence and may have had some ability to overhear what the questions were to Obama.
Download | Play (h/t Silent Patriot)
This is completely accurate, but McCain's camp is acting like they are part of the Nation of Whiners:
"The level of objectivity at NBC News has fallen so low that reporters are now giving voice to unsubstantiated, partisan claims in order to undercut John McCain," Davis fumed. "Mitchell did what has become a pattern for her of simply repeating Obama campaign talking points."
During the televised forum broadcast from Saddleback Church in Orange County, Calif., Warren told viewers that McCain would be in a "cone of silence" during the questioning of Obama. Davis confirmed that "McCain was in a motorcade to the event and then held in a green room with no broadcast feed."
Via FOX News---Rick Warren is back pedaling since McCain is obviously his pick for president:
Meanwhile, Warren told FOX News Radio that the allegations that McCain heard Obama's questions ahead of time were "total bogus."
"Cone of silence is a silly term I used from Maxwell Smart," Warren said. "We had him a green room in a totally different building. Somebody said there was a monitor in that room, yeah, but it was disconnected at the source. If he'd tried to turn it on, all he'd have gotten was fuzz, because it wasn't even connected. So the Secret Service picked him up, brought him straight to that room, put him in that building. Somebody is systematically calling up all the media the media and trying to create, I don't know, I guess they didn't like the format or whatever.
So now it's a silly term that he pulled from "Maxwell Smart!" Is he kidding me? This is unbelievable. Why would he mislead the American public like that? I believe McCain was not even in the green room for the first 30inutes of Obama's time. It looks like Warren got caught and has to cover up for Rick Davis and McCain. Nice job, Rick.

That zone of silence is the new undisclosed location? The ability to use stump speeches made all the difference for McAyn.
Come on, haven't we had enough C&L threads on this today. It is a non-issue that
will be forgotten by middle of September, and beside, Rev. Warren has already admitted
that both participants were given most of the questions in advance, so let's move on.
If he was in the limosine with his entourage, he was getting text messages. And they were conveying the questions.
Somebody will, undoubtedly soon, ask him, point blank, did you *see* any of Obama's questions beforehand? Then watch his body language.
Someone needs to investigate Warren very thoroughly. Anyone with a beard like that is a pedophile.
Well America has become a Nation of Whiners. He's just playing to his base.
Could you imagine the outcry if Obama was outside the cone of silence and state he was at the start of Warren's questioning?
Telling lies in a place of worship for votes. Wow.
LOL! Did Andrea finally grow a heart? First she stuck up for Obama. Now she reports about the fraud of the 'Cone of Silence'. What happened to the righty-Andrea? Well, whatever, I'll take any ammunition against McCain anyday of the week.
pheidole @ 3:
The limo has a TV and radio.
Back when I was a kid, your religion didn't matter. Or your lack of religion. In my family, we have Baptists, Catholics, and Methodists, and IT IS NEVER AN ISSUE! Why are people acting like they are about to get thrown into a concentration camp for their beliefs? We live in a country where you can literally live at church. You can watch nothing but Christian TV and listen to Christian radio and read nothing but Christian literature, if you so choose. You have the option of totally isolating yourself from secular society. But that still isn't good enough!
You can pass all the laws you want, but people will still be gay. And people will still have sex. All you can do is live your life the way you think it should be led.
Doggiebobo @ 2:
I agree that it is a non-issue in that I don't really care of he had access to the questions beforehand. However, I have no doubt that he did have access and probably did receive the questions during his 30-minute ride to the event (in a campaign for president of the US, who wouldn't?). What potentially makes it a big deal is if McCain's camp is caught in a lie. Especially since they pulled out the POW card on this one. For that reason, a journalist should ask him on camera if he had ANY knowledge of the questions asked of Senator Obama other than those that Warren provided to them beforehand. Just get McCain himself on the record, that's all.
If anyone really wants to know where McCain was just file a FOIA with the Secret Service.
Doggiebobo @ 2:
Your statement is inaccurate. The candidates each received just two specific questions in advance. McCain, Davis and Warren are caught dead to rights in a lie. You are the one who should move on, or else join McCain in his Zone of Stridence.
Christians lie. Should anyone be surprised?
The religious right-wing base is faltering. They are losing their biggest asset. Their youth. Many young Christians care about the environment, political justice and poverty. These are topics the Repugs have no interest in. Repugs will always cower to big business, regardless of what it will do to the evironment, the poor and the American people. That is a fact.
Gee, we all know that being in a moving car eliminates the ability to use cell phones and Blackberries. I'm sure McC*nt had no idea what the questions were.
MCCAIN: Could I — are we going to get back to the importance of Supreme Court Justices or should I mention –
WARREN: We will get to that.
MCCAIN: OK. All right. OK.
WARREN: You’re jumping ahead…
What’s suspicious here is that the topic of the Supreme Court had not come up in McCain’s interview, so it was not a topic to go “back” to.

exactly
Jiminy Crickets, either he was in a cone of silence or he wasn't. Also, as for Andrea Mitchell being biased, notice how she provides a conjecture on WHY the Obama people are calling Daddy Warbucks on his little cribbing foray, that they must have thought he did poorly. Did the Obama people actually say, "Obama did poorly on that 'All God's Children Are Created Equal, including Jews, Buddhists and Muslims As Long As They Accept Jesus Christ As Their Personal Savior Show Starring that Chubby Gay Cowboy Fella from Saddlebags Mountain', ergo McCain somehow penetrated the Golden Cone of Silence."
BD @ 10:
You and I agree...it's just that when Obama meets McLame during the three scheduled
debates, it will be then(thank god and finally) that those viewing will get to see for the
first time what a total ignoramis McLame is and without his teleprompter and scripted
"stump speech" notes, he will fall flat on his stupid looking face.. Of course this is all
under the assumption that the three moderators of the three debates do their respective jobs and don't permit McLame to do his typical BSing of "my friends" and
use his glorious POW experiences instead of answering the questions posed to both.
I feel that Obama will make McLame look even more ridiculous than he already does
and that McLame will be an embarrassment to the Repug Party. Here's Hoping..
Oh November! Can't you come quicker? You have to save us from all this Bullshit. A religious figure asking policy questions? I think we have enough of that for the lasr eight years!
Bob in PA @ 12:
Where, and give me the source, did you obtain factual info that both participants
received ONLY two questions in advance? That is not what I have seen reported.
Why does Warren wear a devil's goatee? Hmmm, very suspicious.

McGrampa's fleet all limos are all equipped with flat screens....just like a good elitist.
I'm just proud of McPickles that he was able to show up without his man-sitters , Gay Graham and Rumpelstiltskin Lieberman . McCain had to endure a Depends full of compassionate conservatism for nearly two hours until he met with Cindy later that night.
Once upon a time there was a TV talk show who'd put the opposing side in a sound-proof room to prevent them overhearing what was said.
It was the Jerry Springer show.
Warren is obviously in violation of one of the seven deadly sins.
Gluttony.

Besides being senile, an elitist, angry, mentality handicapped, and a surrenderer.....McGrampa is also psychic.
Dr. Hussein Matt @ 28:

harley @ 23:
You seemed to have missed my intended point. When the two are face to face and
are debating, then YOU will see(after the debates) how the people of America feel
about McLame. It will be, I predict, a "walk in the park" for Obama.
harley @ 29:
His psychic abilities allowded him to jump ahead. His first act if elected will be to give winning lotto numbers to all Americans.
Jo @ 17:
I think he looks a bit like Leo McKern as No. 2 on The Prisoner.
These right-wingers only concern is to overturn Roe vs. Wade. The USA could be falling apart (It is). The rich could be richer and the poor getting poorer (They are). The Government could be destoyed(It is). It makes no difference to these nut-jobs. They will saddle enormous debt and devastation to the youth in this country and they don't give a shit! What true Christians!
I have no way of knowing if some how McCain had access to the questions but for centuries teachers have been catching the less clever students in test cheating by being tipped to an unusually good performance by a poor to mediocre student. Warren is obviously a McCain supporter and being a churchie makes him suspect for skullduggery in my book
Has anyone mentioned the fact that this was a pro-McGrampa forum? Come on.....white evangelical voters and hosted by a mega -church freak....and the reich-wing MSM is utterly silent. If this was an event hosted by the ACLU, the MSM would be imploding with fake outrage.
Dr. Hussein Matt @ 32:
His psychic abilities allowded him to jump ahead. His first act if elected will be to give winning lotto numbers to all Americans.
You and I have butted heads in the past but you got a heck of sense of humor.
Winning lotto numbers to all Americans that make $5M or more. That will make up for having to pay 15% fed taxes on their dividends.
Fools respond to a biased audience's responses.
It was a fucking stacked deck.
McStain repeated stupid fucking stump speech lines intended to elicit such responses from people already biased in his favor.
The audience reaction was no indication of the level and thoughtfulness of each candidates responses.
obama should have known the the forum would be rigged.
There's nothing suspicious about McCain saying he wanted to "get back to Supreme Court Justices". It sounded to me like he meant that he would talk about that issue now if they weren't going to come back to the subject any time later in the discussion.
On another note, I find it hard to believe that McCain convinced anyone who wasn't already convinced to vote for him. He sounded scripted and not at all thoughtful, just pushing the buttons that many in the audience wanted to hear. Obama, on the other hand, may have won over many in the live audience who had been hearing nothing but smears against him and thus may have been surprised to discover that he was a thoughtful, reasonable person.

to anybody who is surprised that one of the people who funded the swift boat vet's for "truth" would hold a fair and balanced political event - you should pay more attention and you would have seen this stuff coming from a mile away. I tried to watch with an open mind but I kept hearing right wing non-sense questions, the kind of questions you could answer with pure bullshit - but if you tried to answer them honestly they would be able to paint you as whatever they can to win their election.
The right wing has become the enemy of America and Americans. their only loyalty is to the Corporation and their only god is the all mighty dollar.
C'mon we're talking about Republicans here.
Where theres smoke there's usually fire.
"I was absolutely in the Green Room, without any ability to hear any questions or to hear Senator Obama's answers, from before the beginning of Senator Obama's segment right through past the end. I was completely and absolutely unaware of any of the questions put to him nor did I hear any of his answers, not a single word -- I was kept completely, positively and absolutely unaware. If anyone says otherwise, please have the courage to step forward and state the basis of your false claim and how you think you know it, and have the guts to look me in the eye when you say it and state it directly to me and to all of the American people." If McCain were telling the truth, you would hear him say some variant of the preceding because he would be on rock solid ground. However the ground is getting quite shaky beneath his mendacious feet.
pinkobait @ 48:
any good fire comes with smoke...I agree. But the fact is: Where there's incredible lies, there's Republicans.
I'm sorry, but this is why they always win. If we had a quarter of the balls the Reich wingers do for calling out what they don't like, Kerry would be president right now. We need to grow a pair as a party, or we will face the same voter haberdashery they pulled the last two times because of how close this race will become.
What really makes me angry is how much stuff we have to hit these criminals with, yet here we are, AGAIN, being the nice guys holding back those knock-out punches. We need to purge the entire D.C. establishment providing "aide" to the candidates. Our country cannot handle another Bush in office.

That is question McCain dropped his "bomb" naming all the pro Roe vs Wade judges he would not of nominated. That got the most loudest round of cheering.
P.D. @ 7:
No, she hasn't. I just watched the NBC nightly news, and here's what she said. 1) Obama seemed uncomfortable with the question about when life begins (replaying his "above my pay grade" answer--which, personally, I think is about the best answer he could give, as it references his belief in a supreme being, but doesn't give the wingnuts any ammo about his definition of life--he didn't seem uncomfortable to me, but that's me); 2) Obama's campaign was complaining because McCain wasn't "in the cone of evil (I mean, silence)" when Obama was being questioned--that's true; 3) McCain was in his motorcade during a "portion" of Obama's interview, though the McCain campaign said he wasn't listening to Obama and no one was briefing him; 4) Both men received some of the questions in advance (which is likely how McCain knew about the Supreme Court justice question); 5) McCain was "in his element," as the audience was friendly toward him.
What she *didn't* say was that, basically, the whole thing was a sham since it was not what old Reverend Rick said it would be. That's where I have my beef with Mrs. Greenback.
Oh, and then she said Biden is Obama's likely pick for veep because people are saying so. Case closed. She's still a shitty reporter...and you know who she's voting for. She isn't trying to hide it. I hear Brit Hume's job is open.
StirFry @ 25:
Wrong Graham was in the house.
Ruth @ 1:
^^^
This, right here. McCain used stump rhetoric after stump after stump, and wasn't called on it. When Obama slipped, as is natural, into stump territory, Warren called him on it.
Sire, McCain likely have the questions, as certain answers such as the preemptive "Can we go back to the Supreme Court..." response, indicate he had knowledge of the questions ahead of time. All that amounts to, however, is time he can use to organize his thoughts, and line up the stump statements and stories he has been using for months (or, really, years) in his mind. It is, as Ruth points out, the fact that he wasn't asked to stop with the stump rhetoric that made all the difference in the world. He was given a 100% free pass. Obama had to systematically mentally edit out the automatic stump responses he'd normally give with regards to various lines of questioning, thus the more thoughtful, some say stammering nature of his responses.
The "no stump rhetoric" rule was the trap, not the "cone of silence". That is the meme that needs to be inserted into the mainstream consciousness, not the "cone of silence" meme. McCain was given a free pass, same as always, and was not required to abide by the rules of the forum.

Of course he did. This was all for show. What did Obama want? To make it clear to wingnuts that he's a Christian. That's all. He wasn't hoping to gain anything else--maybe peel off one or two voters who feel out-of-place among the other wingnuts and, in the privacy of the voting booth, decide to go with him because their wife-beater husbands can't see their ballots.
...when you need a cheap assist like that for such a serious job, you don't need THAT job and we don' t need the aggravation.

from this article there is no doubt that Rick Warren is in bed with McCain, figuratively!
Dahgrostab'ph-r-i @ 58:
May-be they hit the men's room first
I hear many people talking about how the debates are going to make such a difference. Does everyone remember the first Kerry/Bush debate? Kerry DESTROYED Bush in that debate. I mean it wasn't even a contest. The next two weren't as big of a deal, but I'm not much of a believer in the whole "just wait until the debates" mentality.

They still have a point about Mitchell being useless. The same for the rest of the media. Not one I have seen so far has done anything but repeat the same statements from both sides, over and over and over. With all kinds of opinoiions on what it may or may not mean depending on what really happened. Not one has done any actual investigation to get the details. What was really agreed by whom? Was this "cone of silence" just a waiting room with a TV supposedly disconnected? Were people allowed in and out during the speech or was McCain supposed to be cutoff from communicating with the outside? Did he have advisers with him in the room also supposedly cutoff? If not what was the security situation? Who provided the enforcement of the rules? Where, definitively, was McCain during Obama's speech? Who was with him if he was on the way in the car? Did he make or receive any calls or texts while in the car? What did he do once he got there? etc, etc, etc.
They are all such friggin' made-up, blow-dried hacks playing journalists on TV.
angryspittle @ 63:
Not to put too fine a point on it, but how about reporters who say, "Bolth" instead of "Both"?
Oh, well, we all make mistakes.
Doggiebobo @ 70:

sorry, but they will do something to level the playing field.
The bad thing is if Obama &co allows them to do it.
I can understand typos.
I make typos all the time.
Of and have, however, are not fucking interchangeable.
Damnit. That is basic.
seriously @ 66:
After watching Kerry kick Bush around the room for three straight debates I am inclined to agree with you. The average American doesn't watch the debates. What they DO see are bumper stickers, hear easy to remember and often titillating talking points, soundbites, 30 second ads often attacking the opponent, and, lest we forget, the great bucket of CRAP they have poured into their ears by cables news.
Ohhhh, MY but McCain doesn't necessarily need as much money as Obama to compete, not when he has the corporate news in his corner. Nothin' but free campaign and face time from his teevee buddies.
McCain doing a live debate, brings to mind images of ebay bridges for sale.
seriously @ 66:
Nor am I. Most people seem to have already made up their minds. The real question--especially as far as the people talking about Diebold are concerned--is turnout. If Democrats and lefties turn out in big numbers, Obama wins. If turnout is more lukewarm, it could easily go to McCain. Even though Republicans aren't crazy about him, he's making all the right noises. They'll vote for him--if they vote. Republicans never break ranks. They may not show up, but they won't vote Democratic.
Bonkers @ 75:
precisely, the MSM will use the few usable McCain snippets to project his 'win'
So McCain has a camp of whiners?
And you know the biggest one whining is Subprime Phil.
angryspittle @ 63:
Maybe you heard a contraction. I use not've, should've etc. Sounds like 'of' but it's not. Now what gets me is is the pronunciation of 'Accessory' (ăk-sĕs'ə-rē) as 'Assessory.' It's not a word, nor is it a pronunciation alternative.

Bonkers @ 75:
True. I hate the "Town Hall Style" debate, where each side tries to sneak a ringer in for their candidate. Obama's camp can't be as lax about the rules as Kerry's was--especially as in the vice-presidential debate, when both men were already seated by the time the cameras came on. If you'd seen Dick Cheney lumbering across the floor, you'd have known he was cryogenically preserved, warmed over, and on his last legs. That would have made some difference to a few people. Why Democrats always agree to the Republicans' rules I'll never understand.
The contraction is correct. But when it is spelled out..."of", well, for some reason that just irks me. My students did that all the time and it drove me nuts.
I would be willing to accept the following though.
W should "of" been shot in his crib.

Thanks for giving me the chance to correct. It was three questions, not two. Source is Katherine Q. Seelye, N.Y. Times on web, 8/18/08.
all mcCheater needed was a cellphone.
that is way too easy.
Let me get this straight. Obama got his ass kicked. He went crying "cheater, cheater" to his totally in the tank press corps and that makes McCain a whiner. Wow, the air must be thin up there on planet Obama to come up with that.
My Letter to Chuck Todd:
So, er, every communication has a sender and a receiver.
Grant, for the sake of the argument, that McCain was the receiver.
Who was the sender?
Did anyone actually believe McCain was in a "cone of silence" anyway? Of course that's a Get Smart term. I use it to tell my family I'm working and will ignore anything they say to me. I certainly expected McCain to not listen to the questions, and I'm giving him the benefit of the doubt on this one. How could he not know that Warren would ask him about abortion and values. I'd have prepared for those questions too!
Johnny @ 89:
Yeah, I like this meme that anti-Obama folk are using lately. The one where anybody who supports Obama is just High On a Feelin' or Oxygen Deprived or on Hopeium. Gut-splittingly hilarious.
As for the "in the tank press corps" bit. Even if Obama has a few people in the press that seem to dig his groove or whatever, McCain and his handlers could write a book on the subject, ok? Gimme a break.
Bob in PA @ 87:
And thank you too for supplying the info as reported in the NYT. Some of the media
is implying that each participant received a broader set of questions in advance, so that
is why I made the inquiry...BUT that is no surprise inasmuch as all of the MSM is full of
itself and will make up stories as they go along.
Johnny @ 89:
Um, no - McCain came out and started answering questions before they were asked. So, those of us with functioning brains wondered if he was listening to them during Obama's session. A perfectly reasonable question.
But as soon as it was asked, McCain's people went into attack the messenger mode. (As described in the above blog post) Unfortunately, they are having difficulty getting that description of "unfounded" to stick.
Like most NeoCon reactionary obedience school valedictorians, you seem to be very good at name-calling and repeating the company line. Also like most of them, you seem to have a hard time making the facts match your rhetoric.
Johnny @ 89:
I do agree as to some doing the whining, but as to Obama getting his ass kicked, that
I do not concur with. I thought he did a much better job of answering the questions
posed than McLame, but then again, it's all in the eyes/ears of the beholder..

To amplify my own question:
lambert strether @ 91:
Assuming the receiver was McCain (or his staff) who would be the sender? It seems to me the obvious answer is Warren (or his staff).
So, why isn't that part of the story? The only answer I can think of is that would get in the way of the political purpose of pandering to the Christianists, which is why Obama went to Saddleback in the first place.
Johnny @ 89:
What did you do, get the redacted version of this discussion from Redstate or Rush Retard instead of actually watching it? I know it's scary when people like Obama use big words you can't understand. You are an opinionated dope, pal, but you Neocons aren't exactly Einsteins.
lex @ 100:
The truth sucks, no? If crybabies like you and Mc Lamo can't win by legitimate means, than cheat. That's the Neocon way. The ends justify the means.
Doggiebobo @ 2:
Agreed. If Obama can go in front of what is probable a Republican-leaning audience and hold his own, he might be able to sway a few of them to actually vote for him come November. Especially since there are many evangelicals who are unhappy with McCain as the GOP nominee. McCain may have to work just as hard, if not harder, to convince some evangelicals to vote for him.

next up w/conegate, it's true! mcCain didn't hear obama's responses. but when he arrived in the green room his speechwriters who had been following closely handed him prepared answers to memorize. they also fitted him w/an earpiece in case his mind wandered off.
To clarify, Warren and McCheating must be accountable in the sham that they perpetrated last Saturday night.
Liar, liar, pants on fire. Not the first time McCain's pants have been on fire. Go Cindy!
Got to keep your sense of humor right McNutjob
so if mcmuffin loses the electoral vote 284 to 253, will he say "missed it by that much"?
it was said they did a coin toss to see who would be first. If mcsane was in his limo during part of obama's interview, were we going to have to wait a half hour while he was stuck in traffic?
something stinks of more lies.
P.D. @ 34:
Yup.
The right wingers only want women to make lots of babies so they will grow up to be uneducated NeoCon goose-steppers.
Their probably already knitting brown shirts for all their kids.
On a tangent, Rupert Murdock is aiding china in beaming unending propaganda and fake news to its citizens.
It almost seems as if he's putting his money in with China (who we are in massive debt to) so they can take over this country.
Do not give any money to ANY company that Rupert Murdock heads. He is working against America!
It's also important to note that he's been working hard to help the NeoCons. That should say a lot.
The NeoCons don't give a damn about the United States. They want to see it crash and burn, and turn into a fascist state.
The people at Fox (owned by Murdock) are very, very, evil men and women. I'm starting to think they hate this country, and anyone who has free will, or a mind to think with.
It should be pretty easy and obvious equation, yet so many people can't seem to add 2 and 2 together.
Where the hell is MyCane? My feet are killing me.
this is really disgusting, when we catch a minister in a ball faced lie and then McCain with his nasty ugly, lying ass, when asked how it was inside the so called cone, he had the nerve to joke that he had his big, pasty head against the wall, listening.
He was not truthful himself, because at that time the door was open for him to say he was not in the cone, but stuck in traffic or what ever else he was doing, while listening to the religious lying ass bastard drill Obama with questions, we now learn most of which were not even asked.
That is another lie, he told when he said that he gave the candidates a heads up on the questions that would be asked.
This was just an all out scam and these people need to be shame of themselves, the way they have just made a dame circus out of our political process. But I know they are not, and the sad thing is that they will continue full speed ahead with this smut.
My heart goes out to Obama, with the bull shit he is up against. It's like he has the entire political, corporate, national media goons and the right wing gang all at the same time in his face and it is so difficult for us to help him, with all the dame power these ass holes have.
I can just imagine what people all over the world are saying as they watch this crap in pure horror, and disgust.
It's not "lying"..... if you're a man of god.
it's not bigotry and hatred....... if you're a man of god.
it's not scientific ignorance ........ if you're a man of god.
This Davis guy is laughable. Glad he is working for Gramps.
Noticed you have plenty of whining about what threads are "worthy" of being run here, though. If I am not interested in a thread I simply move on to the next one, or move on to another blog altogether.
Just glad there is a site that watches all of these dimwits so that I don't have to.
The only way for John McCain to win in an intellectual contest with Barack Obama is for John McCain to stack the deck in John McCain's favor. That is why John McCain wanted the debate format to be in a town hall meeting environment, so that he could salt the audience with political shills.
In any debate situation McCain should be searched for hidden receivers. Don't forget the box shaped receiver that was placed between George Bush's shoulder blades so that Karl Rove could feed him answers during his debates with John Kerry.
Maybe it's me, but the bigger issue is why a religious "leader" gets to interview presidential candidates on CNN at all, no matter who was in the cone of whatever. It has never been explained to my satisfaction why a candidate's "faith" (or even lack of it) is a matter in deciding who would best lead the nation/state/city/county/school board/dog catching unit. It's very disconcerting to me that we are giving Rick Warren, or any other church leader, this kind of power over the national conversation.
This is such a non-issue. Seriously. Who the hell cares? It makes the Dems seem just as whiny as the Republicans.
Folks, this is nothing. But just watch for radios at the debates.
Least we not forget that Obama is going to take a massive dump on McCain at each of the debates. Get a keg, some popcorn, and some friends 'cos it is going to be good.
Like Game 7 of the 2004 ALCS good.
"During the televised forum broadcast from Saddleback Church in Orange County, Calif., Warren told viewers that McCain would be in a “cone of silence” during the questioning of Obama. Davis confirmed that “McCain was in a motorcade to the event and then held in a green room with no broadcast feed.”
At first wash it looks like a non-issue but if you consider the way McCain historically has not been very articulate regarding off-the-cuff remarks on a fairly consistent basis, I would say that it really does look like he was cued in exactly how to respond to the questions that were posed at this so-called debate.
Well, so much for the fair and balanced perspective of the religious right.
Still baffled that this had to take place in the first place.
Did "we" really mean what we said about religious freedom when this country was founded? Not really... Look at history and you see infighting, back-biting and insurrection between factions of "Christian" groups, competing for control. If they weren't smacking each other down for control amongst themselves, they were for certain trying to convert those who weren't Christian. This has been going on for a long time, and is still going on... and I think this Saddleback caca de Toro is the same.
If they talked more about the concepts of freedom, peace, feeding the poor, ie..real christian issues, I would be more optimistic. Yet SO much time is spent on pro-life/choice, etc. ie the "stock" wedge issues that don't mean anything, I feel like this is just Groundhog Day. A sure path to insanity is repeating this time and again, waiting for a different result. My brothers are still in needless danger in the middle east and we are debating when life begins...WHY CANT WE RESPECT THE LIFE THAT IS HERE AS WELL?
How and when are we going to grow past this?

Think about it folks, he usually acts like Abe Grampa Simpson.

McAnus and Co behave like hemorroids--a pain in the ass.
They stretch the truth and whine about it when they are caught lieing and cheating.
How old are you people posting on here? I can't believe most of you are in denial or just blinded by rhetoric. This is a non issue, so much for change.
Same old politics from BHO campaign and MSM. This site is funny with people as clueless or closed minded about these two candidates.
Just because I don't like BHO doesn't mean a JM supporter.
Open your eyes and mind people.
It doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out that McShame had half a dozen or more ways he could have been fed the answers in that ludicrous monster suck up to the religious right. One doesn't even have to consider legerdemain practiced by stage acts (think of the cult movie, Nightmare Alley, where Tyrone Power receives "code" from a confederate as she moves through the audience). No, today's methods are far more sophisticated. Did you notice that remote listening device (RLD) in McShame's ear during the interview by that fool Rick Warren? Oh, uh, no, I'm sorry, that isn't an RLD, it's a hearing aid.
I'm with vato: you people need to start *thinking*. Hilarious!! I love to see the banter back and forth from libbies/lefties and connies/righties - You are both so predictable at every turn.
These two candidates are such a disappointment on so many fronts, it boggles the mind. This is a choice about the lesser of two evils - both are going to screw this country up, it's just a matter of degree. I suggest you all really EDUCATE yourselves on the issues at hand, the issue we possibly face, the records of both of these men and the VP candidates they choose, and come up with your own answers.
Personal slights against either men are just childish and pointless. Some of you need to grow up and try to understand what is really at stake here.
