Sunday Morning Bobblehead Thread

Getty Images' Preview of the Democratic National Convention in Denver
While all eyes (and some of our C&L bodies--Hi Amato!) turn to Denver, the bobbleheads that populate the Sunday airwaves will need to pontificate on every aspect of Barack Obama's upcoming nomination as the Democratic candidate for President, including--most obviously--his choice of Joe Biden as running mate. Let's see how close to verbatim they get to AP's concern troll...er, Washington Chief Ron Fournier's article yesterday. Actually, is there any way to do a forensic search of Karl Rove's fax machine to see if the article originated there?
ABC's "This Week" - David Axelrod, Obama campaign senior adviser; former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani.
CBS' "Face the Nation" - Govs. Kathleen Sebelius, D-Kan., and Ed Rendell, D-Pa.; Rep. Jesse Jackson Jr., D-Ill.
NBC's "Meet the Press" - Caroline Kennedy, co-chair, Obama's vice presidential search committee; House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif.
CNN's "Late Edition" - Sen. Bob Casey, D-Pa.; Gov. Janet Napolitano, D-Ariz.; Sen. Jack Reed, D-R.I.; Rep. James Clyburn, D-S.C.; Terry McAuliffe, Clinton campaign chairman.
"Fox News Sunday" - Govs. Tim Kaine, D-Va., and Bill Ritter, D-Colo.; Robert Gibbs, Obama campaign spokesman.
"Chris Matthews Show" - Panel: Rick Stengel, Katty Kay, Michelle Cottle, Ron Allen. Topics: Will Obama's new running mate prove to be a winning pick? Are the Clintons doing enough to help ensure Obama wins?
C-Span - Sunday Schedule - CSpan1 is all DNC/all day long. BookTV has Fire Breathing Liberal's Rep. Robert Wexler, Obamanation hack Jerome Corsi, The Wrecking Crew's Thomas Frank and Promises to Keep's Joe Biden all scheduled to discuss their books.
So what's catching your eye this morning?

hi
I'm betting a least one of the shows will have some PUMA moron on, blathering about Hillary was "slighted". Best bet: Fox.
Why not Hilary for VP?
Because, if Obama won, it would be the first instance of a seated VP running against an incumbent in a primary in 2012.
Goodnight Clintons.
Obama/Biden... Change you can belive in the same old bullshit
". . . are the Clintons doing enough to help ensure Obama wins?" should be restated, "Is McCain doing and saying enough to make sure he loses?" The straight talk express has jumped the rails and has lost its way. I think Rove really has his hands full trying to sell America the nut-filled turd that is McCain.
What "catches my eye" is the fact that CHRIS (spittle) Matthews can't seem to let go of THE CLINTONS..like Rush Limpballs (who built his career on them) that seems to be the story that defines him. I wish I knew what they did to HURT that old Pennsylvania boy (shame he claims my birthplace as his). Must say that listening to WIlliam Kennard on C-Span yesterday (former chairman of FCC, I believe) speaking about Obama's position of media consolidation has brought me FIRMLY on board, finally, to the Obama campaign...that has long been my one BIG problem with Clinton...what the media mergers have done to DESTROY the intent of a FREE PRESS in this country...critical to our continuing progress!
Take a break from politics and watch the F1 European Grand Prix on SPEED right now. Great stuff.
But back to politics, I think I might actually watch Fox News Sunday. I want to see how the Obama campaign is explaining its seemingly solid VP choice.
I'm feeling ragged this morning. I think I'll jump in the pool.
Ron Fournier Strikes Again!
This time the AP reports that "Clinton supporters are divided over Biden" by citing rabidly anti-Obama conspiracy theorists who believe in the white tape and think Obama is a native Kenyan with a fake birth certificate. No poll, no hard data is provided to back up this assertion, just the ramblings of a GOP media operation consisting of a bunch of self-promoting fake Democrats.
BTW...down the line is a comment in one of the threads that illustrates something that makes me NUTS (and it's being done on "our" side)...I listened to the interaction when the McShame "100 years in Iraq" comment was made and he didn't ADVOCATE for that...he merely reaponded to a question with words to the fact that he could support that if necessary (a fine point perhaps but a little like the flap over "the draft" where a response to a LONG question was made and lifted to make the point that he "favored a draft")...I hate when they do it and I don't like it any better when we do...we shouldn't have to...there is plenty out there that is truthful and hurtful that can and SHOULD be used...I'd feel so much more validated in my choice if I saw that happening...
Why watch Corsi when you can see Obama himself on C-Span Book TV (C-Span 2) this afternoon from a few years ago discussing Dreams from My Father and The Audacity of Hope?
Sally @ 11:
Thom Hartmann had Corsi on his show Friday.
He found every Internet rumor about Corsi and forced him to deny them on-air. (Not) surprisingly, Corsi never picked up on the point. Too funny.
ABC: Noun Verb 911
CBS: Schieffer asks all the stupid questions he can about Barack and Biden as POWs
NBC: Brokaw asks if Barack and Joe are 'electable' if they have never sat next to you in a bar.
CNN: Let's keep the divisive theme running. "How come Hillary wasn't picked?"
FUX: "Hey Gibbs! How come you guys didn't pick Mr.Kaine here?"
CMS: Let's combine as many techniques as possible to undermine the candidates and their positions.
Mugsy @ 12:
is the hartman audio available?
Tom (Not Tom) @ 2:
I've read a lot stuff by neo-con concern trolls that by not choosing Sen. Clinton, Obama is losing the women vote.
I have to laugh at the utter ridiculousness of it. Apparently they believe these fictional women are going to be so upset about Obama not choosing a woman that they are going to flock to the guy who kicked his first wife to the curb when her hotness was robbed in an accident and referred to his second wife as a c*nt.
That's not just a laugh at you moment, it's a point and laugh.

Only to "AAR Premium" subscribers. :(
Corsi also got convicted for Child Pornography.
Dancer @ 10:
you are referring to CONCERN TROLLS. Unfortunately, Rushbots have been perfecting their disguises. Sometimes they appear to be to be concern trolls or hillbots.
Mugsy @ 16:
thanks!
I would hae been a subscriber, but they kept cutting the shows I liked. I'm down to Rachel Maddow and for how long I don't know, since she got that show on MSNBC.
Tim in Japan @ 15:
Over on DU, there's a link to the latest McCain ad criticizing Obama for not picking Hillary, playing several of her negative comments about Obama.
And still, the PUMA's can't figure out why she wasn't picked. Maybe to avoid months of ads like that one of Obama's own VP pick undermining him.
I reckon Obama should have rolled-out Biden on Wednesday. It's gonna be 2 weeks until they hit the campaign trail. I need my BIDEN fix.
Actually, I really hope both of them go on the late night talkshows during the Republican Convention. McCain will be on Leno opening night.
Chris @ 17:
you're kidding!
How sad would it be to ACTUALLY believe anything El Douchebo and Hackity say every day, these people are SAD.
PorridgeGun @ 21:
I'll channel Biden for you:
McCain = noun + verb + POW
Chris @ 23:
And numerous, too!
Fox News now slamming Biden and calling it a sexist remark for him to introduce his own wife as "drop dead gorgeous". This from the propaganda channel that only hires good looking women with long hair.
But I'm sure Joe also intended the comment to be a slight to Hillary. Has anyone ever commented on HER good looks?
Obama/Biden, you have MY permission to take any and all opportunities to slam your slime ball opponents. They deserve it and we, your supporters expect it!
I think Obama's introduction of Joe Biden as, "the next president" was a deliberate gaffe by Obama. Did you notice that he gave no body language whatsoever that it was mistake. He may be letting us know that actually we will be getting two for one. TWO presidents and TWO vp's. A unique idea. Definite change. And nothing wrong with it.
Also, I think these two shrewd politicians are going to take full advantage of making deliberate gaffes. Soon nothing will be what the republicans call a gaffe and they won't be able to capitalize on it.
Fox poll: "ONLY 52% of Hillary voters are going to support Obama. 21% for McCain. 27% Undecided."
I recommend Fox "do the math". That's not a huge number.
CoIntelPro for Pronktastic Victory Over SCLM, DIEBOLD, ESS and SEQUOIA! @ 22:
Corsi denied ever even being arrested, in his interview with Hartmann.
What's catching my eye this morning on everyone single one of these shows? The fact that a campaign can post an attack ad on YouTube for just about nothing, and then every major network and cable network reports and replays it as "news" giving the campaigns millions of dollars worth of free advertising. When did this become legal? And if it is legal, should it be?
In his interview with FnS, Kaine tells Wallace (regarding not choosing Hillary) that "not being picked isn't a criticism."
From one who knows, obviously.
Wallace reading Biden quotes: "After Obama voted against funding for the troops, Joe Biden said..."
I'm laughing at how pathetic Fox news and others are parsing every word Biden has said and will say. The RNC has a gaffe clock up counting how long it will be between Biden's gaffes. (google it if you don't believe me) How's that for irony?
Good morning everyone! Cinnamon/raisin bagels for everyone and hot coffee too. Dig in!
New ad by the Meh-Cain camp that plays the Pumas

Brit Hume: Biden "is a genuinely nice guy" after retelling his own conversations with him.
Floridiot @ 35:
They can't find enough bad about Biden so instead they are hammering, Why not Hillary?
WTF? The decisions have been made for our presidential and vice presidential nominee. Time to move past the past and set our sights on the future. Anyone who is miffed and wants to vote for McCain, more power to them, but they are going to have to live under a McCain rule just the way the rest of us will. That seems a hell of a step to take knowing full well everyone will suffer as a result.
Tom Brokaw is a tool. This entire Meet the Press has just been anti-Obama/Biden. Nothing but criticism. Barely brushing against the latest McCain out-of-touch deal. Mentioning that in passing at best. I'm really scared for our country because there shouldn't even be a doubt that Obama will win but he totally might lose because of our idiot electorate.
Kristol says "Hillary is eminently more qualified than Joe Biden to be Vice President" and suggests, not nominating Hillary for Prez at the convention, but a roll call of Hillary challenging Biden for VP.
Mugsy @ 37:
Kristol (tongue in cheek?) recommended McCain pick Hillary as his running mate?
Any more questions why Hillary wasn't picked?
The FEAR is palpable, Brit just contradicted himself twice in one sentence. If you want to know if Biden was the right pick, Fox just spent a whole hour trying to smear him, they are shivering in thier knee-high stilleto boots!!! Nice, try to top 80,000 in Denver-Losers!!!!!!!!!
Floridiot @ 35:
Huh. Despite the note, it appears they just ignored AAR's request. :)
Good to know.
"Corsi denied ever even being arrested, in his interview with Hartmann"
and this is the FIRST TIME he has told the truth??????????
I'll be listening to every word of Obama's speech -- but also admiring his impeccable taste in clothing (this has a lot to do with his appeal in Europe too). He's a sharp, sharp dresser. I'm sure he and Michelle will look stunning at the Inaugural Ball.
.....Fox just spent a whole hour trying to smear him, they are shivering in thier knee-high stilleto boots!!! Nice, try to top 80,000 in Denver-Losers!!!!!!!!!.....
They haven't heard anything yet. Wait til Biden starts ripping the Bush Administration inside and out. It's going to be wicked! I can't wait to hear it.
Watched the MTP fiasco.
Of course, RNC talking pointman Tom Brokaw put Caroline Kennedy on the spot with the old clip of Biden dogging Obama for his lack of experience that the McCain campaign has been using. Kennedy didn't give the obvious answer.
Remember how Bush Sr. shit on Reagan and belittled his ecomonic plan as "voodo economics?" Well, in 1980 Reagan won didn't he?
Time again to pretend that we have a functioning democracy and that the duopoly of the Republicrats serves the interest of the American people. In any way, shape or form.
Dream on peasants!
On MTP, Pelosi missed a great oppertunity to hammer Brokaw.
Tom the Tool asked, "Since 'objective observers' all agree the Surge was a sucess, why can't Democrats admit the truth?"
Why didn't Pelosi retort, "And, just who are these 'objective observers,' Tom?"
"Do you mean the chattering class of pundits and talking heads of Corporate Media? People like you Tom?"
Did Chris Matthews make a Nazi analogy in regards to Obama speaking in Mile High Stadium...? He said something like "how does he not let that appear like a Berlin situation" or something... I'm really baffled right now so if I'm wrong, disregard this.
Wolf and John King are REALLY pushing their Republican talking points. They're even playing soundbites from Rush and new attack ads from the McCain campaign. That's nice.
Cap Jones @ 50:
What a shocker. Nancy "Worse than Denny Hastert" Pelosi didn't hit back.
Another GOP talking point from Wolf and King. That's 5 in the last 10 minutes.
Lets take the same HAMMER we are going to bash the CON's with and take it to the media too!
.......Kristol says “Hillary is eminently more qualified than Joe Biden to be Vice President” and suggests, not nominating Hillary for Prez at the convention, but a roll call of Hillary challenging Biden for VP.......
Awwww, poor Kristol. He knows Hillary can't rip the Bush Administration to shreds the way Biden can. Watch it happen, people. By election day Biden will have imprinted Bush Administration incompetence into your brains -- just like Weapons of Mass Destruction.
like Ricky from "The Trailer Park Boys" says....let's get two birds stoned at once"!!
So far, the MSM are obsessed with Hillary and negativity. They're putting the DEMS on the defensive. I bet next week everything is hunky dory at the GOP Convention, and they'll no doubt allow the Rethugs to attack Obama.
And it doesn't help having CARVILLE whining about not vetting Hillary. WTF?!? She's the most vetted woman in American politics, you knob!
pissed off patricia @ 33:
Good morning to you Patricia. How's the weather in your area. Fay has left her mark here but the water she brought is much needed.
Carville's "Wife" published that POS by that POS Corsi, it's time to kick him to the curb.
JOHN KING, you ARE a technological TOOL.
OH NO!!! Howie Kurtz.
Saint Augustine @ 58:
I've been thinking about you and wondering how you were doing. It's so good to hear from you again. We're drying out after our foot of rain. Fortunately my area is high and doesn't flood. Many more around here were not so lucky. Yesterday was the first day since last Monday where we had more sunshine than rain.
The special about Helen Thomas is on HBO right now. It's titled, " Thank You Mr President".
For those of you who get HBO. You might enjoy this show.
Anonymous Source @ 51:
I think he was talking about the large crowd that turned out in Germany to see Obama. The big "celebrity" deal.
Matthews was just saying things to hear himself talk.
DID THEY JUST PLAY THE POW CARD (on MTP) IN DEFENSE OF McCAIN OVER BIDEN'S "7 TABLES" COMMENT???
{ CAPS MUGSY, CAPS. SITEMONITOR}
Anonymous Source @ 39:
The Sunday beltway pundits have mainly read the scripts of their less progressive corporate handlers. It's pretty sickening, one can only handle small doses of these programs
I would recommend Fareed Zakaria's "GPS" which is a world affairs show. It is quite good. It doesn't really fit into the other shows which are domestic politics and policy with a little xenophobic foreign affairs thrown in if it affect domestic politics.
Which is why I recommend it, I suppose. It is refreshing. Seems like it would be more at home on PBS or BBC.
pissed off patricia @ 64:
Matthews never lets good airtime go unused
MSNBC is piping out that new McCain attack ad targeting the disgruntled Hillers (4x so far). Wow..is there a big giant barbecue party at McCain's place and we weren't invited?
Mugsy @ 65:
Yep, when asked by Couric how many homes he had, McCain himself played it when he said for five and a half years he didn't have a home or a kitchen table. How low can he go in the POW limbo?
Wolf Blitzer still hammering on Hillary.
McCain knows he could only win if Hillary was on Obama's ticket.
You see, McCain doesn't have an goods on Joe Biden. But Joe Biden has plenty of goods on George Bush!
More free ad time for the McCain campain, courtesy of Wolf.....Rezko this time. Funny how McCain makes a huge gaffe, yet the media run McCain's ads. hmmm.
Gloria Borger is a bitch. Other than Jack Cafferty, I can't stand any of CNN's "Best Political Team".
Jack Cafferty and Suzanne Malveaux.
........Yep, when asked by Couric how many homes he had, McCain himself played it when he said for five and a half years he didn’t have a home or a kitchen table.......
Oooooohhhhhhh, I bet thousands of homeless people in America can identify with that statement!
A segue from George Will to Cokie Roberts left only Mark Halperin and Donna Brazile to challenge their assertions, which was merely to sit there while those two cluck as the all knowing pundits.
The good news is these doubts they raised about Obama were only mildly irritating. Nothing stuck. Clearly there is the excitement around Obama that even the doubters are feeling. Shmokie praised Biden with obvious affection. Nothing real interesting, but I'll agree with Cokie at wondering how the Repubs think they can try and split the Democratic base by going after the Hillary camp.
Uh....not gonna work.
pissed off patricia @ 70:
Yeesh!
That must have been what Chuck Todd was referring to ("for five years McCain didn't know where is next meal was coming from, let alone what table it'd be on."
Seems the Hillary people don't feel Obama has done enough for them to win them over.
Well he hasn't kissed my ass either but I'm going to vote for him. This stuff is getting old and tiresome. Either they vote for him or they don't and I don't think I'm alone when I say I am tired of hearing about it.
Centrocitta @ 74:
If McCain and Mitt combine the number of homes they each have, they could probably trade them in for several hotels. Isn't that the way the game is played?
Link to Hartmann's interview with Corsi:
http://www.whiterosesociety.org/content/hartmann/HartmannShow-(22-8-2008)b.mp3
All this talk about campaign commercials the Sunday talkies run the more virulent anti-Obama ads from the McCain campaign, acting as Rovian surrogates
I'll try again with a tinyurl since that one didn't create a proper link...
Link to Hartmann's interview with Corsi:
http://tinyurl.com/4zbod8
(First hour is with Bernie Sanders, second, with Corsi)
Actually, all the Repugs are disapointed about Hill not being on the ticket. Look at all the material they could have recycled! What will the poor babies do without the Monica jokes and the number of dead bodies the Clintons reportedly left back in Arkansas? No segments on "Did Hillary kill Vince Foster?" or "What kind of woman would stay with Bill after what he did? Do we really want Bill back in the White House banging the interns?"
No wonder Biden has them so pissed! They have to come up with all new lies.
Wolf is a scumbag. He played Biden's "clean" comment for Jim Clyburm (black man) to comment.
Oh, but wait, Wolf just said "lets move on." NOW they're back on Hillary with Gloria assisting....and oil drilling.
Wolf: "We're gonna get a different perspective with Republican Tim Pawlenty."
So what was the first hour+ about?
This has been pretty despicable from CNN. Bunch of arseholes.
Wolf: "The Republicans aren't sitting silently."
Ain't that the truth, you GOP talking point spouting whore!
Steph-O brought up the "rain chances" for Obama's speech (remembering those "praying for rain").
I've noted before: "If it DOESN'T rain, does that mean God WANT's Obama to win?" And now, with a 30% chance of rain, if it doesn't rain, does that mean God *actively* made sure Obama had good weather? :)
Cap Jones @ 82:
Exactly! Their mouths were watering for some more Clinton trash to chew on and now it's been denied them. I think it was Keith who said yesterday, are the repubs sure they want to bring up the accusation that Biden plagiarized someone back in the 80s because that was the same time period of the Keating Five investigation that McCain was tied too.
Mugsy @ 85:
When Steph asked that question, what happens if it rains, I wanted Axelrod to say, We'll get wet.
Unbelievable. Even a weakling like Pawlenty is better at pushing back than Democrats.
Did I mention how glad I am that Obama picked Biden?
78 -- Pissed Off Patricia said, If McCain and Mitt combine the number of homes they each have, they could probably trade them in for several hotels. Isn’t that the way the game is played?.......
Yes, indeed Patricia. That is the way their game is played.
Accordingly, I am very happy with the manner in which the Obama campaign has conducted it's strategy so far. Wolf Blitzer just interviewed Pawlenty, a potential McCain VP pick. When asked if he would be ready to debate Joe Biden, he gave a little laugh and you could see his adam's apple bob up and down.
Can't wait for the debates.
pissed off patricia @ 87:
I don't trust Axelrod. He's responsible for not hitting back during those 2 weeks following the World Tour. If he had his way, Tom Daschle would be VP.
PorridgeGun @ 90:
I totally trust anyone who can run a campaign for a little known candidate and basically beat both Clintons at once. I think he knows what he's doing.
Why do the DNC insist on these elaborate convention podiums?
I hope Invesco is simplified and easy on the eyes.
Centrocitta @ 89:
There was probably a little damp spot in the chair after Pawlenty left. I imagine all of the potential repub. veep choices are peeing in their pants just thinking about what Biden will do to them in a debate.
pissed off patricia @ 91:
Sure, the campaign are great at organising events. But even I could ride a candidate like Obama to the finish line. I'd have him 20 pts ahead by now.
Shut that Hillary pushing San Francisco moron up, please.
The McCain response ad to the "seven houses" ad is too funny. Think about it:
The "elitists" Obama, who owns a "million dollar mansion", couldn't afford to buy it without Rezco's help?
All the talk shows this morning were trying to top FOX in Obama bashing. Tom Brokaw was a real peice of work this morning with Nancy Pelosi. Looks like I'm going to have to stop watching T.V. at all.
I believe the press has decided that McCain has to win and are going to make sure he does. I feel very bad about Obamas' chances now.
PorridgeGun @ 92:
The DNC podium is an inverted trapazoid with illuminated edging about 4" wide. Not great, but acceptable compared to Bush's "subtle crucifix" podium face of 2004.
Boy Brit Hume looks ******* terrible on High Defintion TV. These Pundits are such idiots. Mark Halperin and his little Cartoonish column in Time Magazine is idiotic. Halperin attacks Obama for attacking McCain's Houses. Like the View's Elisabeth Hasselbeck he says Let's Talk Rezko, Let's Talk Wright, Let's talk Ayers. BORING
I was watching Ghooliani on Stepanopoulos who reminds me of what many others also claim.
Ghooli says that Hillary had about 50% of Democrats and Obama had about 50%, that's why Obama should have picked Hillary. Others have referenced 14,000,000 Hillary voters, blah, blah, blah ...
But how do they compute that?
Seems to me more like Hillary has 98% of the Democratic vote and so does Obama. The missing 2% from Hillary are those racists who just will not vote for a black persson, and the 2% missing from Obama's are those misogynists who just will not vote for a woman.
All whom I asked will vote Democratic, some would have preferred Obama, others Hillary, but they definitely will not vote for McAncient
I can't believe how the MSM frames stuff. John King gave the lowdown on what the Republicans are gonna be doing during the Dem convention. He said one of the things would be painting Obama/Biden as pulling the party to the left. King said Obama/Biden will out to prove otherwise. As if moving the party to the left would be a bad thing.
BINGO!!! There's that Biden debate clip again. Cheers, Wolf!
And yet more free airtime for another McCain attack ad. This time, "Celebrity".....10 minutes after Howie Kurtz asked if the media should be doing this, no less.
Back to Hillary again with all the juicy details of conversations between Obama and the Clintons.
BREAKING NEWS!!!
The Election is a referendum on BARACK OBAMA. He should be 20 pts ahead. Oh wait, 10 seconds later they just contradicted themselves by saying he should 8 or 9.
Okay, they're correct about that last part, but they're still morons.
According to John King, BIDEN is left of centre.
Will he say that Mtt Romney supports abortion next week.
More Hillary concern trolling from MCain fanboy King. If I was a Hillary supporter who's still on the fence, I'd be insulted by these mainstream mediots. What are they gonna say if those alleged 20% deadenders gets off the fence. Obama's got a white McCain supporter problem?
So can someone tell me how much the McCain campaign owes all the networks for the free air time they provided McCain by airing that same attack ad over and over and over again today? Like I said in #30, why is this news? Seems to be just another example of a loophole in election reform.
I've come to the conclusion that the Republicans and Democrats are like to two faces of America. Repubs are gun-ho rednecks willing to do anything to make a buck, and the Dems are a bunch of wussies willing to make a profit so long as the outcome doesn't hurt them in the long run.
In other words, Republicans are Klingons and Democrats are Cardassians...
CNN theme of the day: Hillary, 20% deadenders, Biden's past comments, and free airtime for McCain attack ads.
Oh for fuck's sake, they're now saying Obama and Hillary don't like each other, Obama should have consulted the Clintons on his VP selection, and cleared her debt. Will it ever end?
Obama and Biden better attack McCain (his running mate), Bush, Cheney, Giuliani and Lieberman for the next 2 weeks. The MSM are playing into the Republicans hands, and have teed them up for an unprecented attack on Obama at the GOP convention. The attacks on Kerry will be nothing compared to what they'll do to Obama. Rev. Wright, Ayers and Infanticide will be thrown at him on national television. Theyll even go with subtle racism to rally the conservative nutbase.
Also, if the MSM's behaviour today is any indication, they'll let them get away with it. It's up to Obama and Biden to hit back HARD, regardless of whether they're 12 pts ahead after the convention. They'll need a war room, a rapid response team, a shitload of surrogates and attacks ads ready to go on the air opening night of the Repubican convention.
Otherwise they'll be 12 pts behind, like Kerry was 4 years ago.
Vomit. I am so glad we don't watch television.

I saw someone remarking about a "Paul v. Clinton" lawsuit somewhere and googled it. It seems that some guy was conned out of more than a million dollars, after volunteering to contribute about $150,000 to Bill/Hillary, by some Bill handler, who kept telling him that if he gave just a little bit more, Bill would promote his company, (Stan Lee Inc. or some such). If he stopped giving money, Bill would not help after many promises all along. The guy went in way over his head, and Bill never did promote the company, after many promises.
This is public record and I'm sure the Repubs were just drooling, waiting for Obama to pick Hillary so they could jump all over it. The lawsuit makes Bill and Hillary, but especially Bill, look like a couple of grifters. A number of celebrities were aware of this guy's contributions to Bill, including Streisand et al.
My guess is, sooner or later this will become an ugly mess. According to the lawsuit, it sounds like the guy was just a dumb sucker who was soon relieved of his money. In any case, bad publicity all around. Also, apparently Bill has been involved with some good-looking, blonde, Canadian millionare for a couple of years. I suppose the Repubs would have got that too. Bill is a loose cannon. I can't blame Obama for wanting to stay away from that mess. Too bad the PUMAs don't want to face reality.
Also, regarding Paul v. Clinton, Paul later claimed that he found out that Bill/Hillary only reported a $2000 contribution from him to the IRS. The other $million + they didn't report. I can imagine what McSmear would do with that - he would be like a kid in a candy store.
