The last we saw of Steven Seagal, he was using a tank to arrest a single, unarmed man in Arizona who allegedly was promoting cockfighting for his A&E reality show. Now the fake lawman--with the help of Sheriff Joe Arpaio--is thinking on moving up to a higher position.

The last we saw of portly ex-action figure Steven Seagal, he was driving a tank through a house with Sheriff Joe Arapio to take down a possible perpetrator of cockfighting and which resulted in a thousand chickens being euthanized.

Sheriff Joe Arpaio rolled out the tanks to take down a man suspected of cockfighting. West Valley residents in the neighborhood are crying foul after armored vehicles, including a tank, rolled into their neighborhood to make the bust.

Campus said he believes the entire scene was basically a stage, to help actor Steven Seagal’s TV show, “Lawman.” Seagal was riding in the tank. The Sheriff’s Department has entered into a contract with Seagal and part of that contract gives Seagal carte blanche to go along with the sheriff as he arrests people.

The man, Jesus Llovera, was later convicted of a misdemeanor charge. Seagal certainly needed a SWAT team and a tank to make a misdemeanor stick. I loved Seagal's rationale for the abundance of force.

Seagal maintains the show of force, including the use of a small armored car, was not over the top, but was the result of an abundance of caution.

"When we have intel like that we don't go with just me and my partner," Seagal said. "We go with SWAT just to make sure nobody gets hurt."

Seagal's a seventh degree black belt and poses as a super tough lawman for A&E and this is how he backs up his braggadocio? Anyway, the bulky ex-star is being groomed by Arpaio for a higher calling:

"Joe Arpaio and I were talking about me running for governor of Arizona. I would remotely consider it, but I have a lot of other responsibilities that may be more important to address."

Sheriff Joe Arpaio loves him some Steven Seagal and is trying to groom him to be the next governor of Arizona. Check out his response about Arpaio's racist tendencies and notice how he switches from "he" to "we".

When asked about Arpaio's polarizing policies,Seagal defended the controversial sheriff.

"When people ask if Joe Arpaio's a racist, I'm not going to say I don't think so. I'm going to say I know he's not a racist. He's not. He doesn't care what nationality you are. He cares if you're a criminal. If somebody murders somebody we go and arrest them. If someone robs a bank we go and arrest them. We don't care if they're Mexican, Irish, French, German or Chinese. We don't care. We really don't."

It appears that Seagal actually believes he's always been a real life lawman now and "we" need to keep the peace. What do you think he believes is the biggest problem facing America's today?

"I think our biggest problem is the open border," Seagal said, during a one-on-one interview with ABC15. I think this is a tremendous oversight by our current administration. As Ronald Reagan once said, if we don't have security on our borders, we don't have a country."

Of all the problems facing America like high unemployment, slow economy, income inequality, or the immigration stand off, he chooses "open borders." He's really deep thinker too.
