Imagine the reaction if a Democratic congressman had shown up dressed like a rock star to represent our country!

Remember when Republican Illinois Congressman Aaron Schock decorated his office to look like he just signed the Magna Carta? Yeah well, he illegally accepted the decorator’s services for free, so there was that.

Now there’s this.

Rep. Aaron Schock, R-Ill., took at least 10 of his House staffers on a $10,053 taxpayer-funded trip to New York last September, where most of them had few official duties, the Chicago Sun-Times has learned.

He’s all entourage traveling and looking mighty cool with the Indian Prime Minister.

Okay, first of all, imagine the reaction if a Democratic congressman had shown up dressed like a rock star to represent our country? I can hear Rush Limbaugh’s heavy breathing from here.

Second of all, three other congressmen from Illinois attended this same event and none of them brought staff, much less ten staff members. He charged his campaign account for their food, where he also has expensive tastes.

$554.15 at Bergdorf Goodman, which has a restaurant. It was called a “JFC meeting expense” on the FEC report.$1,272.84 at Mercer Kitchen, called “JFC event catering” on the FEC report.$816.45 at the Delta Grill, called “JFC event catering” on the FEC report. The are no other related New York fundraising costs listed on Schock FEC records.

They are listed as fundraising costs. His congressional staff cannot be used as fundraisers.

Such a fancy pants!
