Because of my secondary paid gig, I am privy to hearing a lot of newly released music each and every week. It's get overwhelming at time and sometimes something cool gets overlooked or falls between the cracks.
I've been reading a lot of Best Albums of 2016 lists as they get published. I've heard (or at least heard of) most of the records on the lists and a lot of the things that are getting top spots won't be on list whenever I get around to making it. That's not to say a thing here and there that have on them haven't piqued my interest though.
Mitski is one of them from this. After lending an ear to her album Puberty 2 over the past week, I've become a bit smitten with it. When my sons stopped by yesterday they said to me "Dad, you watch Adventure Time. You should know who she is. She has that song Marceline the Vampire Queen sings." This isn't that song but it's a good one none the less.
