UPDATE #2: Indiana is now "too close to call" with key precincts projected for Obama yet to fully report; at this time, Clinton has 51%; Obama 49%. Perhaps as a signal of how close the count has become, MSNBC is reporting that Clinton has canceled all scheduled appearances for tomorrow.

Does Malkin Not Care About Immigration Anymore?

Malkin has again given us a dose of her wordly views. Her reaction to the complaints the blogosphere has had over the ABC debate reality show? We are "ballistic." Damn right we are, as well as most people who care about the future of our nation should be. We sat through almost an hour of tabloid style garbage, instead of hitting on things of substance. Of course, Malkin thinks our ideals of substance are fabricated: (link goes to Malkin's site)

Don't you know you're supposed to just let the candidates bloviate about Compassion or Global Warming or Diversity or some other MSM-designated Important Issue?

Compassion, Global Warming and Diversity are only important to the mainstream media? I guess healthcare, gas prices, torture, FISA, the housing crisis, immigration, Afghanistan and education don't even rank up there with MSM importance, since those issues weren't even touched on.

We aren't mad about the debate because we are Democrats, we are mad because we are Americans. Where is Malkin's outrage? I guess she thinks immigration, FISA and Afghanistan are not important enough for our candidates to discuss.

"Bring Them Home"

During Petraeus' testimony today he got a little interruption when a protester started yelling "bring them home":

It's nice to still get this message out there, especially to the deaf ears of D.C.

Using Public Airwaves To Encourage Criminal Acts

We all remember earlier this month when Rush Limbaugh encouraged Republicans to vote for Hillary in Texas and Ohio's primaries. In Ohio when you change parties you must sign a form stating you are doing so because you believe in the political ideals of that party. Lying on that form is a criminal act, and has now spawned an investigation:

The Cuyahoga County Board of Elections has launched an investigation that could lead to criminal charges against voters who maliciously switched parties for the March 4 presidential primary.

Elections workers will look for evidence that voters lied when they signed affidavits pledging allegiance to their new party. And at least one board member, Sandy McNair, a Democrat, wants the county prosecutor to review the findings.

But it remained unclear Wednesday whether the four-member board will agree to pursue prosecution. A 2-2 vote would mean that Ohio Secretary of State Jennifer Brunner, a Democrat, would have to break the tie.

After the election a lot of these cross overs went on the air and proudly proclaimed that they did it for Rush. Little did they know they were admitting before the nation that they may have just broken the law.

Now the question remains about Rush's involvement in this. Using the public airwaves to encourage people to break the law has been a shady area in the past. If charges do come out of the investigation, then the FCC needs to look at Rush's involvement and possibly take action against him, as well as all affiliates that carry his show.

Welcome To Tent City - America Style

Why doesn't our media cover stories like this? They talk about the economy and mortgage crisis, but they aren't showing the real effects of it. Instead we have to rely upon foreign news to hear about tent cities popping up in America, full of citizens that once owned their own homes.

Hypocrite Or Unpatriotic? - You Decide

During Friday night's Real Time, Republican Congressman Jack Kingston took to the airwaves to echo the right wing talking points of Obama being "not patriotic enough". One of the memes that Kingston brought up was about Obama not wearing his lapel pin. Let's take a look at people not wearing their lapel pin:

(click for larger view)

How interesting. That looks like Rep. Jack Kingston talking about Obama not wearing his lapel pin. What's missing? Jack Kingston's lapel pin.

So does this make Kingston unpatriotic, a hypocrite or just plain stupid.

Of course this isn't the first time Kingston played a game of "open mouth, insert foot". A little over a year ago, Kingston said if families couldn't survive on the old minimum wage then they needed to work longer hours. Just a month before that he was crying that working a 5 day work week in Congress would "take away from families". I guess his family is more important than yours or mine.

John Amato: Just watched Hillary's new ad. Matthews attacked it, I thought it was pretty good.

Not So Super Tuesday Election Thread

Here is today's election tracker to keep up on the 146 delegates up for grabs today.

[election 79]

Update: John Amato: Obama wins Virginia and Huckabee is leading McCain very early in the count...Go Huck Go!

Chris Matthews is infatuated with Virginia accents. My God, he actually asked Gov. Kaine (D) to demonstrate the different dialects on MSNBC. He's the Governor---not Rich Little.

Go Donna Edwards! The polls in MD are staying open for an extra 90 minutes due to terrible weather conditions.

Donna leads in early returns: Open Left has the results...
