Bachmann: Democratic connection to swine flu outbreak 'interesting'

WASHINGTON — Rep. Michele Bachmann says she finds it an "interesting coincidence" that the last swine flu outbreak in the U.S. occurred under a Democratic president — though her claim is historically inaccurate.
The last major outbreak of swine flu occurred in 1976, when Republican Gerald Ford was president. The outbreak started when an army private died and four others were hospitalized at Fort Dix in New Jersey.
Bachmann, a Minnesota Republican, made her comments to conservative media outlet Pajamas TV on Monday. She says she's not "blaming this on President Obama" but found it an interesting coincidence that a Democrat was running the country at the time of the outbreak.
President Jimmy Carter, who succeeded Ford, did continue swine flu vaccinations when he took office.
A call to Bachmann's office Tuesday seeking comment wasn't immediately returned.

A new Wall Street Journal/NBC News poll found that former President Bush's popularity has dropped since he left office.
When he left office in January, 31 percent of American's viewed him positively. That number has now dropped to 26 percent.
... to people doing their taxes and seeing it in writing how much less money they were making. Triggering the typical mental response of "son of a b...." finally to a significant fraction of the 30%ers (i.e. those who supported Bush through thick and thin).
Now the 25%ers that still remain, those are the reaaaaal scary ones. Get ready because this ride is going to get bumpy...

it's kind of eerie, in a way. it's a pic of jfk sitting in the driver's seat of a lincoln, with jackie and caroline, and jfk is looking back and to the left, pointing up. sort of in the general direction of arlen's magic bullet.

CAR PLOUGHS INTO CROWND CELEBRATING QUEEN'S BIRTHDAY!
I'm in shock! This day, the 30th of April is a national holiday on which we Dutch celebrate the queen's birthday. But today the day was overshadowed by a grave incident. It looks like a freak incident but other witnesses told that the car tried to intrude the celebrations on different locations. No word yet if this was an accident or assault. The car sent people flying into the air. And unconfirmed reports tell one person died.
The driver was hurt but survided. On television it was clear to see that the heavily damaged car smashed into a stattue in view of the queen. The complete royal family, traveling in a rooflees bus, was witness to the end of the incident.

It seems in the first seconds after the car came to a stand-still, he confessed to a police officer that this incident is indeed an assault on the Dutch Royal house. He missed his target but the impact is just as great. If reports are right this gentleman had some enormous personal problems. He was fired from his job at, oh irony, a security firm.
His condition worsened over the past hours and apparently he now too is on life support. Unconfirmed reports say that he's now braindead. In the evening a third man died in hospital. Two women also died so the death toll stands at five. Still there a some people fighting for their lives.
If the driver survives and faces trial, be could face at least 30 years in prison for the attack on the Royal family alone. Add the five time murder as well and a lifetime behind bars is possible.
mad at someone or something, I'll punch a wall and yell insults at the top of my lungs and usually end up damaging my own stupid self and the wall...but never could drive into a crowd of people who had nothing to do with what made me angry in the first place.
