It amazes me that, watching the Sunday shows, the rationale for the failure of conservatism is, we have to sell more of it. The whole lot of them work in a political Amway mentality.

Update. Dang I left out Hannity.

How the US News Media Fails Us
Robert F. Kennedy, Jr.

Using tools unavailable to him as a reporter — including the power of subpoena and the threat of punishment against witnesses who lie under oath — he has unearthed evidence that would seem to support his assertion that CBS intended its investigation, at least in part, to quell Republican criticism of the network.

AND THEY TROT AHNOLD OUT TO LOOK LIKE A SANE REPUG.

[Quit spamming the comments-Sitemonitor]
what exactly IS spamming?

Rush Limbaugh Blames Obama for The Great Depression!

the repugs need talking points.

That is Rush Limbaugh. At first I thought it was Porky Pig.

that's all folks!

That's why nobody has ever seen the two of them together.

Thank you Tom.

Actually, you're quite right.

Limbaugh is rather "porky"--probably from too much to eat
and not enough exercise or a fitness regimen.

He is a "pig" in every sense of the word. His boorish
manners, his desire to pander to the basest and visceral
emotions of his audience. And he's a sexual tourist
to resorts in the Caribbean. That makes him a sexual
pig--and probably a predator.

It amazes me that, watching the Sunday shows, the rationale for the failure of conservatism is, we have to sell more of it. The whole lot of them work in a political Amway mentality.

he should meet the 'log cabin' repugs. nevermind. he probably met them on his trips to haiti.

it's even worse.

if I admitted that this is my favorite movie.

And this YouTube is absolutely fucking hysterical!

I agree with CIP...Vista is the devil. Worst OS EVER! (And that includes ME)

Happy songs should be able to sell the GOP in 2010. 0r 2012. Except all of the cool artists won't let the GOP use the cool songs... drat it all. /snark off

Just a reminder that the republicans are trying to rebrand as the GOP. No need to help them along....

Ha

Are there Republicans who think "Log" from Ren and Stimpy is gonna sell conservatism?

If they use it, they owe me consultation dollars big time.

Bevis and Butthead? I'll bet that's more their style...

Iraq's puppet government approved
an extended occupation which would force Obama to be there until the next election-unless he changes the rules in a few months...Japan is in a new recession.
Other recycling ideas.

Obama can invalidate it and have an ambassador negitiate something for congress to approve. it's in the constitution. Obama taught constitutional law. his explanations for undoing the boosh doctrines should prove entertaining and enlightening.

I think that "next election" has finally been scheduled for January 09.

The Canadian head of state is a black female immigrant from Haiti named Michaella Jean

that's gotta smart. ess may ay art.

Drug addicts know drugs ruin their lives but they want more. The same with people who vote conservative.

That's a good one. And they usually feel shitty after voting for them too!

Someone that is a democrat that didn't vote for Obama because he is black. If all of them would have voted for him, it would have been even more of a landslide.

So... thank goodness for us! Times, they are a changin'. (Even though I'm Canadian, I would have voted for Obama several times.)

Even though I'm not a Xian, I like the remember the deadly sins. The seven deadly sins are anger, avarice, envy, gluttony, lechery, pride, and sloth.

Are there any Rush isn't guilty of? They seem like rites of passage for the GOP. Perhaps that's part of the problem (amongst other things.)

you don't have to be a xian to know that their exist basic precepts of behavior necessary for smooth functioning of human society.

It never ceases to amaze me that those who claim to need a rule book for their everyday life have such a hard time following it.

Anyone home?

I was wondering the same thing. How are you tonight?

I am well. I visited Alcatraz today, hung out watching the sea lions at Fisherman's Wharf, wandered about San Fran and now am up near Sacramento.

It was a GLORIOUS day.

How are you doing?

But tired of the same shit coming from the MSM. They think that now the elections are over, nobody's paying attention.

and too few were paying attention before the election.

Center right is their talking point...they are going to make sure it is driven home.

Read this...it's an inside look at conservative talk radio. It is absolutely fascinating.

Other things they do is change the subject or ask the caller a question that the caller may not be familier with and they can't respond to. Or they just go to a break and cut the call short.

how this dickhead rightwinger in Milwaukee wouldn't put Russ Feingold on when he would call.

Unfuckingreal.

And this is on OUR airwaves. Not cable. OUR, public airwaves.

Sick and disgusting.

They have complete control of their audience and who calls.

Get this book, The 15% Solution. A political history of American Fascism. It's fiction and copywrite 1996, but it's almost like the author was a fly on the wall. Johnathan Westminister records some of the later 20th century and ties it in with what has happened in the last few years.

And yeah...it's pretty dead on.
But reading it and trying to keep all the fictitious stuff separated from the real stuff...was quite aggravating...made my head hurt...had to re-read whole pages to make sure I read what I thought I'd just read...
The whole style of that book was schizophrenic...

and your films are very impressive indeed. Well done!

. . if I need to roll around in hate and stupidity, listen to twisted logic and knuckle dragging, I'll listen to . . oh, forget it, I'm still in a state of euphoria over the election and empowered over yesterday's rally and march in L.A. It's all like water off of a duck's back. Aah!

I'd even vote for you two before I vote for those jag-offs.

)O(

I never thought I'd say THAT, but the political reality is that if Republicans follow Rush's deeply thought out plan expressed on his show last October (Good Riddance, GOP Moderates) the party would be doomed for decades. DOOMED, I say!

(WARNING - this is an actual link to the actual Rush Limbaugh site. Seriously, you don't want to go there.) So, I've posted the most relevant portions on my blog, here - Go, Rush GO!!

So are we going to have " Conservative Kook Cartoon Sundays " for now on?

"the rationale for the failure of conservatism is, we have to sell more of it."

------------

Thank you for summarizing the crux of the problem so succinctly.

The fundies are out of touch with mainstream America. Bush chooses to sell a national Utah landmark for oil money. Eight million bottles of our mineral water were recalled
in Japan, because they smell "like insecticide". Obama wants to bring back reproductive rights to women.
Floods in the Antarctic are pushing chunks of ice out to sea.

By the way, are the wingers going to stone Rush to death for helping Obama win the nomination? Didn't Rush send his minions in to mess up one of the Democratic primaries?

This clip of Robert Kennedy Jr. Talk. That was really great.

It isn't like everyone is marching in the streets with their little red copy of Noam Chomsky raised in their hands now. Obviously, the Neocon corporatists have to redouble the propaganda to stoke the backfire. It's a war for Hearts and Minds and there is too much money at stake to begin to imagine that they will just roll over.

The Religious Right. That's who brought them down. Spintered their Real pupose with gay fear and abortion issues etc. Then let the K street group walk all over the fiscal principles/

I think it is important to remember that people who looked right, like George Allen and Rick Santorum, were recruited by Newt and the then GOP leadership with the clear understanding that the K Street folks were part of the plan for how the recruits would make their fortune while serving in congress. It was designed by the GOP leadership to be a corrupt system. Pious protestations to the contrary are a cynical effort to rewrite history.

So far, Mr. Rather has spent more than $2 million of his own money on the suit. And according to documents filed recently in court, he may be getting something for his money.

"The good news for Democrats is a post-election Gallup poll finding that while only 45 percent of Americans want to see Palin have a national political future (and 52 percent of Americans do not), 76 percent of Republicans say bring her on. The bad news for Democrats is that these are the exact circumstances that can make Obama cocky and Democrats sloppy. The worse news for the country is that at a time of genuine national peril we actually do need an opposition party that is not brain-dead." The Franken campaign on Thursday filed a lawsuit in Ramsey County District Court to force all 87 Minnesota counties to release lists with names and addresses of voters who had their absentee ballots rejected and the reason for the rejection.
At a State Capitol news conference, the Franken campaign based the need for the lawsuit on what they said was an 84-year-old woman who lives in a Beltrami County nursing home who had her ballot rejected because her ballot signature didn’t match her signature on file. She told a Franken campaign worker, however, that she had a stroke, causing her signature to be different.

just logged in this morning and saw not one but two banner ads. awesome.

Political Amway mentality! LMAO! Yes clearly bluegal knows how hopeless it is to try and reach those Amway/Quixtar folks days. Those conventions are a real trip (I cringe).

Limbaugh, Hannity, Coulter, Savage and all the rest of these dirtbags are not going away. Their voices are only going to get increasingly shrill and importunate. They need to be countered, discredited, repudiated, humiliated and otherwise fucked with on a daily and/or hourly basis. They cannot and must not be allowed to get away with this shit - not now, not ever again. The progressive (read: sane) voices let down their guard at their own peril. These people are anti-democratic scumbags and must be treated as such. Do not give them an inch. Nothing. Zip.

BTW, if you haven't read Naomi Klein's _The Shock Doctrine_, well, stop reading MY ass and go get a copy.

For those unfamiliar, the shock doctrine says basically that free market/small government radicals purposefully introduce "shock" to places like Iraq, Chile, New Orleans either by creating disaster like the Iraq war or the Pinochet coup or by simply ignoring dangerous situations, like the rise of Al Qaeda and global warming, so that when disaster happens, big business can step in with a list of "recommendations" drawn up years before to "rescue" the communities involved.

These recommendations are always the same: 1) dismantle social programs 2) privatize everything 3) deregulate all economic activity

Well, it worked...for a while. People were sold the notion that promoting a system seemingly designed to shift large amounts of money upward and create a permanent enslaved underclass was consistent with their "values" because it didn't pass the laugh test to suggest that their interests were being served.

That's what's wrong with Kansas, as they say.

And whenever shock doctrine policies failed, as they inevitably did, the prescription was always the same: deregulate more, dismantle more social programs, privatize more public holdings. Lather, rinse, repeat.

So, what happens when the shock doctrine blows up in your face? What happens when you've spent 30 years drinking the Reagan/Thatcher Kool Aid to the point where you no longer realize yourself that it's a con?

Why, you do to yourself what you've been doing to the Chileans, Iraqis and New Orleanians for years: you sell yourself more of the same bullshit that got you into this mess in the first place.

So, to quote the master Kool Aid salesman himself: mother mother mother mother, please, mother please...lay your life down with your children.

How's it taste, Hannity? A little sour? No worries. It'll be over soon.

that puts him RIGHT WHERE HE BELONGS... left out.
