By bluegal Friday Oct 23, 2009 7:30pmFor the low, low price of $12.99, you can own a high quality 4X6 lustre print of Peggy Noonan, Kay Bailey Hutchinson, James Baker, and Henry Kissinger snubbing John McCain at the Reagan Foundation Dinner held at the US Capitol Building.
It's brought to you by Washington Life Magazine, which has it categorized on its "blog" under, and I am not making this up, "Pol-lywood Events."
Some days, satire just fails me.

The writer is suggesting that the Weiner amendment debate/vote on H.R. 3200 will just let the Progressives have their day, then they'll lose and vote for Obamacare like good little Stepford Democrats.
He believes they should hold fast with their 88 votes and vote NAY for any bill that is NOT H.R. 676.
Comments???
believeable.
Email your representative and Senators and demand a strong public option.
http://www.change.org/actions/view/i_demand_t...
This will make full coverage single payer the public option.
what the Clinton administration did to activists who were pushing for more just reforms with welfare reform. Many really thought that their voices were heard, in particular their concerns about protections for victims of domestic violence, the ability of unskilled single parents to earn enough to survive and the fact that welfare reform was not dealing with poverty and suffering among poor children but worsening it.
I was part of that debate at the time and considered too hard and cynical because I didn't believe any promises or rhetoric but wanted us to take a hard and aggressive stance for real tangible progress.
The left is laying themselves out for the same again. Activism is exhaustive and difficult. I think its easy for people to say, "Ok, they said we're good, lets all go home now and get a rest."
Unfortunately, Clinton threw poor women under the bus in order to score cheap political points and in an effort to bargain with the wingnuts. He won some points but we'll never know if he could have done that without sacrificing the weakest in our country; the poor.
Its happening again. The poorest are the ones who really need a public option/single payer more than anyone else and they are the easiest to ignore. Often activists are not members of the stakeholders of the causes the represent and thus they are more likely to run out of steam faster than if the real stakeholders (the poor) were educated, groomed to participate and put out there to give a route for their anger, which is a huge source of power that is never utilized by most left activists.
Of course, it doesn't help that the democrats stood idly by while ACORN was effectively disposed of, which was one very effective organization of poor people who could have advocated and organized for single payer.
The left has got to 1) stop misjuding where their power lies and ignoring the actual poor they say they represent and 2) stop thinking that somehow rubbing shoulders with the wealthy and powerful will give us power.
It doesn't give us power, it just opens us up to be used, deceived and then cast aside or worse, gagged, when we are no longer useful for them.
Yes, ever since Clinton signed the Hellfare bill into law my opinion of him lowered a bit.
However Liberals and progressives deserve what they get because they will not BOYCOTT conservative contributors and tie progressive legislation to these boycotts.
See http://democratz.org
If you're going to complain about what conservative Democrats do to liberals and progressives then go after their contributors with demands and boycotts or remain silent.
Elections apparently only help to an extent. We need to use the boycotts as tactics, sit home, sit at work and stop buying products from some conservative contributors and watch them implode due to loss of income from millions of progressives. Yes, you have to get millions of people to sign petitions but it will work.
also see this petition to demand single payer as the public option.

!!
Well said.
YES! The tea baggers might get onboard so simple to understand even, I also think a few private insurence reforms should be added to that also, sock it to em.
That was on my list of the pieces to bring but I am turning in early these days. I'm glad you found it.
That is precisely the way the duopoly works.
It is mostly about creating a myth that we actually have a functioning democracy.
lolwut
that's my caption for that picture.
is my fist.
what type of satire is intended and I am not even interested in entertaining their perceived edgy, intelligent or "with it" point or whatever else I don't get.
I wouldn't have the image of that SOB war criminal/sociopath Kissinger or the nodding donkey Noonan gracing any portion of my wall, a book or much less the retina of my eyes.
I want to know why that SOB Kissinger is still alive. The devil really does hate us that he has postponed Kissie's reservation in hell.
Henry and Peggy should be playing checkers with Jimmy Hoffa and Ronald Raygun.
Eff 'em all.
again, I'd also ignore the rest of the folks in the photo for that matter.
as he helped Bush steal the election in 2000 with the help of Scalia and Clarence Thomas, who legally should have recused themselves from the matter entirely.
As I recall, it was Baker who argued for Bush at the Supreme Court, right?
And Gore was so unrepresented I can't even remember the goof Gore had to defend him. Did anybody notice that Gore and the DNC completely caved in 2000???
And now look where we are. Neocon Central.
With Cheney heading up a new organization with his daughter rather than simmering in prison somewhere.
Unreal.
of that 'enshrinement' of Reagan in bronze, was the crying jag by Boner (the orange guy) when he was speaking about what a great guy Ronnie was - a wonderful humanitarian, always looking out for the little guy.....even when he was cutting taxes for the rich and programs for the poor. Boo-f'n- Hoo.
outburst was strange and wildly inappropriate. Inappropriate in the sense that it seemed that the man's emotions and mental health are all out of whack.
a little 'sauce' may have been involved. As project says,
"Republicanism is a mental illness".....
Boehner's a hot mess!
+ tin foil hat + bollocks = Ron Paul!
Hee nut fuckers, i saw a black helicopter today!
911 conspiracies are a cancer!
Ron Paul = cancer!
*
You know, i'm so fed up with those kind of people. They are just the same as Holocaust deniers! Fucking nuts!
Just the same as denying the moon landing. Amazing isn't it that all involved stayed silence. Oh my what a prank!
Bla bla bullshit!
Ron Paul and Dennis Kucinich vote in lock-step about 98% of the time and are very good friends.
Ron Paul's only wrong about "non-regulated free markets" and the whole John Birch crap. He just takes his "Libertarianism" too far. Kinda like Alan Greenspan did.
He's anti-war, pro drug legalization, against the War on Drugs, for an audit of The Federal Reserve and he wants us to have a sound money supply that is NOT owned by private banks.
He understands that on Dec. 23rd, 1913 the American people were played.
Cut him (and Kucinich) a "little" slack will ya?
has nothing to cry about, unless getting a million two from McDermott...are tears of joy
that the US was going to trade Kissinger to Switzerland for Polanski.
We get to try and jail Polanski for rape on a child and flight.
They get to (finally) charge Kissinger with war crimes and mass murder.
Doesn't it just seem that justice seemed to be missing in the 70s?
and they'll let him go.
Just my prediction.
.............that were true!!!! It'd be a great trade! Iran-Contra had no justice at all, just a pat on the back to that rotten ZIONISTWHORE creature Kissenger. Have you read the Kissenger Report???? He comes right out and plans to 'dispose' of half the population of the world!!!!
In addition to the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, the United States military is also fighting a war against the Obama administration at the White House, Seymour Hersh said in a little-noted speech at Duke University on October 13. The military is "in a war against the White House -- and they feel they have Obama boxed in," he said.
Hersh, a Pulitzer-prize winning investigative journalist who exposed the My Lai massacre in Vietnam and the Abu Ghraib scandal in Iraq, sees an undercurrent of racism in the Pentagon's dealings with the White House. "They think he's weak and the wrong color. Yes, there's racism in the Pentagon. We may not like to think that, but it's true and we all know it."
As Neil Offen writes in the Durham Herald Sun:
"A lot of people in the Pentagon would like to see him get into trouble," he said. By leaking information that the commanding officer in Afghanistan, Gen. Stanley McChrystal, says the war would be lost without an additional 40,000 American troops, top brass have put Obama in a no-win situation, Hersh contended.
"If he gives them the extra troops they're asking for, he loses politically," Hersh said. "And if he doesn't give them the troops, he also loses politically."
Hersh considers the worsening situation in Afghanistan and Pakistan as the principal test of the Obama presidency, which will require the cooperation of the top military brass. Obama must face up to the military, Hersh said. "He's either going to let the Pentagon run him or he has to run the Pentagon." If he doesn't, according to Hersh, "this stuff is going to be the ruin of his presidency."

Well, open thread, I am going way out of bounds possibly here, but I know you'll levave everybody is drunk anyway, everywhere.
I found me, I think. Compare these 2 fight videos if you can handle it, ut2004.

That link they call the fighter frantic, I call him me.
Watch and see this 2nd 1 not 1v1 but dm.
He was called Heyman, thats me I tell ya.

?
It is a long story, Frantic is me. BUT I don't get the credit.
Frantic is in the UK, but I live in the USA.
I can see the lag in his video, those UK gamers are worse scum nazi's than Central PA. They are the ultimate evil people, We should've just let Hitler have his way.(oh that wasn't nice)
Of course everyone assumes that deleveraging for the US consumer is a matter of choice. Boomers just decided to pay down their credit cards and here we are. Rational financial planning is back.
But how much choice do consumers really have in their deleveraging decisions?
It seems the consumer behavior with respect to credit is driven more by what banks have been doing. That is the US consumers have deleveraged only to the extent that banks wanted them to. Banks in the US have a specific exposure target they want to maintain to consumer credit. It turns out the sweet spot is just over 7% of total assets. Banks have the consumer exactly where they want her - with just enough card debt to keep profits rolling and risk at acceptable levels. The chart below shows consumer credit as percentage of total assets since the beginning of 08. It's amazingly stable.
http://narrowtranche.blogspot.com/2009/10/con...
I don't care who started it, I'm just glad she had to stop using charge cards when they cut her limits to just over what she already owed. The one good thing to come out of this bankster fraud, LOL!
Members of the Japanese town in The Cove refuse to back down from the area's dolphin-hunting policies-at least until those individuals are forced to actually watch the recordings of the grizzly killings. Republicrats, er, "moderates", are already throwing Obama under the bus for attacking Faux News. Will Nancy push the trigger? Swine flu deaths in the U.S. are now at 1,000, while bankrupt banks are at 100. Who needs a fictional movie about 2012, when the trailer for this doc suggests we'll be lucky if we make it to 2011? Volcker also agrees with more regulation of the markets. Anyone wanna buy a government-owned deserted shopping mall? Holbrook is another turning-the-corner-type optimisc in regards to Afghanistan. Obama goes on the offensive against people critical of his energy bill. The couple with the tainted drywall get a reveral for coverage, after some unwanted press, for some reason. More Americans, but not most, are swallowing the anti-global warming Kool Aid. Seven thousand Americans a day lose their employment benefits. Cheney blood lust. The Vatican doesn't care about black priests.
paragraph! FFS! I understand you do not give a fuck about readability or fuck whatever! bla bla text puke! whatever!
to keep it tight or the mods will pull the post for being too large, get it?
might be fun. Then I saw it was in Oklahoma.
You could always rent it out to anyone making a Zombie movie.

Thanks for cheering me up a bit. But as long as Arnie's still in office for a year, we'll continue to be screwed. Plus, as long as we don't actually produce shit, and as long as investors just take their money elsewhere when they finally make it, we're still on unstable ground.
Except when you kicked Gray out, because you fuckers didn't want to pay a fucking DMV fee...
We get slagged, because we're behind the rest of the fucking country in terms of viable infrastructure and 'cus we've got more bums than good jobs.
At least they finally told it like it is somewhere in the mainstream media.
Oh, wait.
They forgot to mention the NIMBY values of Three Strikes, the funding of SUVs and malls at the expense of infrastructure and manufacturing, and white flight into mountains full of loose and flammable vegetation.
Too many people for the size of the economy...it's already built up with no good paying manufacturing or construction jobs left, all shipped out
Its different on the North Coast of CA. We have much less corporate and big box stores than most areas in America because we have made efforts to keep them out (like Wal Mart, over 100K people in Humboldt and no Wal Mart!)
We also make a lot of stuff, which is a better economy. We make milk, goat cheese, lumber, pot, fish and marimbas, just to name a few.
The musical satirist Tom Lehrer said that "political satire became obsolete when Henry Kissinger was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize."

Roger Ailes for President in 2012. Yeah, that's really gonna get people to the polls, especially the youth vote. That anybody would even consider this pig presidential material is proof that the GOP's got nuthin'
if he jumps in. He's already got the money and the
advertisingpropaganda all wrapped up....has any idea what "conflict of interest" even means.
trolling the night, feeding on the dreams and lives of those who want the country to work for everyone.
They are the epitome of the gop - white, smug, old and well fed to the point of 24 hour gassiness.

Perhaps we should use those effete wussy socialist Europeans as an example after all...
I’m 56 years old, in my live time I would say the most deprived person that lived at same time as me time on this planted is Kissinger. He fired bomb children and women just for the feel of ultimate power; He is no different then Stalin or Hitler. There are so many atrocities he was a part of, but to see his smiling face as he shook hands with Chairman Mao, the same Mao who helped kill 150,000 US military men, many that where drafted in Vietnam makes me just sick.
Well did Chairman Mao kill those soldiers or did Kissenger?
Its like saying Saddam Hussein made us invade him and made us give him 4000 of our soldiers to kill.
I agree with your spirit but you should rephrase the statement to read "to see Mao's smiling face shaking hands with Kissenger, the man who killed 150,000 US military men."
They are both sociopaths, I loath Kissinger to higher extant because he was a United States Sectary of State.
I understand how bad Mao is, but in this particular instance he was preventing another psychotic aggressor from advancing on his country (I know it was Vietnam but we'd get pretty excited and killy too if Russia invaded Mexico for no apparent reason other than to stop the domino effect of capitalism.)
Bad Mao.
Bad Kissinger.
There was a great line in the movie Bonfire of the Vanities where one of the characters says
"Yea Yale is great so long as what ever you're going to do with the rest of your life has nothing to do with people."
Quote reminds me of this picture.
