What I heard was that the "public option" was public in name only, that in the Senate, it was gutted. So, it was only fitting that they jettisoned it altogether, to eliminate the charade.
I'm a "member" in my "non-profit" credit union, and I haven't heard of any annual meeting or any other mechanism where the management of the non-profit can be removed and replaced.
Study the Federal Law and the credit unions' bylaws.
That would be the place to start to 'hear' about such things.
