Funny , we'd make occasional runs up to Vancouver just to drink beer.
Watching it fade, yes, but great rationalism? Mm, yes and no.
I figured it was as simple as that.
The Venerable Bede is one of my intellectual heroes, upon whose shoulders i still humbly stand although i am no longer a practicing historian. I'm trying to raise "Bede awareness", especially online, for -- while Isidore of Seville may be be the Vatican-appointed, papally-approved "Patron Saint of the Internet" -- given the number and nature of his many accomplishments and the breadth and influence of his knowledge, The Venerable Bede should--at the very least--be the patron saint of the World Wide Web.
This footnote honors the fact that The Bede is widely credited with "inventing" the footnote. It cites A Brief History of the Web, by Tim Berners-Lee (widely credited with being the "inventor" of "the Web"), as partial substantiation of the claim that The Bede is the indisputable "Godfather of the Networked Information"
Kinda heartbreaking though...
