Everyone should take the time to watch/listen to all three parts of Wilkerson's talk at American University. He provides a very succinct analysis of where we are, how we got here and what our prospects are for choosing the right path to the future.
I hope he plans to do more talks and be much more visible in the next few months - as his message is necessary and hopeful....

my memory is not so good these days, so the bonus is that this seems new to me. for the scene of the captured japanese being sprayed with ddt, i was reading that the director wanted to use another movietone, but it cost to much to include. here is a sample copy of the desired clip, sans sound, of cleveland schoolchildren happily eating their school bagged lunches as some crazy man fumigates them with ddt. hey kids! it's partytime!!!!

If it weren't for the stuff, I guarantee I'd have not gotten my degree. It was also what kept me reading, propagating plants, recording music, etc for some years following graduation. Of course, as years went by, the law of diminishing returns applied.
