Why isn't Sarah Palin on this morning instead of Rick Davis. It is ridiculous. It's malpractice. It's a tough environment, maybe they would have lost anyway....but to do what they are doing is inexplicable to me.
McCain's very own Nancy Pfotenhauer came out and said that Kristol is buying Obama's talking points. No, really, she actually said this on Teevee.

Call me paranoid but I have to wonder if this is genuine or if even matters. While I'm enjoying the implosion, I'm keeping in mind that we don't have free and fair elections in this country anymore. None of this matters if on election night the election is called for McCain, much to everyone's surprise, and nothing is done about it. After all, we've had two presidential elections stolen from us in a row and here we are again. Let's not let our guard down. Lots can happen between now and then that's not even on our collective radar.

I fail to see how we perpetuate hate and fear. Yeah, you'll have to elaborate on that assertion. Those of us who regularly engage in discussions here do nothing of the sort. We teach one another, we offer advice about going into our communities, and sometimes we just make one another laugh. Perpetuating hatred and fear? We don't do that. Some blogs might, but we don't.
Sometimes we do blog late into the night. That's because we do have lives, not because we don't. We work, we campaign, we do things in the real world, and when we have excess energy late at night, blogging can be a quiet way to continue in conversation.
Is that a question? The site generates revenue through advertising. I have no idea whether it makes a profit, though I would suspect it does not.
In any case, if you think it's ridiculous, you don't need to read it.
I can certainly appreciate the sentiment that people spend too much time blogging and not doing other things, if you see it interfere in the life of someone you know. But blogging and being active are not mutually exclusive. We do both. Some of us have worked, and continue to work, in professional politics. We are out there. We're not only online. Why do you assume that we're only blogging, and not out there campaigning?
Again, we're blogging and working in our communities. We share stories of the work that we do. We offer one another advice about how best to reach people in our communities. And we engage in conversation. Sometimes we do just vent our frustrations, but so what?

Interesting analogy - and a rarely cited source. I remember that book as a kid in the early 70s. I don't remember it as having a racist plot. Wasn't the problem that the title was so offensive, and the drawings in some versions as well? I think little kids just loved it because of the lovely clothes and umbrella, the scary tigers and the thought of stacks and stacks of delicious butter-slathered pancakes.

The corner gets smaller and smaller, but the McCain campaign just keeps on painting.
It is unfortunate that it takes a long predicted banking and government fiscal collapse to push Obama ahead of McCain. The truth is, during one of the worst presidential terms of the past (and hopefully future) McCain has maintained a very frightening close race. The shocking thing is that Obama isn't farther ahead.
The DNC has not run an especially effective campaign. The problem is branding. Unless the DNC works hard to define republicans with extremists, ripping America into pieces, the Dems will struggle each and every election - and it will take a literal disaster to win each time.
When people wake up and discover half their wealth has disappeared overnight, no amount of spin can turn that into an advantage for continuing the bush legacy. Kristol does seem to be a carnival huckster. When I read his NYT op-ed, he's either that or just not very bright. He doesn't serve republicans well to back stab after McCain held so much momentum. But I guess he can't really complement the republican campaign for being so effective in spite of the shtty job they've done over the last eight years. So, instead, he can try position it as a campaign management problem. If the stock market recovers, people will migrate back to McCain.
For sure, the real story is how the republicans have held on to so much after such a disastrous 8 years of total chaos, and how Americans have been trained to fear liberal democrats. That is the real story here. Torture, wiretapping, two land wars in Asia, fraud, sex scandals, tax cuts for the rich, financial ruin, world chaos, religious tests for government jobs, rising Russian influence and new cold war, all under the "patriotic" republicans.
Democrats have their vices but none nearly as bad as the hell and evil unleashed by this government. The DNC needs to focus more on its core values system and less on trying to be "republican light".
This election shouldn't be a nail biter.

Kristol is the NeoCon that vetted McCain. He was the gatekeeper. I remember McCain floundering in his campaign before he became the Republican pick. Kristol went on the TV and said; "McCain was the reasonable choice." And that was it -- I knew McCain would be the new sweatheart.

It's a little scary to hear Kristol criticizing the McCain campaign as a loser. If there's one certainty in the pundit universe it's that the Joker -- sorry, I mean Kristol -- is never right about anything, ever, and that any advice he gives leads directly to death, destruction, and/or misery for large swaths of people. It's on the wall for anyone caring to read it. The election is virtually over. In fact it was over once mcCain selected the bright college girl bimbo to be his running mate. that was the deciding factor. The election in November will be a formality. both houses will belong to the dems by a large margin. the repubs will gradually surface with pointing fingers aimed at bush and his cronies. Heads will roll. All well and good, but Obama must ensure that he surrounds himself with the brightest and the best to advise him in how we can overcome our current economic crisis. I have full confidence that that will occur. President Obama, has a really nice ring to it. Obama must not forget as well that those who trespassed against our constitution must be proscecuted. let's not forget those wh. o were complicit in the wrongdoing as well. Not a threat, but justice needs to be served
