Digby sent me an e-mail saying that a reader from the Burnt Orange Report had mentioned doing a takeoff of the "Leave Britney Alone" video from Chris Crocker, this time about Rush Limbaugh.
Since Limbaugh is running the GOP now, I thought that he could use a little back up from us lefties, right? Michael Steele certainly hasn't helped the GOP much.
Anyway, I wanted to have a little fun with a webcam...

Unfortunately, leading lights of the conservative movement are falling all over themselves praising Rush. If you're praising Rush, then you're eating slop from the same trough that Beck, Hannity, Coulter, Malkin, serve their daily bullshit in.
Voting for Kucinich doesn't mean Beck doesn't exist. We've ignored people like Limbaugh for far too long. Shit decomposes when exposed to sunlight.

Sometimes (for me anyway) attempts to laugh at situations rather than bemoan them all the time helps me.
"Maybe you could try not to be so serious"? ... When is the last time you gave others a reason to laugh? Sometimes maybe we all need to step back ...and not take ourselves too seriously. I hope you stay....but I guess that is up to you.....

im just seeing SO many posts about these idiots on here (hanity, rush, etc) and its getting to be the majority of topics on here are about what crazy shit did beck do vs what it could be. for instance whats in the stimulus bill and hows it going to help us hold predatory lenders accountable or why is obama keeping us in afghanistan and not pursuing war crimes charges on the previous administration etc etc.
i know its not my site im just voicing my opinion in the comments section. mr amato can do as he pleases, he's definitely earned it and i have tons of respect for the work hes done and the impact this blogs had.

I don't watch FOX News, but somehow, ignoring them hasn't made them go away. In fact, they've gotten louder. More brazen. Rupert Murdoch thinks he's fighting the battle at the Alamo.
If C&L only existed to complain, that'd be one thing - but all of the contributors here point out the fallacies, failures, and contradictions of the people they are justly calling out. In fact, if you've been around longer than your profile suggests, then you know that C&L has, in fact, been a leading watchdog against the perfidy of the Bush Administration.
The complaint that this is all just childish whining and that we should 'just ignore' people like Beck and Hannity isn't a new one, but it's one that has been proven to be without merit. Just how do you elevate the discussion with the turd-throwing monkeys polluting the airwaves? You could be 100% fact-based like Media Matters, and you'd still get pissed on by Bill-O and his standard rant about MM & George Soros.
Let's also not forget that calling out the hypocrisy of these people has made some inroads - blogger Spocko was instrumental in getting advertisers to discontinue their sponsorship of KSFO's Melanie Morgan (she of 'Move America Forward' fame).
we're just laughing at them and that wont make them go away either. educating people will make them go away.
