Rush Limbaugh is expected to be dropped from a group bidding to buy the St. Louis Rams, according to three NFL sources.
Dave Checketts, chairman of the NHL's St. Louis Blues and the point man in the Limbaugh group attempting to buy the Rams, realizes he must remove the controversial conservative radio host from his potential role as a minority member in the group in order to get approval from other NFL owners, the sources said.

Ultimately, the sources said, Checketts must reconfigure his group and find another investor to make his bid more viable.Exactly when Limbaugh will be dropped is uncertain, though some familiar with the situation said it could be within the next week. It is unclear if the two sides even have spoken.
A Limbaugh spokesman told ESPN that Limbaugh would have no comment on Wedneday. Earlier, on his syndicated radio show, Limbaugh was defiant, holding on to hope that he still could be part of the ownership group that buys the Rams.
"I'm not even thinking of exiting," Limbaugh said on his program, according to a transcript provided to ESPN. "I'm not even thinking of caving. I am not a caver. None of us are. We have been betrayed by too many who have caved. Pioneers take the arrows. We are pioneers. It's a sad thing but our country over 200 years old now needs pioneers all over again, but we do."

Today, after conservative radio host Rush Limbaugh responded to critics of his bid to purchase the St. Louis Rams who have stated that he is "insensitive" about race by claiming that he is "colorblind" and "treat[s] everyone equally," Media Matters for America released research documenting more than two dozen examples of Limbaugh making racially charged or race-baiting remarks.
As Media Matters' research documents, there are at least 28 examples of Limbaugh making racially charged remarks, including:
- "We are being told that we have to hope [Obama] succeeds, that we have to bend over, grab the ankles ... because his father was black."
- "I do believe" Obama is an "angry black guy."
- "[I]n Obama's America, the white kids now get beat up with the black kids cheering."
- "Obama's entire economic program is reparations."
- Obama is "more African in his roots than he is American" and is "behaving like an African colonial despot."
- Obama is "Halfrican-American."
- "Obama has disowned his white half ... he's decided he's got to go all in on the black side."
- Sotomayor "a reverse racist" appointed by Obama, "the greatest living example of a reverse racist."
- Obama "wants us to have the same health care and plan that he had in Kenya" and "wants to be the black FDR."
- Latching onto LA Times op-ed, Limbaugh sings "Barack, The Magic Negro."
- Limbaugh: "The media has been very desirous that a black quarterback do well."
- Limbaugh says "NFL all too often looks like a game between the Bloods and the Crips."
- Limbaugh declares basketball "the favorite sport of gangs."
- Limbaugh invented "racial component" to Hackett's decision to withdraw from Ohio primary race.
- Limbaugh on Survivor series: "African-American tribe" worst swimmers, Hispanics "will do things other people won't do."
- Limbaugh suggested Colin Powell only supported Obama because of race.
- Limbaugh: Gates is an "angry racist."
- Limbaugh called illegal immigrants an "invasive species."
- Limbaugh repeatedly calls Native Americans "Injuns."
- Limbaugh says Democrats' interest in Darfur is securing black "voting bloc."
- Limbaugh says that if "feminazis" had remembered to oppose "affirmative action for black guys ... they wouldn't face the situation they face today."

I’m no more sure that Rush is as racist as his comments would indicate than I am about his political jibes and insults. Could be, or it could be that Rush just likes the attention (ratings) – and that’s his schtick (to offend).

Rush is a pariah. He's like a third world dictator who rules with an iron fist in his own country, but would be arrested by the international community the moment he stepped foot outside his borders.
The fact that he was considered by the people who are trying to buy the Rams probably means that they are fans of his and agree with his racist points of view. If I was an NFL player, the Rams would be the last place I would want to go.

Wayne Weaver owns the majority of the team, but former Chiefs safety Deron Cherry is a very high profile minority- as well as minority- investor. Cherry may have been the factor that got J-ville the franchise when a bid by a group in St. Louis was looking like the front-runner for expansion back in the early '90s.

As a kid growing up in Watts, with not much exposure to whites except the police, teachers and social, I am forever greatful for my parcipation in sports.
Grew up in the 60s and watched on tv the mistreatment of my people, who were only seeking basic rightw that I was reading about in my school books. Once in jr. high, I played basketball throught So. Calfornia.
I met kids of all races, creeds and colors, and those experiences I will never forget. Sports helped to judge individuals, and not groups.
I would not want to see Limb-ass ruin a league is thriving, and most of the guys seem to like each. If he were to advance to the mainstream in this manner, it would give cover to like-minded biggots. We don't need him.
It is not unusual for people like Rush Limburger to say racist comments, and not believe that those comments are racist. In their mind, the comments are not racist. For people on the receiving end of those comments it is clear as daylight what those comments meant. Meanwhile the speaker and his supporters denying that they are racists. Hence you have the spectacle of postcards with watermelons in the White House lawn, and the sender insists that it is not racist. You get Obama pictures photoshopped in exagerated African tribe garb, with the statement that it is not racist.
There was an actual incident, some years back which I have never forgotten, in San Diego at a local university (San Marcos), of a white college male student getting furious at a comment a female African-American professor said in class regarding racism, to the point that the student was yelling at the professor, he got up and yelled at the professor, "I can call you ******, and not be a racist".
Everytime I hear Rush Limburger say something off-putting regarding race, and then says it was not racist, I remember that student, and I think, that's what Rush, and his acolytes, want to do, they want to be able to say '******', and still say it is not racist.
The problem is that since Rush and his fellow dildo-heads, er--I mean dittoheads, don't believe what they say is racist, they are condemned to keep saying those things forever.
True to my name, I have to wonder whether Limbaugh is only being dropped publicly but will remain a "silent partner". I believe they are only interested in perception instead of morality.
Dan was talking about Rush and how no one has come out with ANY evidence against Rush and the vile comments that he has made. I just so happened to go straight to this website and found this post. I sent Dakich the MediaMatters link(no offense C&L) and stated that there was evidence, over 2 dozen accounts. Throughout the rest of his show, he made no mention of seeing evidence. He either saw the email and dropped the subject thus ignoring the facts or he had yet to check his email. I guess we will hear on tomorrows show. My guess is that he will not acknowledge having seen any evidence and the subject will not be brought up again. If this happens then the continuation of the MSM(I consider ESPN to be nothing more than a cheerleader) ignoring the side of the story that is drowning in facts. Facts have a liberal bias.
