Rush Limbaugh went on an insane rant today that really is up there with his very best:
Limbaugh: It's right out of Adolf Hitler's playbook. Now, what are the similarities between the Democrat Party today and the Nazi Party in Germany? Well, the Nazis were against big business. They hated big business and of course we all know that they were opposed to Jewish capitalism. They were insanely, irrationally against pollution. They were for two years mandatory voluntary service to Germany. They had a whole bunch of make-work projects to keep people working, one of which was the Autobahn. They were against cruelty and vivisection of animals, but in the radical sense of devaluing human life, they banned smoking. They were totally against that. They were for abortion and euthanasia of the undesirables, as we all know, and they were for cradle-to-grave nationalized healthcare.
Tweety tries to paint Rush-Bo as an entertainer after he played this clip, but listening to him masturbate to a Nazi/Hitler/Democratic party parallel just leaves you feeling sick. It was Big Business that financed Hitler and they all smoked cigarettes, fergawdsake. Being against pollution means you're part of the SS? And, what, was Rush in business with Michael Vick or something?

I'll pose a second question: WHY does Rush Limbaugh get so much airplay on this site? It appears to be one of his biggest channels.
Surely there are progressive clips from Keith Olberman, Rachel Maddow, et al, that would be a more constructive use of time. MSNBC is not on our local cable system, so this site is the only place where I can get their videos conveniently.
If you look at the top of this very webpage you'll notice the name of the site is called "Crooks & Liars." Who seems more like a crook or a liar, Limpbaugh or Maddow?
I think it's a "know your enemy" tactic.

It 0ne out of 100 people take hims seriously that is 3 million in the U.S. If ten out of 100 take him seriously that is 30,000,000 people in the U.S. But it also means that 270,000,000 don't take him seriously.
There are enough people who are woefully educated, willfully ignorant, and insignificant enough to believe that he has the right answers for all their woes. He tells them who is to blame for their problems. He tells them to hate them for causing it. He tells them what they want to hear. Fatboy plays to their sense of entitlement and their frustration at not having everything their little hearts desire. This is a powerful propaganda tool. Totalitarians have been using it for thousands of years.
I firmly believe that there is wisdom to be found among, and value in, the common people but there is a sad reality that has to be understood. People want leadership and when there is a lack of good leadership and a degree of resentment, people will follow anyone who yells "Follow Me!" loudly enough. This is what Rush makes his money doing. We see him for what he is, but millions never will. It's truly scary.
I really do not think that many people actually do. I know a handful. I would not solicit their advice on any subject, nor listen to it when they attempt to promote it. So, I hardly think this is a group which can endorse Rush, with a serious face.

I use Hitler's playbook all the time. He was running a pro offense with motion in the backfield in 1936. By 1939, he ran a box right formation with a full back bend that got an average of ten yards per carry. He'd also punt on third down, go onsides when he was up by seven, and blitz four downs in a row. Genius.

I just sent Fox News and several of its personalities like O'Reilly and Beck an email, asking them if they remembered what happened when MoveOn.org took out their "General Betray Us" ads. Two things happened:
1. Congress passed a resolution condemning MoveOn's ads.
2. FoxNews strongly condemned MoveOn.org.
What has happened to Glenn Beck, after he has compared Obama to Nazis, after he shows Nazi imagery when talking about Obama, after he directly calls Obama a "racist?" What is Fox News saying, if anything, about Limpballs comments? Not much to any of these questions.

More nonsense. One of the primary reasons the Reich sought to invade Russia was to control its oil, because the machine of war runs on oil. Towards the end of the war and oil ran short, the Nazi's invented the process that converts coal (the dirtiest fuel of all) to oil/gasoline.

After WWI, the German economy was in collapse. The Deutchmark was worth less than toilet paper. Those "work projects" the Nazi Party implemented turned their economy around to the point it nearly conquered the rest of the planet in less than 30 years.

I came to realize that for most Americans, their knowledge of war comes from three sources; the Revolution, the Civil War, and WWII. Three wars that on the surface appear to be black and white. Good guys vs. bad guys. And out of those three WWII is the one most people seem to think they know, mainly because the bad guys in that one apparently were genuinely evil.
I remember at the beginning of the Iraq quagmire, when France did not fall on its knees before us in adulation, quite a few people were angry because after all we had saved France twice. When I first heard that I thought that if it had not been for France, there probably would not be a United States, their support of the Patriots during the Revolution is what helped turn the tide against the British after all. And knowing a thing or two about WWI I would not call our involvement 'saving' France. The three main combatants had been stalemated for four years with no breakthrough, the US came in in force in the summer of 1918, and the war ended that November, mainly because Germany was approaching a point where they could not have continued the war. Americas presence had very little to do with it. And as for WWII;
There are so many different myths to wade through on that war that it's ridiculous, the French people did not surrender, Marshal Petain did, and that was because he was the commander of French forces at Verdun, he did not want to see that kind of carnage repeated and so he made an extremely bad choice, can you imagine what GEN. DeGaulle would say about this surrender monkey crap. Plus the finest hour so many always likes to imagine, the D-Day landings would not have been possible (at least the way they were carried out) without the help of the French resistance.
Limbaugh, Hannety, Beck, O'Relley, Coulter, Malkin etc these people do not know history beyond a few self-serving myths, they are clearly the face of proud ignorance in this country. For that reason alone I have nothing but contempt for them.
They're all using Joseph Goebbel's play book, they know who the real Nazis are here. It's not so much that they don't know history as opposed to building their careers upon one bold faced lie after another. Faux is in the business not of news, but of perpetuating the Big Lie.
Adding to the thing about the French, DeGaulle made the argument that the Reynauld government (which he as a member of) was ousted in an illegal coup, making him the legitimate leader of France. If we take that argument then France's legitimate government didn't surrender. The French see Petain the same way Americans see Benedict Arnold. More and more French colonies sided with DeGaulle and by the time the war in Europe ended the Free French had somewhere around a million troops and were even sending troops to the Pacific, but the Japan surrendered before the arrived, they were pretty much a real army.
I've always wanted to see some American armchair marine run his mouth off in front of someone who served with the Free French and see how many teeth he's left with (that's assuming he had anything to being with of course).

Here's the strategy if you want to try to de-legitimize an opponent's complaint or criticism: Call it out on your opponent FIRST.
Here's how it works: I want to spew out an argument that's [racist/sexist/fascist/etc] so I start out by calling my likely opponent a [racist/sexist/fascist/etc] first. Now it's their turn, and what do they do? Say "No, you're the [racist/sexist/fascist/etc]!" Sounds weak, almost childish.
BillO and Rushbo are kings at pushing out these vile statements, then wasting no time turning around and labeling their opponents with the very adjectives we would use on them. Not because it's fitting, but to deflect the inevitable retort.
They've learned in important tactic and they use it ... liberally!

I'm sure I'm not the only one who is left feeling frustrated that our ideas aren't going to debated fairly in the marketplace. Like health care... if the Republicans were serious about debate their contention could be how do we pay for it? What about workers in the health insurance industry? Will I really have a choice? How can we not raise taxes. Instead they yell and disrupt and bring no ideas only hate into the conversation. Perhaps we need to be angry as well. Angry like a fox. We need to write or call our own Congress critters and firmly tell them what we believe is best. It's unfortunate that with youtube and the media 100 jerks and raconteurs make it look like the country is in revolt. What we need is even more people to show up, since apparently according to the last election, we are the majority.We should quietly protest and let them be the belligerent people, the cameras will show who is the thug and who is the thoughtful protester with an idea that moves us forward.
I can't help but think these people could be talked into thinking anything was bad with the right triggers spoken. Can you see them 100,000 years ago? Some people are just afraid and their fear and phobias are only reinforced by Belk, Rush and their ilk. Watching FOX is like going to see a psychiatrist and he/she says, why yes, Bill, they are out to get you, as a matter of fact lean back on this couch so we can implant this Liberal transmitter through your nasal cavity into your pineal gland, so tell me about your mother Bill...You know the Dems want her dead? I was just reading this week about when MoveOn ran their campaign to have people submit videos about Bush. There were one or two of them that compared him to Hitler and all hell broke loose about that.
B'Nai B'rith and all of these other Jewish organizations (along with the Republicans) condemned MoveOn for having the gall to post videos portraying his majesty to Hitler.
So where are all of these organizations on the Right Wing doing the same thing? If they don't step up and address then obviously it needs to be pointed out and make them respond to it.

If the corporate sponsors and Clearchannel aren't going to take responsibility for this hate speech propaganda, the type of stuff that has already created violence and deaths in the U.S. and led to a civil war in Rwanda, then the government should act as a watchdog.
Is there a good way to find out who the sponsors of his show are? I would like to write them and inform them that they will not be receiving another penny of my money so long as they sponsor the show.
The hallmark of Hitler and his Nazi henchmen was the big lie. Often orchestrated by Himmler. Well Rush Himmler is either reveling his incredible ignorance, or is using the big lie tactic like his namesake Heinrich, the original Himmler. Since I don't think Rush is nearly as ignorant as his followers and devotees, I think he must be Himmler incarnate, the Nazi master of the big lie.
