Freepers Frothing Over O'Keefe Arrest: It Was A Setup!

C&L and other progressive blogs have long fought against the likes of Bill O'Reilly and others who cherry pick random, incendiary blog comments and use them to try to give the impression that we lefties are just a bunch of mean and nasty people.
In the case of the James O'Keefe story, however, the comments over at Free Republic had me laughing out loud and I just thought I'd share them with you. The overwhelming majority of Freepers took O'Keefe's side and the conspiracy theories were aplenty:

NEVER HAS ANYTHING SMELT MORE LIKE A SET-UP THAN THIS... the left wants this guys head on a platter, and we’er just going to sit around muttering inanities about how dumb this guy must be. I don’t underestimate anybody’s ability to be stupid, but this doesn’t pass the smell test, not right now it doesn’t.

Can you say political prosecution? James O’Keefe is getting a little “payback” from the Justice Dept. minions of the Kenyan Usurper.

requested by other than your principles to do something you would otherwise not do! That said -O'Keefe's reputation proceeds him! His is the game of setup...ACORN 'pimp' comes to mind!
Then again truth and reality are not in the republican quiver!
By setting up an office at the Hale Boggs Federal Building in New Orleans, Mary Landrieu was inciting O’Keefe to break the law to tamper with her phone system. Classic entrapment!
And since this in anyway involves what passes for Freeper ‘thought’ I must clarify that the preceding comment was sarcasm.
O'Keefe stuts over his ACORN set up then he's the one to get busted at the end, here's the footage!

man those freepers are a dumb lot.
They were pretty sure that the Glenn Beck rape & murder in 1990 meme was a plot by ACORN. They may have been nudged in that direction, but it was still hilarious to watch. If you enjoy laughing at freepers, this thread is hilarious, and it went on for some time afterwards, as well.

Why would my comments two nights ago be considered a violation (and deleted) when it was exactly the same thing as these two. My problem isn't with there post, I don't find it inappropriate at all, I find it funny. So why would I flag it?
my problem is why are these post allowed to stand and mine where not, even to a point where I was threatened to banned. If I was wrong, fine, I accept that and I did and I quit. You just can't say he can say it and he can say it but I can't can't. I expect better from a site like this. I know you'll stick up for C&L but it's just wrong.

Yeah, it was a setup. We've been found out. It was difficult as hell to get those four guys to dress up in phone repairmen clothes and then to convince them to go to the Senator's office and pretend to be repair men. But hey, we did it.
But as O'Keefe said, the truth will set him free.

A ninny or a feeb, possibly. Perhaps an asswipe.
I can't remember where I heard this on tv, but the story of what might have happened is that the senator's office has been flooded with calls about something the repubs didn't like. When anyone called her voice mail box was always full. So these guys were going to her office to tell the people working there that there was a problem with her phone. They were thinking the office workers might say that nothing was wrong, they just weren't answering their phones. The guys were hoping to get this on camera and prove that the senator's office was ignoring the calls coming in rather than answer them and hear the bitching and moaning of the callers. If that was the case, it kind of backfired on the dudes.
Say what you mean. Mean what you say. But don't say it mean.
Considering the charge - they are in some deep do-do.

There are plenty of sociopaths in the Democratic party, they are NOT always republicans. There are however much more sociopaths represented in politicians than there are in the Democratic party.
The sociopath comment was referring to the Whitebread Four. Yes, I know that there are sociopaths within the dems - John Edwards, for example.

Entering federal property under false pretenses ...
True. They donned costumes, claimed to be phone company employees, and asked for access to the equipment room.
... with the intent to commit a felony.
This depends on whether or not they had the equipment and/or technical knowledge to effect an actual wiretap, but I imagine the charge would not have been filed if there was not evidence to support it.
Regardless, O'Keefe and his accomplices may again be in violation of state law on wiretapping/recording conversations.
I also imagine USA PATRIOT changes the rules a bit, and O'Keefe may even be looking at terrorism-related charges.
or maybe....just maybe...they are a bunch big crybaby whiners.
I think they are going to find other things this guy did that was illegal. I'm hoping that there's enough evidence found to lock Breitbart away for conspiracy for awhile. Looking at the furthyer information that comes to light about these four traitors, it looks like charge stacking and special circumstance allegations can put these idiots away for 20 or more years.
The initial indictments go for around 10 years, $250,000 in fines but there are more felonies that these Republidiots committed while committing the primary indictment.

Breitbart was on MSNBC a short while ago with Shuster screaming about false accusations being made. You couldn't understand much of anything he was saying except ACORN. He did look like he was worried and had been through hell lately. I hope that becomes his normal life soon.
Maybe C+L can get that clip up soon.
I held my nose and went to the Hannity website the day after the event to see what his tribe was saying and was surprised that the majority - although sympathetic - were saying that he should not have broken the law, IF indeed that was what happened......so far it's just an "alleged" crime (their words....I'm convinced it's a crime).
There were of course the few that ranted about how it was all a setup by ACORN to get this guy in trouble. Some were so over the top I thought they might be trying for sarcasm.
