Downplays torture:

It appears David had his Care Cremated a few too many times up there in the woods in No. Cal. with Kissinger

What could be troubling this once stalwart voice of the right? Then I looked at his picture and realized he had seen visions of Village of the Damned. His wingnut colleagues are trying to find out what is troubling him but he is clearly thinking of a brick wall.

International conferences with European far-right parties?

Shades of Croix de Feur and The American National Socialist Movement?

called Rachel Corrie Saint Pancake. Despicable.

The Dems are damned if they don't change the procedure to eliminate the filibuster.

The GOPhers have spent the last thirty-odd years destroying our country and the middle class.

Now we have a number of global catastrophes on the horizon and the GOPhers want to have their tantrum:

Waaah! sniff, but I WANNA see the train crash!

The GOPhers need to be eliminated as a threat to the welfare of the majority.

if the story plays out the way it appears it will, i hope to soon call her the former Representative from SoCal...

yes

yes how?

Samson, I noticed yesterday that you asked about a 'Jane Harmon thread.' In case you missed it, the second item in yesterday's MBRU had several links on that big story.

i did miss that

thanks for the 411, thanks for the links, and thanks for the daily MBRU

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) — Stolen refrigerator trucks from Arkansas and Oklahoma companies were recovered late Monday night in Kansas City and most of the frozen chicken inside is missing.

The missing food includes about $60,000 worth of frozen chicken, which has prompted police to warn the public to only buy frozen chicken from reputable vendors.

WASHINGTON – David Kellermann, the acting chief financial officer of money-losing mortgage giant Freddie Mac was found dead at his home Wednesday morning in what police said was an apparent suicide.

i agree that there should be a medicare type program for everyone. i believe it's the only way healthCare costs will reduce/decline sharply. essentially, we must have everyone in one paying pool at least interconnected to bring down cost. the ceo of aetna said recently in a interview on npr said that if nothing is done/changed healthCare cost/premiums will double by 2017. the number uninsured is growing rapidly with unemployment rising. the number is about 49 million. what's becoming more of a challenge is people that are UNDERinsured. 25% of people with healthCare insurance are UNDERinsured. so there is a medical incident/emergency/procedure often it's NOT fully covered. not just fully covered it can come up short in the thousands of dollars and often does. we must look for a way to CHANGE this. this has been somewhat of a ponzi scheme......for profit healthCare insurance. i think we should look at "socialized" healthCare insurance NOT "socialized healthCare". watchout for those that will concentrate on the negative. those that don't want change. those that will negative frame the healthCare changes needed. we can't compete internationally, people in this country can't afford healthCare. look at immigrants brought in as "cheap labor" these people don't have healthCare and/or auto insurance. that burden is shifted to TAX payers and members of the paying pools. elites/corporations/shareholders have profited plenty on the backs of TAX payers. a family of four with healthCare ins. pays an extra $500yr. to cover people using healthCare services but unable to pay for them. some regions of the country are more expensive than others. ERISA provides TAX credit/benefit for corporations who provide healthCare insurance to employees NO problem but the employees getting healthCare insurance is shrinking. it's TOO expensive. so big corporations can compete and afford healthCare for employees get the TAX benefit of doing so. guess who helps supplement that TAX benefit.... TAX payers.
it must be understood we're paying more in TAXes than we know and getting less for it.

not a one size fit's all approach. One can't expect a person who makes 5 times less then another person to pay the same rate a person who makes five times more pays.

This is what sucks about Capitalism in it's current manifestation. Hard core, if you can't pay that's to bad then your out of luck. Or whats left of it anyway. And on top of that our purchasing power has been further demolished this past 8 years. $50 for a gallon of milk, loaf of bread, toilet paper, couple cans of beans, tortillas, can of coffee. 8 Years ago we could stuff full two grocery bags for that amount.

- QUOTATION OF THE DAY -

"You realize how vulnerable you really are. You just -- not give up -- but you just feel that you're at a loss, that you're at your wits' end. I ask myself, 'Do I really have to lose my home to save my son's life?'" - DANNA WALKER, who was laid off and is struggling to keep medical insurance for her son, a cancer patient.
