Comments from Left Field: The White House is set to release an IG torture report. Dem Congressional staffers tell me this report is the “holy grail,” because it is expected to detail torture in unprecedented detail and to cast doubt on the claim that torture works — and its release will almost certainly trigger howls of protest from conservatives.

TAPPED: Offensive remarks?  Oh wait.  Wanda Sykes didn't say these things, Rush Limbaugh said them about Obama and other Dems, and he wasn't kidding.

Due to a combination of intelligent people not having children and excessive breeding by less intelligent people, the world is full of morons, with the exception of an elite few who work slavishly to keep order.

BoilThemInTheirOil's picture

Some of the morons are attractive to the eye. And, according to Donald Trump (as he just justified a few minutes ago as to why Miss CA can keep her crown), they get a pass on dishonesty and blatant lying because they are physically attractive. What a shallow, shallow America that we live in (populated by morons).

And here I thought it was just the beauty pageant industry that was shallow. Silly me.

if distractions and "stuff" wasn't such a successful technique in keeping people trapped into the moron state instead of cultivating their higher selves.

When Ann Coulter said that someone should poison a Supreme Court Justice... TAPPED commentary is spot on... When will Rush Limbaugh apologize to our nation for his treasonous comments? Probably when hell freezes over.
O/T - Every time I see the video of Rush bouncing around and waving his hands in the air, all I can think of is "how come he hasn't had a heart attack yet?" Just look at all that bouncing flesh. It must put a strain on his heart. Does flapping his lips and moving his jaw provide enough aerobic exercise to prevent his heart attack?

the term "massive coronary" comes to mind. He looks like he's a prime candidate to have one soon.

He has the very best health insurance money can buy and he thinks that will save him when he has that massive coronary.

cast doubt on the claim that torture works

i think we are beyond "casting doubt"

woody's picture

torture 'works.'

There is an utterly chilling piece in the May # of Harper's, an interview with a former professional killer for one of the Juarez drug cartels, a sicorio, in which the real purpose and efficacies of torture are made completely clear...

Meanwhile: Say what? Health Care Industry pledging $2 trillion in cuts,

Sure they will....um, yeah, you betcha...

The health issue is the one thing in Obama's plate that is susceptible to the most spin. It's the one issue on which Obama can pretend/portray himiself to be the "winner for the American people, almost no matter what. Any fix to the system with which the big industrial players are happy with will be a blow agains the "people." To the extent that the parasites in the Health Insurance industry can "live" with any proposed change it means that some poor fucker like you or me will die from it...

Obama absolutely, totally, utterly MUST have some "victory," and health 'care," because it is the most spinnable, will likely be it...

even though the plan will be designed to do the least while looking like doing "something."

Samson-'s picture

if one's goal is to gather false info, to have someone tell you what you want to hear, etc. then torture indeed does work.

Boy

I really hope nobody's falling for that shit coming from the insurance companies. Yeah, like they're really going to give up $2 TRILLION. Right. Tell me another.

That money will be coming straight out of our hides. You think navigating the system to try and get them to pay up is hard NOW? Just wait 'til they implement their "money-saving" changes. You'll be lucky if you can get a fucking Band-aid from those greedy fucks.

"Reform", my ass.

While I hope Siegelman is cleared, if he is not, I hope the new US Attorney for the Western District of Texas at least convenes an investigation of the donations of Rick Perry's appointees.

Not ONE word that the man has just been outed as a self-hating closet case.

I guess that's the LIBRUL media for ya!

don't care. Neither should Floridians.

When it's someone that practices "Do as I say, not as I do."

One's sexuality shouldn't matter, but when one actively practices what you preach against, one deserves to get called on it.

Otherwise, you could wind up with a solid Repub majority.

liberalNmoderation's picture

and neither am I sure if he's been involved with any anti-LGBT legislation, which to me would indicate that he does indeed hate his sexuality.
And for a republican governor, he's not that bad really.

Liberalicious's picture

married a WOMAN when he is in fact gay....effed up.

He supported Defense of Marriage Act.

Will not support a repeal of Florida's ban on gay adoption.

etc.

Doesn't sound so moderate now, does he?

Just goes to show that Repub "moderates" are still worse than the most "centrist" Dem.

liberalNmoderation's picture

notice the "I'm not sure" parts of my previous post...
:)

a closeted gay, or just another hypocritical Republican who panders to the religious right? The latter is sufficient for me, but I'm straight.

but a Repub or bigot would be pissed that someone IS gay. And a closet and a panderer to the religious wrong, is the same thing.

One can be in the closet if one wants, but to actively restrict gay people's rights at the same time...NO.

The "latter being only sufficient" is fine, but maybe you should try a little empathy.

i've watched/listened to cNBC for yrs. after work... before work. i now watch/listen less and that came about approximately 3 months ago. i took notice of the anti-populist view and overbearing wallStreet
view on everything. i realized the ongoing anti-union comments and the "NEWs" break interruptions
of guests often not letting a guest get any traction regarding their viewpoint. i have followed the financialcrisis and economic crisis the best i can. wait and listen for interesting information/commentary but lately it's been anti-obama and anti-we the people. wallStreet wanted help they got it and at this point it seems to be having positive effects. when the market was down it was due to obama but when the market rallied the last 6-7 weeks nothing positive from the talking heads. yes there are some positive gems but it's not symmetrical/balanced. yesterday i did view a gem where larry kudlow was hammered by a (d) strategist that suggested that larry look at his transcripts and take notice of the negativity toward obama when the market was dropping but when the market rallied nothing. larry had no comeback. i'm NOT saying obama has control of the market but certainly if he can have a negative effect it would seem logical that he could have a positive effect. i've been waiting for someone to challenge kudlow and it happened.
