i'd never heard that story before of the guy who recognized mcnamara on a ferry ride and almost succeeded in throwing his ass overboard.
Apparently there's nothing Sarah Palin won't lie about, even when it isn't beneficial to her. But that's absolutely typical of a narcissist.
nah, kidding.
History is written by the victors, and they certainly take liberties to present grandiose conclusions.
Narcissists must have a marcissistic supply, a source, a feeding trough of individuals who will support their fantasies and schemes. They go into rages when their narcissistic supplies fail them. Can you imagine anything greater than the great cheering crowds at Sarah Palin rallies to fill her needs? It's no wonder Alaska doesn't hold anything for her anymore. Some of the television audience numbers were larger than Alaska's entire population of 686,000 people!
Isn't it odd that such a phenomenon -- roaring adulatory crowds -- fills the needs of some while the same phenomenon would be a terrible unwanted burden to others...
Guess who makes the better politician?

I'd add Dennis Kucinich to that list, too.
Neither one fears crowds, but they sure don't seek out the adulation of others, and they speak to the truth, not to enhance their own grandiose fantasies.
mind. Coulter too.
My reaction to the michael jackson hoo-haw yesterday:

Huff needs to hire some spell checkers (coroner) for these headlines.
the video of the massey coal whores threatening their economic-kin is a video that encapsulates the american history of how corporate/ruling class interests have been able to play one segment of the working class against another since the country's founding.
arrogant, ignorant and selfish, it makes the work of the corporatists so easy.

Something that might explain the republican fascination with sarah palin:

The YR Voter Fraud came (apparently) again to the spotlight to smokescreen the actions (and inactions) of the other YR candidate, as noted here: http://www.arktimes.com/blogs/arkansasblog/20... .
The fraud allegations are serious, just as serious as racial insensitivity.
Do people understand that Sarah Palin is really dumb? Her latest statement about the non existence Department of Law is there to protect the US President from lawsuits is beyond ignorant. If she was referring to the Department of Justice she does not know that department is not there to protect the president. The department of justice is there to protect the people of the United States not the president! Sarah Palin is dangerous because she is so uneducated.
those are her strengths.
So that means she has no weaknesses!
... viewed the DOJ and the role of AG Alberto Gonzales in the same way. Gonzales' 'job,' according to Bush, was to help represent him to the people.
This is pretty big...

Sabow...that name sounds familiar.
Fascinating how the Bush name turns up in so many accounts of murder and drugrunning, no?
This is stolen from elsewhere, not written by me
(and I just posted it on the "Alternate Brain" site):
Obama justice system, SHOW TRIALS for all:
Glenn Greenwald here
I thought the whole Republican party are criminals in some way, so it would be really tough to find anyone to run for any honest office.
Galloway's always worth a read. And McNamara apparently had more of a conscience than many, frighteningly enough.
The WV video is infuriating but predictable. Matewan, anyone?
The Amusing Ourselves to Death cartoon was creative. I'm a big fan of Neil Postman, who was very sharp overall, but he did oversimplify Orwell to make his points, and sets up a bit of a false dichotomy. Huxley was creative, but I'd rate Orwell a much better writer, certainly in terms of craft, but also originality and insight. (Zamyatin's We also isn't appreciated enough.) Many other writers and thinkers have covered the same ground as Huxley, and in terms of narrative, I'd say some have been more successful. His most original ideas center on love and sex, because his basic take is the same ol' "give them bread and circuses" idea from millennia ago, except in a future, technological setting. Orwell, Huxley and Zamyatin were all social and political critics, and their work is more complementary than contradictory.
Here is the real one, just as evil. http://www.fstdt.net/QuoteComment.aspx?QID=63...
Somebody please tell me how that shirtless, knuckle walking troglodyte could possibly get it's fat ass down a coal mine shaft, and if by some miracle it did, how could it possibly work an 8 hour shift without having a stroke?
