Imagine 50 million democrats forming their own health insurance group?
The Democratic Party has their own credit card, so the party does have initiatives that involve their members. Why not have a Democratic Party insurance group?
Read and sign this petition
http://www.change.org/actions/view/we_the_und...
After the performance I've seen by the Democratic Party since Gore conceded to Bush and refused to put up a fight, I wouldn't trust the Democratic Party to watch my cat, dog and bird for an evening while I went out to dinner.
Once all the dust settles, even if the Democrats go it "alone" to vote for health care reform with a Public Option, they will still be screwing us with the for-profit insurance corporations still in the mix and with punitive penalites/fines if we refuse to pay into their rotten scheme.
Now, get me a petition with a Progressive coalition of signers that has NOTHING TO DO WITH THE DEMOCRATIC OR REPUBLICAN PARTY and I'll sign up and pay my first months premium HAPPILY!!!!
Regular Democratic Party plants online, will deluge you with their rendition of how you only come here to bitch and moan! ;-)
I have the truth on my side.
The record of what BOTH parties have done is clear for all the world to see.
And I might add, I am doing more than "bitching and moaning". I traveled, at my own expense, to NYC and filmed and edited the F.A.I.R. ABC petition event, edited it and uploaded it to YouTube.
I am working with a Massachusetts activist group who are TRYING to get the truth out about Mitt Romney's rotten Mass Plan that the Democrats are trying to sell to all of us right now. NEWSFLASH FOOLS!! The Mass Plan is a FAILURE!!!:
The Massachusetts model has failed, and the state is currently facing a
huge and perhaps intolerable budgetary deficit. Meanwhile, about 5
percent of the 10.3 percent uninsured are covered, but the majority
cannot afford to access care. Those in the subsidized plans can't afford
the premiums for many months at a time because they must pay for food or
an auto repair, an increase in property taxes, etc. Thus, they are
forced to drop their coverage.
According to Connector documents, between April and July 2008 the
subsidized plans had 60,681 enrollments and 62,672 disenrollments, for a
net loss of 1,991 members.
There were 45,803 terminations in the four months prior to June 2009.
This is not a success. This needs to be publicized widely!
And if you don't believe me when I tell you that Obamacare is just the Mass Plan on steroids, read this op-ed that was in the Boston Globe a few days ago:

Besides, ConcernedCanuck, many posters here agree with me as a medical professional and as a known progressive, I DO support the "Democratic" Progressive Caucus' H.R. 676!!! (Even though these members happen to have a "D" beside their names. And I DID contribute HEARTILY to Obama's campaign in order to help stop Palin/McCain and I had a "Move-On" event at my home for Obama.
Love,
Abbybwood, R.N. (Still a Democrat since 1968)
Member, Physicians for a National Health Program (H.R. 676) ***Because it's the BEST solution to our health care quagmire.***
you are what everyone should try to be. Active, involved, and a big heart. A person can tell that you are involved in the healthcare field. I truly hope my daughter follows in your footsteps when she is done nursing school this year. I salute you!!!
And I honestly feel terribly sorry for everyone that worked their asses off for this administration's election only to get tossed aside and treated with disdain. Yes, McCain/Palin would have been dreadful, but as others have noted, at least you would know you were getting shafted, instead of all this lying and scheming.
Show those "oppressed" Palestinians you're on their side by boycotting the music of an old man whose servant ran off with his savings. Real noble stand there. BTW, if it's an "anti-Israel" problem and not an anti-Semitism problem, why are they boycotting a Jewish singer? I don't see them going after Madonna.
What is your point? You really don't make much sense in those last two sentences? FYI: Madonna is Jewish.
She's Catholic but into a Jewish spin-off. There's a difference.
Rahm's White House is going to torpedo the progressives the 'left of left' people who are the unwanted, unacknowledged, apartide supposedly 'silent' (we're supposed to stay silent). Rahmie's 'people' in the WH say the Public Option is not the end all or be all of anything, and hinting that in the end, they will trash it, along with the progressives.
Dems=good guys different than Rethuglicans in every way? Speak no evil of these people, for they are the only chance progressives have of getting anything implemented at all! And it's only been ___ months since the election, not nearly enough time to show one's true colours!
You forgot to add 'snark'. Yeh! Speak no evil!! O-bought-ma's just a black-faced BUSH!!!! and he sucks, too.
Years ago, here in Ontario we had a truly great chance at change (TM). I worked my ass off for the election of the NDP party. I worked for my local candidate, I knocked on doors, I raised money, I gave money, etc. Know what they did when they did win? They shafted everyone, including those that got them elected. Since then, I despise every lying politician, of which almost 100% of them are.

We are all f'ed.
The other option for president would have been better?
That darned Obama and those stinkin dems. . .
Kinda naive to think politicians don't lie or the dem's are really progressive? We have to hold their feet to the fire no matter what the issue. No surprises there.
Roger Ailes weighs in with his review of District 9.
California needs something different, that's for sure.
Good roundup of pieces on the Dems, health care and the media.
