Sadly, No!: Quick Question

is a fallacy where the money could be used to treat abusers instead of ruining lives by sending them to the prison industrial complex.
Living wage jobs would add a little self respect to the equation also.
I never saw it before. It IS TOTALLY in the Soviet Constructivist style. Red fists? RED!?! Did no one over there think about this?
But the, why should they? Why should YOU have a clue, when you lead clueless people.
Of course not, its glenn beck!
What a fool! And, EVERY media person in the world ought to call beck out on his stupidity or risk being lumped in with that steamin' pile o' dog mess!
Mickey: "It was an epiphany. Do you know what an epipany is?"
Keoni: "NOT NOW MICKEY!"
a sick man, but he's not a fool. He's got his own radio show and TV show which reach millions, and a publisher for his books.
And, he's raking in $$millions$$$.
He's the perfect capitalist, playing both side against the middle and where they meet, he just stands by and collects the 'blood' money that drips down.
And, we help him get richer every day by keeping him 'in the news' and 'controversial'. If a tree falls in the woods....?

How Beck chose the color red.
Beck "Gee I don't know guys red sounds kinda communist.."
Producer "How bout blue?"
"Too Democratic."
"How bout green?"
"Damned environmentalists!"
"How bout black?"
"Wrong connotation."
"How bout purple?"
"Why don't you just make it a rainbow?"
"How bout pink?"
"Women are one of the groups we're taking the country back from."
Communism it is!
in Tricky Dick Nixon's War on Drugs. He's dead, and good riddance, so why do we let his Frankenstein's Monster still run loose?
Just think what we could have done with that trillion dollars...like Universal Health Care? New schools, roads, light rail between cities, alternative energy, you name it. Could have done a lot. Except we've wasted it all and now we really need it. All because of racial bigotry and political (and economic) opportunism.
This is part of the price of a culture war. The rest is trashed civil liberties and a corrupt 'justice' system intent upon ruining the lives of peaceful pot smokers and not going after real crooks that have stolen this country blind, wrecked the economy and started illegal wars, killing hundreds of thousands of innocent people and thousands of our 'dearest blood', too.
And now we're broke. We can't afford this DrugWar anymore; we're back to what happened in the Great Depression. sooner or later, the DrugWar must end, if only because we just can't pay the piper. And it can't end soon enough.
... is that the War on Drugs (or Terrorism) is that it's predicated on punishing a given party and not addressing the environment in which drugs and terrorism flourish.
Oh stop! You are making way too much sense for this early in the day. ;)
Say what you mean. Mean what you say. But don't say it mean.
They're the ones who taught me critical thinking.
Think about it: as Lee Atwater (in)famously put it, those so inclined can't run around anymore saying "N----r, n----r!" Can't just lynch 'em, anymore.
No, a more 'palatable' means of expressing racism had to be found, and a more 'legal' means of implementing that racism had to be created. The impression back then was that Blacks and Hispanics were barely civilized savages who had to be controlled, and Asians were the crafty "Yellow Peril", and all such minorities were hell-bent on the defloration of White wimmin-hood. Since it was assumed that the former two groups went insane under the influence of cocaine and marijuana respectively, with the assumption that such drug use was a given, and that Asians couldn't live without opium, banning those drugs were a way to attack said minorities.
The self serving 'anti-drug' bureaucracies that sprung up later merely perpetuated the myths until the 1960's, then switched to "We gotta save the children from druuuuugs!" mode later as the racist underpinnings of the original policy became 'politically incorrect' to express (Atwater, again).
But the effect is the same: look at the racial composition of the prison population for proof that the DrugWar is inherently racist, as most African- and Hispanic-Americans that have been incarcerated for the past 20 years were locked up for drug law offences.
And now, we can't afford all those prisons that sprang up like poisonous mushrooms these past 20 years. Nor can we afford in bureaucracy that is Congressionally empowered to lie to the American people about drugs.
I don't know about you, but I am sick and tired of paying for my government to lie to me. Here's a perfect chance to let the liars know we're on to them, and serve notice that the American people won't tolerate the lies anymore. The economy can't bear the weight of useless, pointless programs like the DrugWar anymore. Time to demand its end.
The War on Drugs is a failure??? OF COURSE IT IS!!!
I have this strange feeling that the only reason this "war" continues is because the government isn't able to control the distribution or sales of drugs.
Stop and think for a second---if something you can ingest, snort, smoke or shoot up falls into a category of things the government doesn't control, it's illegal.
Think FDA....ATF...Big Pharma.....
The government isn't getting a big piece of the pie...therefore it's illegal to use, manufacture, sell or distribute it.
And let's not forget DEA (Drugs Enter Anyway)...
Just sayin'...
Beck is two for two now. First he got rid of Van Jones and yesterday the govt. pulled their financial support for ACORN. The fu*ker is being given more and more support by these sorts of things. You just know his head is swelling even as we speak. I hope he doesn't go after Mrs. Obama next, I would hate to see a divorce in that family.
As for the logo, who the hell knows what they were thinking when they devised it.
Say what you mean. Mean what you say. But don't say it mean.
what they were thinking of, after all it IS a fist ...

So...last nite the media were all aflutter with how there is now so much incivility within the public discourse in this country. Oh...boo hoo. They love it, they've promoted it...for years. They promote it every time they put the GOP closet queens, McConnell and Boehner, on the their programs to spew their couched hatred. They promote it when they give air time to closet terrorists bringing guns to public events. They promote it every time they broadcast programs by extremists know-nothings like Hannity, Beck, Limbaugh, Savage and Levin.
Why all the sudden concern? I'll tell you why...because after this week's debacle in D.C., the FBI and CIA are now really concerned about domestic terrorism in our major cities...including D.C...and they have warned the politicians and the media to tamp down the rhetoric. That's why.
"Anyone that makes less than $150K in this country, has no business voting Republican."
They wouldn't be able to play with all of their new toys and civil labor camps. Now that wouldn't be any fun now would it?
Good piece on the Randian crowd there.
