Are we that dumb...nope, we're that desperate for leadership too: Watch Out: Republicans have significantly narrowed the gap with Democrats on who is trusted to deal with the country's problems and have sharply reduced several of President Obama's main political advantages, according to a new Washington Post-ABC News poll. It's time for Obama to Fire Most of His Senior WH Staff. They have failed him and us.

Joe Conason: "Preparing for what they hope will be their return to power in Washington, Republican Congressional leaders have revived the fear-mongering and flag-flapping used by Karl Rove to win the 2002 midterm elections. Like the former White House deputy, forever known to his boss as “turd blossom,” the right-wing strategists on Capitol Hill feel no shame in arousing the basest of emotions among their base."

Bob Herbert: "When it comes to employment, there are roughly three broad categories in the United States. The folks in the upper-income group are not suffering much, if at all, from the profound reversals in employment brought about by the Great Recession. Those in the middle have been hit hard. The job losses there have been severe and long-lasting. But for those in the lower-income groups, the scale of the employment crisis has been mind-boggling."

Those who believe this grievous economic situation will right itself of its own accord or can be corrected without bold, targeted (and, yes, expensive) government action are still reading from the Ronald Reagan (someday it will trickle down) hymnal.

Cluster FOX Noise's Gretchen Carlson, Sean Hannity, and Dick Morris Give "Palin the Telepalmer" a Pass - http://blog.buzzflash.com/alerts/780
Almost as if on cue, the conservative-dominated pundits of FOX News responded to Sarah Palin's telepalmer gaffe by doing the only thing a "balanced" network could do -- defending her inept actions with implausible rationales.
If your 'news' has to tell you how 'fair and balanced' it is....then that's your first clue its not...

Not to be condescending but, "Do you even know what 'condescending' means?" :)
HOW exactly does one correct stupidity WITHOUT sounding "condescending"?
(Did that question come off as condescending?)

is it not? I feel the same way as Skippy. When I saw blog posts about that article it immediately occurred to me that the author of the article did not understand the difference between condescending and patronizing.

If you believe the figures talk radio reaches 40 million people each day pushing the premise that liberalism is the worst scourge of all time. But still the good professor pooh-poohs that liberalism is under assault.
It's nearly impossible to have a reasonable conversation on politics with a Conservative (Republican) and not have a bunch of half truths or outright falsehoods given as absolutes. The only response you get when debunking them is a change in subject moving on to another liberal to deride.
There are some smart Cons out there but they are the most dishonest because that is where their acolytes get their "facts". The Washington Post with their pushing this meme moves to the top of the list.
Since Washington, DC is snowed in along with the rest of the east coast, I just thought it was high time someone wrote the Republican version (that is, the Rep. Steve King) version of The Shining.t
