Pawlenty has been campaigning for the Presidential nomination for over a year, and he has 8+ months to go as governor. He won't run again in Minnesota and doesn't need Minnesota's vote to be elected President. There's a strong winger minority in the legislature and they're playing Pawlenty's game.
In the most recent budget, Pawlenty kicked a lot of problems down to the municipal and school district level, kicked other problems into next year when he'll be out of office, took a lot of federal money from the stimulus package he had denounced, heavily cut services, and believe it or not, cut taxes.
It's like Minnesota has an absentee governor. He really left the state a year ago.

I Googled MN Lee Buckley and came up with this. It seems like the unethical patronage of a Faith-based initiative practitioner that does not seem to reconcile with the state DOT's representation, concerning the use of fees.

"Contribution: The minimum annual contribution is $30, which is due with your initial application and each registration renewal. You may contribute more if you wish. Your contribution is split between the Department of Military Affairs for financial support of military families and the Department of Veteran Affairs for grant programs for homeless and needy veterans."

I've forwarded the information to some individuals that take an interest in that kinda stuff. Thanks again

AIPAC. There is no stronger force in US politics. Only a matter of time before the current administration goes groveling back to them.
Wolcott has a great line on Randians there.
