The story of British PM David Cameron's willingness to criticize Israel following President Obama's own criticism of the Gaza blockade is more historic than anyone seems to be aware.

Finally, the US and UK are treating Israel like an adult, letting it know that there are consequences to their actions and "Daddy" won't always be there to bail them out (although they know we always will).

I credit President Obama for this new willingness to tell Israel there are consequences to their actions and we won't automatically take their side on every decision out of fear of appearing to be "anti-Semitic".

Now, if only the people of the Middle East will recognize this fact and not do anything to screw it up.

is catching like wildfire. CNN just ran a piece about a local NO fishing association talking about BP offering extra financial incentives to go fishing (in lieu of cleaning up oil).

Look for the RW to really get traction with the "out of sight, out of mind" crap. Thanks CNN.

I'm already receiving responses to my video: "Where's the oil? Right Wing pundits dismissed spill." that was posted here last May, by Right-wingers claiming "Rush was right!" :(

We will not even know how bad it is or whether the ecosystems effected can recover in 20 years.

This is still the worst man made disaster in history.

Why is the media predicting the House will go to the republicans this year? Are they trying to create a self-fulfilling prophecy?

When it happens they'll say you heard it here first; when it doesn't it will be the surprise result of the vote.

I foresee a free-for-all if the animosity against incumbents continue...

Goes without saying, but...Con-servatives are idiots: International Scientists Confirm Climate Change is "Undeniable" - http://www.desmogblog.com/international-scien...
An international team of climate scientists led by the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) has confirmed that climate change is "undeniable" and clearly driven by the "human fingerprints" of greenhouse gas emissions. The findings are based on new data that was not reviewed during the most recent 2007 report by the UN Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change.
The Financial Times reported today that the NOAA study drew on 11 different indicators of climate, and "found that each one pointed to a world that was warming owing to the influence of greenhouse gases."
The Financial Times quotes Peter Stott, head of climate monitoring at the UK Met Office, stating: “The whole of the climate system is acting in a way consistent with the effects of greenhouse gases. The fingerprints are clear. The glaringly obvious explanation for this is warming from greenhouse gases.”
Glaringly obvious, unless you are a climate skeptic who denies the facts in favor of touting manufactured scandals like "Climategate" - a mythical tale ginned up by the climate denial machine to further confuse the public about the real dangers of climate change.
So basically the completely unrepresentative/dynastic/corporatocracy dinosaur that is the US Senate, is keeping our lives in jeopardy, our economy in shambles, and James "I wish I had a brain" Inhofe (R-Exxon/Oklahoma branch) is still public enemy #1....

For those with functional brains: Global warming pushes 2010 temperatures to record highs - http://www.guardian.co.uk/environment/2010/ju...
Global temperatures in the first half of the year were the hottest since records began more than a century ago, according to two of the world's leading climate research centres.
Scientists have also released what they described as the "best evidence yet" of rising long-term temperatures. The report is the first to collate 11 different indicators – from air and sea temperatures to melting ice – each one based on between three and seven data sets, dating back to between 1850 and the 1970s.
The newly released data follows months of scrutiny of climate science after sceptics claimed leaked emails from the University of East Anglia (UEA) suggested temperature records had been manipulated - a charge rejected by three inquiries.
TO RECAP: CLIMATE CHANGE IS REAL, ITS HAPPENING NOW so called breitbartish 'Climategate' is TOTAL BS and the con-servative idiots that site it still are without help or purpose on this earth....useless wastes of existence...

After the hottest decade on record, it’s the hottest year on record, hottest week of all time in satellite record, and we may be at record low Arctic sea ice volume

Just making a final, last-minute appeal for help. There have been a few kind donations made to Pottersville and we're almost out of the woods but not quite. Seems the new car ain't quite what we thought it was and needs works and my insurance company keeps raising my premiums month by month. Mrs. JP, who's been laid off for two weeks now, will start getting unemployment benefits in a week or two and mine, thanks to Obama and the Democrats, ought to kick in around the same time. But for the time being, we're struggling to pay the rent, utilities, keep gas in our malfunctioning car, make insurance and AAA payments and still keep food in our stomachs. Any help would be greatly appreciated until our financial situation will be mitigated by the middle of August.
