Not as funny as MC Rove IMO. Full transcript here.

Bill O'Reilly's Hit List

A picture named TOF-smearlists.jpgBill O'Reilly's Hit List

I've talked about his monologue here and here already tonight, but I needed to mention that now the falafel king is going to supply the names of all the super duper, double secret, anti-military, traitorous websites and post them on his website. He wants to expose them for all the world to see.

Bill: I'm glad the smear sites made a big deal out of it. Now we can all know who was with the anti-military internet crowd. We'll post the names of all who support the smear merchants on billoreilly.com. So check with us.

I hope I make it on his list. I encourage everyone to email his site and ask that C&L be included on that list.

Family Guy and Bush

Tuesday Funnies

Brian, from the Family Guy had a small monologue about President Bush

Brian: "Don't worry Lois, I'm good at finding people. I was the one who found Bush after Hurricane Katrina."

Brian: "Uh, Mr. President, are you up there?"

Bush: (face half hidden in treehouse window) "Go away!"

Brian: "Sir, there's a disaster in New Orleans."

Bush: "I'm readin' Superfudge!"

Brian: "You gotta come down and deal with this."

Bush: (lowers further in window) "Don't make me do stuff!"

Bush and Corn

In Honor of Earth Day, Our Fearless leader talks about corn.

Direland has more: Jimmy Kimmel, in the opening monologue for his Thursday night show on ABC, had a priceless clip of Bush speaking -- a propos of Earth Day -- about the energy problem. Republicans (and even some of my war-supporting friends who aren't) frequently denounce those of on the left who have the temerity to suggest that our president is a world-class Twit. They ought to see this clip.

Chris Rock's Oscar Monologue on Oscar Night

Chris Rock's opening monologue

"A lot of people like to bash Bush. I'm not gonna bash Bush here tonight. I saw Fahrenheit 9/11, I think Bush is a genius. I thought Bush did some things this year, you, nobody in this room could do. Nobody in this room could pull off ok? Cause Bush basically reapplied for his job this year. Now can you imagine applying for a job, and while you're applying for that job, there is a movie in every theater in the country that shows how much you suck at that job?" transcript

I'm on board with: 'Demand Question Time'

I've signed on to this proposal, which asks that Question Time be part of our political system from now on.

We live in a world that increasingly demands more dialogue than monologue. President Obama’s January 29th question-and-answer session with Republican leaders gave the public a remarkable window into the state of our union and governing process. It was riveting and educational. The exchanges were substantive, civil and candid. And in a rare break from our modern politics, sharp differences between elected leaders were on full public display without rancor or ridicule.

This was one of the best national political debates in many years. Citizens who watched the event were impressed, by many accounts. Journalists and commentators immediately responded by continuing the conversation of the ideas put forward by the president and his opponents — even the cable news cycle was disrupted for a day.

America could use more of this — an unfettered and public airing of political differences by our elected representatives. So we call on President Barack Obama and House Minority Leader John Boehner to hold these sessions regularly — and allow them to be broadcast and webcast live and without commercial interruption, sponsorship or intermediaries. We also urge the President and the Republican Senate caucus to follow suit. And we ask the President and the House and Senate caucuses of his own party to consider mounting similar direct question-and-answer sessions. We will ask future Presidents and Congresses to do the same.

You can sign the petition here. I think it's a good time to push for this to happen. Our political system is broken at this point because of the use of the filibuster, but soon it will be something else. And it shouldn't be only for the president. Both parties should have to answer directly to the people. The media has had too much control on what Americans get exposed to. They should welcome these events as well.

I'm asking that President Obama hold a progressive blogger 'question time' immediately. We are the grassroots and the base of the Democratic Party and it would be of great help to all parties involved if this happened. The sooner the better.
