These guys are a recent favorite of mine. I was introduced to Bear Language about a year or so ago by a friend of mine over at Berklee in Boston. Even though they're students, they sound like they've been doing it their whole lives. They're one of the tightest among the newer bands that I've heard and one of the most energetic. I haven't had the fortune of seeing one of their live sets yet, but after seeing some performance videos, I definitely plan to. This particular tune, "The Ventriloquist," is one of their longer ones, but grows and not only holds, but increases the listener's interest with each new development in the song. It is not only a showcase of their talent as instrumentalists, but also an adeptness for dynamics, which compliment the song's structure and set the tone for each movement. I would highly recommend checking out the rest of their material and, if you're ever in Boston, attending at least one of their live performances.
