Megyn Kelly is not only suggesting the Baltimore police will be exonerated for the death of Freddie Gray, she’s already on to the next step of demanding that the Gray family accept the absolution. Not that those same rules apply to Kelly or at least one of her white race-baiting pals.

Rather than discuss the substance of the case with Gray family attorney Jason Downs, Kelly seemed obsessed with ferreting out whether the family would properly react (as Kelly so determined) to the results of an official investigation into Freddie Gray’s broken spinal cord and death while he was in police custody.

Kelly’s racial hostility came out early and in what seemed a Freudian slip.

KELLY: So when you people, when you hear people say there need to be murder charges – ‘cause we’ve heard that, we’ve heard that from some of the folks leading these protests, they need to be charged with murder – you don’t agree with that yet.

Downs replied, “At this point, all we agree with is that there should be a thorough investigation.” Downs added that “we can’t say” if a murder charge or any other charge is appropriate.

Kelly sounded pleasantly surprised as she responded, “That’s exactly fair, that’s the point that I have been trying to make as an attorney on this show.”

And yet, Kelly spent the rest of the segment badgering Downs to blindly promise he’d accept an exoneration. Below are just some of the "questions" she testily put to Downs:

KELLY: What if they make a determination that no charges are appropriate. Would you accept that? Would the family accept that?

KELLY: The state’s attorney, Marilyn Mosby – she’s African American, I’m just taking the race issue out of it because that’s been an issue in other cases like this… and the police chief is African American and the mayor is as well. Will you accept her determination?

KELLY (interrupting belligerently) We were told in Ferguson the fact that it was a white DA investigating a case that involved a black decedent that that was relevant and they were suggesting that for that reason among others he could not be impartial. So I ask you… do you think that this DA can be impartial…?

KELLY: If they do not (charge the police), are you prepared to turn to those protesters and say justice has run its course, the system has done what the system is designed to do and now let’s work to reform the system if we want to but this is the result?

KELLY (interrupting) But you’re not saying that you’ll accept (a decision not to prosecute). OK, I understand. You’re not saying that you’ll accept it. That’s tough, I mean that’s tough. You really have the opportunity now before you get the results to say you’ll accept it either way. Either you trust in the system and the folks running it or you don’t. That’s the way either you do or you don’t. They’ve told you what the process is.

…You’re leaving yourself wiggle room to challenge it if you don’t like the result which will undermine your protest if you do wind up having to make one, sir. I mean, that’s just the way it is.

But Kelly is in no position to lecture anyone else about accepting the results of an investigation. Kelly previously orchestrated a series of racial attacks – over at least 45 segments – on then-Attorney General Eric Holder for declining to prosecute some members of the New Black Panther Party for voter intimidation. Even though no voter intimidation had occurred. Later, the allegations were discredited. But Kelly’s “whistleblower” source was not “undermined.” She still turns to him as a credible guest to make racial attacks on Holder (though she turned suddenly silent about this one).
