Seeking Broken Bridges

We’re about to get a lot more serious in our steps as Mercury (thoughts, communications) moves from happy go lucky Sagittarius, into enterprising Capricorn on Wednesday December 9. Rather than gamble and hope for the best, we’ll quietly eye up opportunities (and weaknesses) during the next three weeks – looking for something to land on that is stable, safe and secure.

Strong connections like stable bridges aren’t built from good intentions and promises; but from determination and hard work. In understanding this, we’ll cautiously be ‘on the lookout’ for something (or someone) that proves to be solid, real and trustworthy.

In the face of unjust criticism we can become bitter or better; upset or understanding; hostile or humble; furious or forgiving. William Arthur Ward

With Mercury in frowning Capricorn, we can complain, critique and put a damper on the holiday mood – or we can strategically educate, to empower and strengthen. The choice is ours, but it may not seem so as last week’s violent Mars/Pluto square opposes rebellious Uranus on Thursday December 10. Unexpected changes are in the air this week, along with finicky minds, arguments, accidents, electrical issues, fires and powerful storms.

The opposite of love is not hate, it’s indifference. The opposite of art is not ugliness, it’s indifference. The opposite of faith is not heresy, it’s indifference. And the opposite of life is not death, it’s indifference. Elie Wiesel

The New Moon on Friday, December 11 encourages a new emotional approach for new beginnings and projects. As we quietly slip away from the outside world, we’ll reconnect with ourselves. Thoughts, feelings and intentions will start the process of planting our New Moon seeds. This is a creative cycle to produce gain and growth, so it’s wise to stay both productive and positive – as we slowly become our thoughts.

With the New Moon in Gypsy Sagittarius, there will be an urge to stray as cravings for freedom and excitement increase. The challenging square between the New Moon and inflated Jupiter will dare us to push the gate open, but to also kick down a few fences – just because it feels good to do so. But how far we actually get will be another story with restrictive Saturn in Sagittarius. A broken bridge may be an easy way out…. or it may be the reason we’re forced to turn around, to face ourselves. But chasing the dream may seem worth the risk in Friday’s Venus/Neptune trine.
