There are times that you find a book that is so clarifying, so illuminating that it changes completely the way you process information. I read Rachel Maddow's newest book, "Blowout" this week. I found myself saying, "Of course!" several times as all of the pieces of the puzzle that is the Trump-Russia connection fell into place. I recommend you all read it as soon as possible.

It also puts in stark contrast how inadequate these shows are this moment. We focus on the Sunday shows because the way they frame the news of the debate invariably influences all the other news coverage for the week. But all of these shows are still acting as if there's some question as to whether Trump is acting in this country or Russia's best interests. They're still treating Trump as if he was just the vulgar showman of "The Apprentice" instead of a compromised asset of Vladimir Putin.

Maybe we should send a copy of the book to all the hosts to see if they finally get it too.
