Stuart Stevens, a Republican strategist and campaign manager for five GOP presidents, took aim at Georgia's GOP Lt. Gov. after he revealed that he chose to sit the election out rather than to vote for Herschel Walker or the Democratic candidate, Rev. Sen. Raphael Warnock. It shouldn't have been such a tough decision. Walker is batshit crazy, and Warnock is a genuinely good person.

Georgia Republican Lieutenant Governor Geoff Duncan said on Friday that he showed up to vote but just couldn't cast a ballot for either candidate.

"I showed up to vote this morning. I was one of those folks who got in line and spent about an hour waiting, and you know, it was the most disappointing ballot I've ever stared at in my entire life since I started voting," he said. "You know, I had two candidates that I just couldn't find anything that made sense for me to put my vote behind. And so I walked out of that ballot box, showing up to vote but not voting for either one of them."

Jonathan Capehart played that clip, and asked Stevens if that gave Republicans a way out of voting for Walker.

"Look, I am not a fan of what the Lieutenant Governor did here. I think it is a cop-out," Stevens said. "You need to vote. What he said is I chose not to vote. It does not matter if he stood in line or he just did not show up. Look, I spent 30 years pointing at a different party in a pretty good street cred here."

"He should go for Warnock. He is a reasonable human being, and has been a good Senator, and he's a likable person. And he is dedicated to the idea of public service. You may not agree with this, you may not agree with that, but he is not in the party that for the most part, still is silent on the overthrow the United States government."

"That seems to be, like, not a difficult decision to make. So, yes, he probably is giving permission to some Republicans not to vote for Herschel Walker, but Herschel Walker, his whole candidacy is an absurdity, and everybody knows it. Georgia is going to have two senators just like California, and if you want someone who is going to make a case for you, help bring in jobs and fight for Georgia when it is time to get federal funding, or do you want Herschel Walker up there talking about vampires and werewolves?"

Is it that hard for a Republican to pull the lever for a Democrat, and one who is a good man, a hard-working Senator, and doesn't play Russian roulette in his spare time? Or hold a gun to his wife's head? And he knows how many children he has. How did we get to this place?
