Former New York City mayor Bill de Blasio smacked down Sean Hannity's ridiculous attacks on new Democrats and made such a strong case for Roy Jackson that Hannity abruptly ended the segment.
The only talking point Republicans have leading up to the midterms is to characterize the entire Democratic Party as communist socialist American haters.
It's not going well. Hannity whined that Democrats won't adequately criticize Democratic candidates Republicans have targeted.
"Why won't anyone else criticize them that's elected," Hannity said.
Now you have Bill Maher - now Chris Matthews - you have Mark Penn. You have Joe Manchin. You have, you know, you have former Obama people like Van Jones and Rahm Emanuel."
"They're all critical and saying these people are nuts and they're gonna hurt the party," he reiterated.
Sean used idiots like Mark Penn, Joe Manchin and Bill Maher as supposed torchbearers for the Democratic Party, which is laughable.
"Do you think that's gonna do you think that's gonna end?" Hannity asked.
DEBLASIO: Yeah, I think what's gonna happen. First of all, you're mischaracterizing what's going on.
Progressives are winning because people want change. They want higher taxes on the billionaires. They want more money back in their pocket, and what Trump is doing with the war in Iran, and so many other things is exactly the opposite. He is taking money away from people and is making their life harder.
So here's the bottom line: Troy Jackson. You mentioned Troy Jackson. This guy is your worst nightmare politically, Sean.
He's a lumberjack. He's a Catholic guy from northern Maine who fought for working people. He's gonna win that race, and the fact that we're even talking about the Democrats could win.
HANNITY: What's the story? There's the accusation he threw a bottle at a woman and has a vile temper and --
DEBLASIO: You're talking about in 19, he hit a guy, and that's your reason? The guy that's gonna be a US Senator?
HANNIY: Alright, I gotta go. Let me leave you with --
DEBLASIO: He's gonna win in Maine, and it's gonna change everything, Sean.
Watching the end of the segment, it didn't even seem like Hannity even believed the nonsense he was throwing out.
If Sean had to wrap the segment up, time-wise, it didn't stop him from spending several more minutes inviting de Blasio to Florida for a steak dinner.
In 1988, Jackson admitted punching a man as a teenager. Republicans would brag about this if Jackson were a Republican.
Jackson and his "longtime partner Lana Pelletier disputed that he had pushed her after the Bangor Daily News obtained and reported on a police report that detailed the nearly 40-year-old allegations."
De Blasio easily dispatched all of Hannity's attacks and showed he can match the Fox News host at his own game.
