Booker T & The MG's - shaped the sound of Memphis Soul.

Back to the 60's this weekend with a concert by Booker T & The MGs recorded live at The Matrix Theater in San Francisco on April 15, 1968. Almost 90 minutes worth.

The backbone of Stax-Volt Records throughout the 1960's, as house band backing some of the greatest Soul and Blues classics of the time Booker T & The MGs achieved legend status even before the decade was over. Consistently good, a string of memorable hits and one of the tightest ensembles in the business, Booker T & The MGs shaped the sound of Southern Soul and Memphis Soul - and it comes as no surprise they have been inducted into the Rock n' Roll Hall of Fame.

If you've never had the chance to hear them live - you get to do that right now. The sound is great and the band is fantastic. Works for me.
