Something not so completely familiar tonight. Well, Scritti Politti did have several top 20 singles here in the states during the 80's. But for the most part they aren't the first band you'd think of when the subject of 80's music comes around. I couldn't explain why. They've had a big following in the UK and the Continent for a long time and they've released a lot of great material over the years. And even though they've gone through numerous personnel changes since their inception in 1977, they are still together (even with no original members) and still recording.

Tonight's track is off a 12" I've had since it first came out. The Word Girl/Flesh & Blood (featuring Ranking Ann) is one of my all-time favorites.
