These guys are probably best known for their 90s hit, "No Rain". While it's a great song that got the band the recognition they deserved, it overshadowed much of their other quality material. For instance, "Tones of Home" is a funky rocker that showcases a bit of the band's versatility: drifting away from their typically spacey sound for something more energetic, while still retaining their psychedelic roots. This and many other songs off their first album showed just how much potential the band had to mature and improve on their sound. However, their career together was tragically cut short by their lead singer's death, shortly after the release of their second album. While they did endeavor to continue as a group for a while, their efforts would eventually deteriorate, leaving us listeners with nothing more than some great tunes.

Know any good departures from a band's usual style?
