Boy, Campaign Ads Are Getting Really Tough

via Wonkette:

The frightening part is that this may not be too far off from what real Giuliani supporters say.

LOL

The lawlz is strong in this one.

The campaign is probably looking at this and trying to decide if there is anything they would need to change if they adopted the content. ;)

ROTFLMAO!

Er... are you sure this WASN'T for real?

He doesn't get pushed around by women? I thought he was being led around through the nose by this latest wife of his.

Hey man I don't see what the big deal is...I've had a plunger in my ass for years and I still feel the need to off Rudy "da zionist" Jewliani.
PS this is not ment to be anti-semetic, my mothers a jew for christ sake. :)

LOL! Well done, you offended two religions in a single sentence! LOLOLOL!

That was great!

I think it was George Bernard Shaw, who while at a dinner party the conversation turned to religion. An old dowager asked him what denomination he was in, and he answered, "Madam, I am an atheist and I thank God for it!"

I always picture her as the dowager.

Hott!!

Can't seem to find any bathing suit pictures though.

Why the meme of calling Rudy by his rightful, and more accurate, name of "Ghouliani" hasn't caught on yet is beyond me.

My favorite Ghouliani piece so far is this bit where:

Ghouliani Runs For President of 9/!!

In a similar vein, it's amazing to me how prescient this opening scene from Terry Gilliam's Brazil, written by Tom Stoppard, in the mid 1980s, has turned out to be, on several levels.

What I find remarkably eerie is just how close the verbiage of the "Mr. Helpmann" character in this clip hews to the spew that we hear from the Freeper/Malkin/Coulter/FoxNews/Derbyshire/National Review/Bill Kristol wing nut contingent.

It's almost verbatim from what you hear coming from the mouths of any of these verminous creeps today.

And how long do you think it will be that the Bush Administration floats the idea of detainees having to pay for their torture, if it isn't happening already?

INTERVIEWER
Deputy minister, what do you believe
is behind this recent increase in
terrorist bombings?

HELPMANN
Bad sportsmanship. A ruthless
minority of people seems to have
forgotten certain good old fashioned
virtues. They just can't stand
seeing the other fellow win....

INTERVIEWER
Do you think that the government
is winning the battle against
terrorists?

HELPMANN
On yes. Our morale is much higher
than theirs, we're fielding all
their strokes, running a lot of
them out, and pretty consistently
knocking them for six. I'd say
they're nearly out of the game.

INTERVIEWER
But the bombing campaign is now in
its thirteenth year...

HELPMANN
Beginners luck....

Reedman @ 8:

boosh is anti-semantic.

Geeez, you had me in tears, that's the funniest line I've ever heard.

If you think it's important enough to post, could you include a summary or something for those of us on dialup?

And how long do you think it will be that the Bush Administration floats the idea of detainees having to pay for their torture, if it isn’t happening already?

During the witch hunts the accused were charged with the cost of the torturers time and methods.

In rare cases where they were acquitted, they were often kept in jail until their debt was paid.

Holy Weirdness Batman!!

Rudy is a closet transvestite who's ad talks about sticking a plunger up a mans ass, putting pins in men's genitalia and the ad ends with a declaration that he has balls.

So what exactly is the message here, and who is the target market...Castro Street S/M dudes?

I've said all along that those detention centers are for the illegal immigrants; they'd make fine slaves.

No. Republicans and closet sadomasochists. Or is that redundant?

I more prefer nipple clamps and riding crops, with the ocassional electrical shock to keep things amusing.

Definitely an all new low in campaign advertising.
This guy is so representative of the demographic they are going after.
Macho, narrow minded, sexist, middle aged white collar assholes.

BTW,The guy forgot to mention some other groups Rudy wasn't "afraid to deal with".
The "Poor" Black" and "Vulnerable" contingent.

That sounds SO MUCH like a lot of people I know.

I don't see how anyone can watch this and not either get offended or decide that it's a total hoax.

He doesn't get pushed around by women; shoving plungers up a guys ass, jew-liani, he's Italian like I'm Polish, and the luck thing . . that one made my jaw drop - luck that McCain was shot out of the air and luck that Mitt was born Mormon. Wow just wow that commercial is firing on all cylinders.

But you know I hope they do run it as a serious commercial. Oh the shock on the airwaves would totally be worth having to watch that again.

I think you meant Folsom street (Castro street is nearly completely straight/dead these days, but ignorance is bliss). Ghouliani is dangerous, this "commercial" is funny.

LOL!

That guy's a scary terrorist-type I fear will follow an American home. Another frilly pink dress wearin' Citizen for Rotten Rudy!

Hey, Giuliani has watched tv. He wants to make sure everyone is covered.

Remember when Dan (John Laroquette) was running for Office on Night Court. He lost by one vote. And guess who voted against him. His foil, Bull. And of course we remember Bull's comment...

"I guess you underestimated the 'Mutant Vote', eh Dan?"

I missed the satire tag in this post.
Doh! Oh well-its really getting harder and harder to separate fact from fiction these daze.

What happened to the Ann Coulter and Bill O'Really ads that used to be on this site?

I had a Jimmy the Cab Driver flashback while seeing this one.

nsr @ 16:

With the levels of (possible) sarcasm in this, it seems a little difficult to summarize. But, if you wanna download it, you can. It might take a bit on dial-up, but I think it's worth it.

To download YouTube vids, click the pic of the small version, which will take you to the original page. Then, pause the vid to stop it from streaming and eating up your processor speed. If you use Safari (an Apple browser, which now has a Windows version), just pull down the "Window" menu to "Activity." A new window will appear that shows you all the files open in the browser, sorted by page. Find the YouTube page (which would be the only one if that's the only window you have open), and look for the biggest file (it should still be downloading, which will be denoted by X MB of Total MB). That will be the Flash Vid (.flv) file for the video. Double-click the file in the Activity window list, and it will start downloading to the desktop or your default download location. Then, to save bandwidth, close the original YouTube page. When it's downloaded, rename the file with a .flv at the end so your programs recognize it as such, and voila! You've got your own copy to watch whenever...

I thought this might also be helpful for those who wanna archive.

You're absolutely correct: education is far overrated. It's only for those damned "elitist" liberals, wherein educated=elitist.
BTW, it's "Hear, hear!" meaning "Listen up!" not "here, here," meaning "where I am."
I know it's sometimes arduous and painful to use one's brain, but I say, "give it a shot." It does have some benefits.

Site Monitor: Be nice to tyree. We're not going to be spelling/grammar trolls here. If you understand what he's saying, let it go.

Totally disgusting and typically unmasculine Rethug. bullshit and hatred.

One thing I notice lately in the media is the downplay of the stereotypes. Same thing happen when Vietnam was under way. We had a lot of happy show on the air. I think this hatred for the minority have put most of the minority on alert for stereotype that are being represented. Makes me wonder if all the negative slander on minority in the media had a part in creating this fear base political far right party?

Far too many time I catch a right winger express hatred for poor people and the health care/welfare system.

I know this, because I had a 6 year old niece ask her mother why are all black people bad? My sister ask her where did she hear that, and she said she was watching a TV show that show police officer arresting people, and mostly were blacks that were getting busted, and getting busted much more violently then when a white person violate the law.

The crime that Libby committed was heinous, where as most of the violent crimes that you see on cop's show are crime of desperation.

Did I hear that right?

He knows exactly how to deal with immigrants. SHOOT THEM!!

that one sure stood out.

Site Monitor: Be nice to tyree. We're not going to be spelling/grammar trolls here. If you understand what he's saying, let it go.

To a point, I think you're mistaking constructive criticism for hostility.

Generally, the only reason I'd feel better from pointing out people's mistakes is to see them learn or for all of us to benefit from said learning.

However, conflating education and elitism is a real problem -- and one that I think should be fought at all costs. When someone gets criticized for passing along knowledge, the respondent is likely being defensive/hostile (e.g., trying to demean the speaker by throwing out the label "liberal" as though it were a bad thing) and ad hominem.

I understood what tyree was saying, but I think tyree could benefit from knowing what tyree was saying, too.

Spelling out the difference between "here, here" and "hear, hear" isn't a matter of spelling and grammar. There's a difference in meaning between the two that goes beyond everyday semantic miscommunication. The common misquoting of the saying contributes to our general lack of historical knowledge, and I don't mean to be an obnoxious prick in pointing it out, despite that I can see it coming across that way.

I did mean to be an obnoxious prick with the "arduous and painful" remark, but I get a bit reactive when people assertively diss education. We all have our shortcomings...

>He doesn’t get pushed around by women?
Yes, that is why he ran away from running against Hillary to be NY Senator.

The only thing that would make this satire ad even better would be to lay the audio track over the video of Mr. Giuliani being petted and mauled by Donald Trump.

Hate to break it to you, but Owsley Stanley has been living in Australia since 1996.

Is that a parody or not? Supposedly (at least according to Wonkette, and I browsed around a little bit) the link at the end is to Rudy's real site. But surely they wouldn't openly make an ad like that? Scary thing is, whether it's fake or not, you know that's what Rudy supporters are like....and the clamps etc. mentioned above are likely relevant too...

[...] Giuliani has a fascinating new ad (via Crooks and Liars): [...]

Lets ask his first wife, his cousin about those balls. Was that nut sack heavy?

It is apparent the far right wing News papers and Media that want to choose who the Democratic primary candidate will be actually pays attention to what real democrats want and are attempting to choose for us as they have consistently done through out this sick administration.

They are stupid, but not as stupid as we give them credit for because they do read this wonderful blog page and who could blame them for doing so, because we actually know exactly who we are going to vote for and it scares the shit out of them which is why we get these skewed poll numbers each day.

They know that they will not be able to overcome the candidate they know we will really choose, which will be no where near the one they choose for us, using the skewed polling data they feed us each day.

The days of stupid Democrats are over as they now know they are dealing with the real world and we will never allow them to blow smoke up our asses and if Democrats were smart and many of the elected officials are not, they would demand that real polling that is done with all parties involved in the information that is asked and know whom it is asked, to be a part of the process and discontinue the current trend, they are feeding us and it would be a shock at the difference in numbers we would truly get and the sick group of thugs on the Republican ticket would fold up their tents and go somewhere and hide, with this kind of truth and honesty in our polling data.

I say the above, because I also include the article in USA Today as with most all of the right wing, republican purchased news papers and all around media in this country who sell us nothing but Lie's and distortions of fact.

We need to continue to not subscribe to any of them as we have become accustomed to doing in the last seven years of this administration because we will not get anything but what they give us now, LIES.

PS: They can continue to say that Air America and our beloved progressive media is out of touch if they want, but we know they are also lying to keep our voices from being heard. We do not need the right wing gang of thugs that are currently all over the air waves deciding what we want to hear. We are all adults and smart enough to know that we do not want to hear the bull shit they are feeding us no matter how popular they tell us they are.

We want the truth in our media and the only way to get it is to add a progressive voice to destroy the Lie's that are told by all of them. We do not want any of them removed at all. Please keep them on air because we will not be able to do their asses in if we get rid of them. We will allow them to remove themselves when they know they have to contend with truth.

I agree with big Eddy.

Please Lord Jesus, tell me this is a joke. It is, right? There really isn't someone walking, let alone DRIVING, around with this much idiocy is there? The Towers fell on Guiliani and he walked out unscathed? Romney was unlucky to be born Mormon? Tacitly condonding the brutal torture of an innocent man?

Please tell me this is a joke or I'll have to go find this guy and shove something up HIS ass! No, not that! With this jerk, I wouldn't even with yours! :)

This is terrifying because it's a serious ad.

This is the sickest commercial I have ever seen.
Advertising the sickest politician since..... Dick Cheney.

Come on guys, it's clearly satire.

No. it's not. go to the link at the end - it's the real deal.

Fuster

Fuster - At first I thought there's no way this was an
"official" ad. But I did some sleuthing on MySpace and
there's some woman there who's been pushing the clip
on some of the conservative MS groups. Turns out that
she got it posted on the comments section of the
Official Giuliani page. Not only did they let the post
stay up there (they have to approve html code for
their comments section), but they even sent her a
comment back that they liked it!! So whether it was
official before or not, they've endorsed it now! Check
it out: http://www.myspace.com/33617137

Of course, it still doesn't answer the question of who
really put it up there or whether it was intended as satire or not, but that really doesn't matter anymore. It's the real deal now!

This guy is so pathetic. Doesn't he know that family names go way back down through the line? What a fool this guy is. And if he wants to get started talking about 9/11 and Guiliani he doesn't want to go there because he will be disappointed and Guiliani ran NYC like he was a total fascists.

Oh I wonder if this guy knows that Guiliani likes to go around and dress up as a woman and how he'd feel about that and marrying his second cousin.
