Mike's Blog Round Up

It’s one thing for Bush/Cheney to lie us into war, but a rude guest who won’t leave is simply unforgivable. And why won’t Bush say “Howdy” to the Saudis?

John Edwards’ ‘Two Americas’ Campaign, in the The New Gilded Age.

Practice makes perfect: even Diebold needs a straw poll to fine-tune its fraud for the real elections.

Keeping score, on the GOP whores.

Assuming you’re against more draconian measures, here’s How to Win a Fight with a Conservative.

Money, corruption, oil, blood, and the msm...these are the tools and the profit of the Plutocrats!!!!
Come together and defund the MsM. Defund the mega corps, sell your SuV, don't go to that major league game, don't buy that 6 pack of Bud....DEFUND them. Don't watch the sewer that is network TV, don't buy that newspaper.

These are your only weapons against the Plutocrats because they own you, your house, your car, your kids, their teachers, your local newscaster, your policial "leaders" everything except...your will to live and win as true Americans!!

Webb had every reason to deck the obnoxious, sniveling Graham. I admire his control.

WASHINGTON - The Senate confirmed Pete Geren on Friday to be secretary of the Army, four months after his predecessor resigned amid outrage over conditions at Walter Reed Army Medical Center.

Uh hello? Is there anybody in there?

Saudi's are Bush family's best friends. They openly deal with the Bin-Laden family. You still think this war is about terror?

Hah! John Edwards is rich. Literally and figuratively.

So let me get this correct: he's out there trying to convince people that he's truly concerned about the divide created by the "two Americas" while at the same time investing in equity funds that help to exascerbate the wealth gap in this country?

Geez, you really CAN fool some of the people all of the time.

Yep, between Hilary and Obama and Edwards and Giuliani and Romney, et al, we truly do have a vast array of talent and diversity of ideas in the 2008 presidential campaign.

The "New Gilded Age" is in good hands with this group.

Webb, and his noob friend Tester, don't want us to have Haebeus Corpus back!! They also voted for funding the war...mixed signals from so called new blood.

Hell I'm surprised no one in the running is promising a Dow of 36,000 that will create infinite wealth for everyone requiring no effort or productive work.

Los Populistos has a great point.

I'm not terribly excited that the Democrat Party seems so willing to afix itself to the military. It's becoming vogue for teevee talking heads to say that Democrats are *finally* beginning to speak not just intellectually, but emotionally, about the war, like this is a good thing.

Frankly, it scares the poop out of me.

They have no choice. Without war spending the economy would completely fall apart. Instantly and swiftly.

Consumer spending must also continue supporting the economy. Mortgage the future is what we've done. This country has the WORST savings rate (citizens); people are in debt well beyond their means of repaying; the future looks bleak -- but the bulls are running on Wall St. -- what gives?

Orwell's Illegitimate Son's picture

Moreover, without China buying our Treasuries and our cheap dollar, our economy would plummet down to the depths of the earth. Instantly and swiftly.

It's China that keeps our economy afloat, not necessarily war spending, but I get your assertion, and agree with it.

Why are the bulls charging on Wall Street? One word: equity. Private, at that.

Merger and acquisition (M&A in Wall Street jargon) activity has been fast and furious this year. Private equity groups and hedge funds have been snapping up public corporations at a head-spinning pace this year, and there's still quite a bit of this equity remaining in the markets.

Y'see, the stock market never has been a gauge for the overall economy. It's only a tracking device of how much money the rich and powerful still have to spend and, in turn, but up everything and anything in sight.

Once this game comes to an end, you'll see the market crash with a thud that will make 1929 look like a summer Sunday afternoon picnic in the park. The higher the stock market goes up, all the harder the fall will be.

Los Populistos's picture

well then let's reinvent our economy based on local production and distribution, and get away from the uber corps and their chinese goods. in minneapolis we can shop at stores that sell all natural/organic food, clothing, toilet paper, toothpaste, etc. we need those in every town and every state. tired of subsidizing farmers? let them grow hemp and cotton for natural fiber clothes, and fruits and veggies to eat.

we are the USA and can do anything!!! defund the big refund the small...thats all!!

Orwell's -- you're right. The hedge funds & private equity firms are running amok. I caught some of Jim Cramer on Timmeh's show the other day. If I remember correctly, there's some $9 TRILLION invested in hedge funds. Cramer said that never in the history of this country has such wealth been so concentrated -- basically among 100 of the fattest fat cats.

The disparity of the haves and the have nots should give everyone pause!

And then there is the recent revelation that the food safety of this country is probably not much of a target for the terrorists at this point because the job of slow poison is ALREADY being handled very well by the FDA. And the big food corporations that have the U.S. riddled with GM grain that even China does not want. And of course every freaking politician in D.C. is in the pocket of Big Pharm and their "life saving" drugs.

Orwell's Illegitimate Son's picture

Los Populistos.

Great idea, but there's only one problem: what you described is pure communism, which was forever destroyed when the Globalist Elite took over the Soviet Union and gave its ruling party the "Communist" moniker. And, any true student of history can tell you that the USSR was communist in the same way that Iraq is a democracy.

Now, you realize what the salient point of Iraq is: to undermine and discredit democracy, a la true communism.

To be a player at the hedge fund table usually requires a huge ante. Private investment partnerships made up of deep pocket individuals participate in this game. Average investors are not invited or welcome to take part in the bounty. The middle-class sure has been bent over these past few years.

John--

You need to be made aware that the book "How To Win a Fight With a Conservative" may be all shuck & jive. The SAME GUY, one Daniel Kurtzman, also wrote "How To Win A Fight With A Liberal." (There's an ad for it on the very page you linked!)

Somehow, I get the feeling that this clown can't possibly be serious...
