The colonoscopy that really hurt!

and nothing will be done about it. The dems think bush is going to leave quietly after this.
I won't take any bets on that.

has anyone noticed the US ordinance that has appeared in so many summer movies?
has anyone noticed the number of summer movies with torture as part of the story?

F4 - ordinance and torture
Xformers - torture and ordinance
diehard - torture and lots of ordinance
shooter - torture and light ordinance but add assassination
HPotter - torture and delight in it.

I'm excluding the horror genre on purpose.

I wish someone would produce the tape of bush, when the bombs first started falling on Baghdad, when he pumped his fist and said with great satisfaction, "Feel good!" I bet he's prouder of that moment than anything else he's done in his sordid life.

When the bombs rained down their death and destruction, 50 percent of the population of Baghdad consisted of children under the age of 15 years.

Kudos to Nick Anderson. He is amazing.

On Thursday morning, July 19th, the beloved GOP talking point "up or down vote" was officially declared dead. Its demise was little noticed in the aftermath of the Senate Republicans' successful all-night filibuster to block the Reed-Levin bill seeking to begin U.S. troop withdrawals from Iraq. "Up or down vote" was killed by a desperate Republican Party trying to obstruct Democratic accomplishments at any cost in advance of the 2008 elections. And so far, the GOP seems to be getting away with the crime.

For the details, see:
"Up or Down Vote: Death of a GOP Talking Point."

Um,

HAS ANYONE NOTICE THE PROBLEMS WITH TURKEY?

OR PAKISTAN?

Sphinx @ 14:

OR PAKISTAN?

The White House has!
What's with all the caps, sphinx?

PNAAC Minister @ 9:

"Apologies to Gorillaz.."

I long for the day when W makes an apology. Maybe in another universe..

Apologize for what? Remember, he is the chosen one!

Sphinx...I have noticed but I get my information from various news sources including some from outside the United States. The one region that has enjoyed some sense of order is the region the Kurds are in. This also means they are more organized to speak with a clear voice and oppose the Hydrocarbon Law that the Bush Administration is trying to force feed to the Iraqi Parliament. I have read reports where the groups causing conflict around the Turkish border have been getting weapons with the help of some US people. This has not been fully confirmed, but it certainly wouldn't surprise me.

Gonzo D,

Sorry about that. I must admit I have no clue about wordpress or how to use it, although many would say DUH. Besides, my caps fit seems to me to fit the occasion. It does not seem to me that American news is telling people how serious this is. Guess I was being an ass according to the powers that be.

imho, Pakistan has ALWAYS been the most important player in the game.

AS some of you probably know, I used to work as a courrier here in Houston. And as such I did do deliveries and pick-ups to and from the Houston Chronic (as I like to call it.) And of course the HC is part of the MSM, so it's hard to trust it in many cases. But I did notice something about their temporary badge they gave me, so I decided to save and scan one of 'em -

http://www.thesequencers.us/various/chrontempbadge.jpg

Sometimes I wonder if they got folk working over there that would like to get a message out but they can't through their print media ...

I sometimes also wonder the same thing about the Salt Lake Tribune/Deseret (or as I like to call "despairate") News (they're one and the same thing, thanks to some lousy 1921 (I think) law that allowed monopolization of newspapers.)

Oh and Gonzo, what do you mean that the White House has noticed?

yaaay houston
probably the best thing about the chronicle is that on sundays, you get all these advertisements...
oh wait, everybody gets those

They say that zawahiri himself is commanding the effort against mussharif. Which makes sense given an overthrow would be his best shot at getting a bomb.

Wow, what a bunch of kitties.

Here, kitty, kitty, kitty.

Pakistan has nukes.

Anyone ever heard of the ISI?

Sphinx @ 13:

Um,

HAS ANYONE NOTICE THE PROBLEMS WITH TURKEYOR PAKISTAN?

I know what you mean, and we need to be worried!
You know too much for your own good and some people here don't have a clue! Don’t let the future scare you too much. Sleep well my friend!

It's something about those countries with my name in them. It really isn't my fault!!!! They were named before I was born. Seriously!!!!

Stan

OMG! Stanley! ;)

The Stans are so totally real. I thought it must be your fault. Now I know better!

Bwahahahahahaha.

How do they sleep at night, I know I can't!

IF RUSSIA ATTACKED TURKEY FROM THE REAR,WOULD GREECE HELP?????????????

'Feel Good?'

Not really, not unless you have, as Bush/Cheney/Rove have done, sold your soul to the Devil.

When the bombs rained down their death and destruction, 50 percent of the population of Baghdad consisted of children under the age of 15 years.

I was on the ship that started it all off. It wasn't easy for a lot of us. I don't think I would have made it if it weren't for the Chaplain on board. That was true for a lot of us.
Knowing that my job directly contributed to the deaths of so many innocent Iraqis really screwed me up though.

If any of you military people out there are having stress or depression problems and are planning to separate from the military, DO NOT let the doctors put you on medication.
I know that sounds crazy but if you go on meds, you'll never get health insurance on the outside. Another "feel good" moment for the decider. Send the troops off to war and make it damn near impossible for them to get medical care when they get back.

Jon, Nicole, et al,
There's a story in that, if you are interested.

Tim in Japan.

Thank you for that for that comment!

Christ, it's pathetic how clearly the mainstream media is owned and controlled by right-wing interests.

I have stopped turning on MSNBC in the morning, because of the loathsome Joe Scarborough. This morning, he and Pat Buchanan are cackling about how "extreme" Harry Reid is in his language and how it's the Democrats' fault that they're not getting anything accomplished.

This Through-The-Looking-Glass BULLSH*T really gets me steamed. It's really discouraging to watch, in real time, the media accept and propagate the official RNC talking points as reality.

Are we operating on the assumption that jumping up and down and screaming about these issues long and loud enough will change anything? Because it's really hard to see that right now.

The Winger fools are becoming increasingly hysterical in their determined defense of the Fool's Quest that is Bush's Iraq Adventure.

On yesterday's MTP, Neo-con David Brooks weakly attempted to justify the thousands of U.S. casualties that would result from the Neo-con position that we will need to prop up our Iraq brothers (puppets) for decades to come.

According to Brooks' tortured argument, supposedly only our valiant troops are keeping the Bad Guys from killing 10,000 good Iraqis every month until the end of time. This in David's mind morally justifies the relatively small number of U.S. casualties (125 dead/month). The fact that the current (U.S. protected) situation in Iraq is routinely described as "chaotic" and "civil war" is disregarded, as is the several hundred dead bodies that are found dead every week.

Wasn't I surprised when that incredible statement was challenged? Bob Woodward told Brooks that he took the 10,000 number "out of the air," Brooks protested weakly, but finally admitted he made it up. Woodward should have suggested that David pulled the figure "out of his ass," which is were his whole defense of Bush came from. Shit in other words.

I'm an indep and I think that bu$h is on a mission from dog. He won't give up until he causes the end of the world (bomb, bomb, bomb everyone with nucular bombs - don't forget he's "the destroyer", just to make sure he completes his mission)

No offense, but I'm sick of all these cartoon characters of Bush and Cheney.

Tim, I am sorry for you and your shipmates. That is a lot to live with. I truly believe you were acting out of honorable intentions. You were deceived and manipulated in a criminal way. Your story does need to be told - LOUDLY. Would you consider sharing it with Michael Moore at his website? Your story ties two of his movies together.

I am sending you blessings of peace. Let your experience change you in ways that give you strength to fight for TRUTH and JUSTICE. Stoke the fires !

Bush is threatening to veto federal legislation that would renew the same partnership — the State Children's Health Insurance Program — and expand it to cover more of the nation's nearly 9 million uninsured children. If he follows through on that threat, Bush could face a first in his presidency: a veto override.

Oil refineries across the country have been plagued by a record number of fires, power failures, leaks, spills and breakdowns this year, causing dozens of them to shut down temporarily or trim production. The American Dream of riches for all is turning into a nightmare of inequality. - http://observer.guardian.co.uk/world/story/0,,2131974,00.html
"America's super-rich have returned to the days of the Roaring Twenties. As the rest of the country struggles to get by, a huge bubble of multi-millionaires lives almost in a parallel world. The rich now live in their own world of private education, private health care and gated mansions. They have their own schools and their own banks. They even travel apart - creating a booming industry of private jets and yachts. Their world now has a name, thanks to a new book by Wall Street Journal reporter Robert Frank which has dubbed it 'Richistan'.
here every dream can come true. But for the American Dream itself - which promises everyone can join the elite - the emergence of Richistan is a mixed blessing. 'We in America are heading towards 'developing nation' levels of inequality. We would become like Brazil. What does that say about us? What does that say about America?' Frank said."

Above the law Republicans, Outlawing Protest: President Bush's Executive Order: Revoking the Right to Dissent? - http://scoop.epluribusmedia.org/story/2007/7/22/105715/499

"The Bush administration, which has been pushing presidential power to new extremes, is reportedly developing an even more dangerous new theory of executive privilege. It says that if Congress holds White House officials in contempt for withholding important evidence in the U.S. attorney scandal, the Justice Department simply will not pursue the charges. This stance tears at the fabric of the Constitution and upends the rule of law." - http://www.iht.com/articles/2007/07/22/opinion/edbush.php

Apologies for redundancy (posted on another thread as well), but this is really important ...

Call Congress Today for Impeachment:

We've reached the impeachment moment for Vice Cocksucker Dick Cheney. The cosponsor list for H. Res. 333 has been pushed up to 14.

(H. Res. 333, Articles of Impeachment Against Dick Cheney, is sponsored by the following Members of Congress: Jan Schakowsky, Maxine Waters, Hank Johnson, Keith Ellison, Lynn Woolsey, Barbara Lee, Albert Wynn, William Lacy Clay, Dennis Kucinich, Yvette Clarke, Jim McDermott, Jim Moran, Bob Filner, Sam Farr, and probably Jesse Jackson Jr. Please thank them and encourage them to whip their colleagues.)

Chairman John Conyers says that if we get 3 more he'll begin the impeachment proceedings.

Many Congress Members must be recognizing that there is no other path available. Cheney and Bush have repeatedly refused to comply with subpoenas, ordered former staffers not to comply, and announced that the Justice Department will not enforce contempt citations from Congress. When a special prosecutor attempted to hold this administration accountable, Cheney's chief of staff obstructed justice, and Cheney persuaded Bush to commute his sentence. There is no course left for Congress but Impeachment. Check out www.ImpechCheney.org

Kucinich has detailed info on the Resolution at his site: http://kucinich.house.gov/SpotlightIssues/documents.htm

If you cannot be there, you can take two minutes today and do two things:

Phone Chairman Conyers at 202-225-5126 and ask him to start the impeachment of Dick Cheney; and phone your own Congress Member at 202-224-3121 and ask them to immediately call Conyers' office to express their support for impeachment. Your Congress Member might be one of the three needed, not just to keep impeachment activists out of jail but to keep this nation from devolving into dictatorship.

Down with the tyrants!

Stanley,

I did not know that we are fellow denizens of the "Bayou City"

some of the repukes who have been steadily giveing bush a blowjob every time he comes up with some evil act against us and humanity are now mouthing that its time to go against him vocaly but still rubber stamp his violations against the constitution will after the first of the yr allmost to a man or woman declare they were just misslead and will ask you to forgive them because theirs another election comming up and they want your vote, theses pukes like mcconnel and the rest of them will work their asses off to get another repig elected as president and return to the war mongers they allways were, i may not live to see it but god i hope the republican party is destroyed forever and that even just mentioning the name republican is a fellony!!!! their never has been a good republican ,never they are the scum of this earth , and any democrat that follows their teachings deserve the same fate!
