oreilly-dodd.jpg Continuing on Nicole's post, I've got the video of Dodd doing a great job of sticking up for Daily Kos in an excellent way. He told the truth. And when propagandists like BillO are confronted with the truth---heads explode.

And it didn't take much for Chris Dodd. He just pointed out some of the hateful words Factor Man said and bam! Instant meltdown.

O'Reilly hates us for our ideology and because we call him on out on his propaganda. PERIOD...."Thank you, Chris..."

O'Reilly is easy. It's the idiots he incites who are far more dangerous. Dodd knows it, and he is appealing to whatever brain stem is out there.

Good luck with that.

Someday, Billo is going to get what he deserves--a good, swift kick in the trinkets. He shoots his mouth off, doesn't listen to logic and I cannot understand what type of people would either listen to his bullshit or watch it. He is a pig!!

Wow. Billo really is an unhinged, rude & repulsive individual.

Good for Dodd! He put that asshat in his place and the asshat knew it.

Dodd: "Yes you did."

O'Reilly: "Where did I say it then?!"

Haha, what a fool Bill O'Reilly is.

That was absolutely fantastic. Chris Dodd deserves much applause.

Wow. Just saw the end with Billo inviting his audience to the site. 10 points for converting some of his people... assuming his demographic does internet tubes.

Zenrage's picture

Sorry Mark. Conservatives are too dependent on their parasitic status to care about social responsibility. To the conservative mindset, social responsibility begins and ends with personal greed.

They simply can't afford to admit it when another Conservative is feeding them bullshit. This is why Liberals will always be the better Americans. Liberals can admit mistakes so they can make for better decisions later on. Whereas conservative parasites need to feel they are the moral and social default in all things (so they can maintain that unearned advantage). So admitting they are wrong would just take that already shaky pedestal away from them and make them fight on even ground with everyone else.

Scott's picture

One word: Bravo!

Way to go Dodd. I am impressed with him like never before. That is EXACTLY how you go on O'Reilly's show if you go on at all. Well informed and ready to counter attack his lying, deceitful propaganda.

It wouldn't have been prudent to cut off a Senator's mike, he had to sit there and take it. Trouble is, the mouthbreathers will still believe Bill won that. The discourse is being won, but is anyone listening? If a tree fall in the forest...

Otay's picture

You know, if Coulter had manufactured a pic of Specter kissing Clinton, mAnn would have said "where's you sense of humor" to any complainers. And Orally would have either a) agreed with her or b) stayed completely silent on the matter. And Orally would have no problem inviting mAnn back on the show.

O'Reilly lost all credibility when in the beginning of his tirade he proclaimed Bush to be a patriot when in reality Bush has been the best recruiting tool that Al Qaeda could ever have hoped for. Impeach Bush and Cheney before they bring this country to utter ruin.

After that, I need to see the video of BillO questioning Miss America about those photos again. Can't remember which group gave that to Obermann, but it always makes me laugh. :D

it's simply unreal.

If Bill O'Really wants to see vile hatred he should go sift through the comments on a site like Little Green Footballs.

The Kos is one of the more standup and informative sites in the blogosphere and Dodd is 100% on point. Bill O is caught with his foot in his mouth once again denying he made comments about SF and Coit tower. The sad part is I'm sure his fans all think he completely dismantled Dodd...they'll never see the light.

Where Is It

I have yet to find the picture of Joseph, I wanna be a Republican, Lieberman on his knees begging Bush for food. Or. was he praying to him? Whatever, I have yet to see this picture. O'Reilly says its been up there for a year. How sure is he the picture has been on the site for a year?

Bill O'Reilly is a professional shit disturber, and I would not be surprised if he had someone post the picture on the site just so he could make the claim.

Talk about the pot calling the kettle black. This is hypocrisy at it best. The amount of hate filled comments generated from O'Reilly's site is far more outrageous as the content on the daily kos. O'Reilly does not recognize it as hateful comments because bigots think their opinions are fact. Why do you think we have a Fox News claiming they are legitimate? Fox news and their wannabees have a personal investment in opinions being viewed as fact. That is the core of their power. This very dynamic of opinion being viewed as fact is the subject of much misinformation, manipulation and misdirection.

O'Reilly did suggest that Dodd got that "smear" from MediaMatters. I bet they will have a field day with this tomorrow as they now have a lie backing up their original piece.
This year alone O'Reilly has been caught out so many times in his lies I wonder how anyone ever watches his garbage.

john's picture

There was a big debate on another thread about Mike Stark and his actions towards O'Reilly. I disagreed that what Mr. Stark did was helpful and some folks acted like that was wanting to roll over for the right. What Senator Dodd did was exactly what Democrats need to do. He was smart, articulate, knowledgeable and aggressive. He comes onto O'Reilly's show and humiliates him. He said exactly what needed to be said, that O'Reilly's objection was purely ideological. Everyone who isn't a kneejerk right winger knew that Dodd spoke the truth. O'Reilly lost control for a moment and the lies just started pouring out of his mouth. It was so enjoyable to watch. I would say he discredited O'Reilly but that would imply that O'Reilly had any credit left. You can be aggressive and beat the right without sinking to their level. It is harder because you have to use intelligence and facts. I watched it twice just to see the brilliant performance of Dodd. If more Democrats would stand up like this, the country would be a much better place. I am not sure who I will vote for as of yet, but this performance earned Senator Dodd a campaign contribution for me. You have to reward this sort of behavior.

Oh dear... is Mr. O'Reilly denying that he invited death and destruction upon the city that loves the American constitution like no other city has or ever will? Didn't he say something about bombing Coit Tower? Liar liar pants on fire. Jeesh, he seems to be reveling in his incipient plunge off the deep end.

By the way, God bless you site-leaders, for not including Dennis Miller in the clip. I personally do not enjoy watching a head-on collision and its aftermath. Unless it's Bill in the car of course, metaphorically speaking. (Do you think he understands symbolism and metaphor, or do you think he thinks I mean that literally? For a smart guy he is rather dumb.)

Bobdog's picture

O'reilly -- what a doofus.

I laughed out loud when he said he was brining Dennis Miller on, in essence to spin O'relly's inept performance. What a loser.

whizkid's picture

Of course Dodd was superb. He's a good Senator and isn't shy about speaking his mind.
I doubt he'll get the nomination but he is certainly among the more than half dozen running who have the stuff it takes.
Also, while the candidates are right to steer clear of a debate on Fox, I see nothing wrong with them appearing individually on various programs to throw down with the facts as Dodd did with BO. Even if Fox does follow the segment with the likes of Dennis Miller.
By the way, what happened to that man?
At one time he was one of America's foremost in comedy, and seemed grounded in reality and his generation.
How much did the RNC pay him to sell his soul and become old, cranky and wrong to appeal to FOX viewers? One of the saddest carreer moves extant has been Dennis Miller's embracing a tory posture.
The most hilarious thing he got off was calling Dodd a "hack" last night while he's long declared himself solid behind Rudy.
The typical FOX cast dual use of invective, ignorance and irony.

Dr. Matt's picture

Bill needs help. He spent 30 minutes on Dkos. Is this "real" news?

yet again, bill-o proves that he's nothing but a reich-wing POS.

whizkid's picture

I meant to say regarding Miller - the ONLY hilarious thing he got off was calling Dodd a “hack” while he’s long declared himself solid behind Rudy.
The typical FOX cast use of invective, ignorance and irony.

It's only too bad that O'Reilly-hater Ronald Reagan isn't alive so both he and Senator Dodd can tell O'Reilly:
"There you go again, Bill."
Senator Dodd good-guys O'Reilly to DEATH, and America loves him for it.
"Mr. O'Reilly -- tear down this, er, firewall, I think they call it."
[deleted--over the top] Wow, there's a man of honor and dignity. Arf!

Billo's type is nothing new. Any children of the 80's remember these two twats: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dSGj_Mzdg3c ?

Billo's show is just a cleaned-up version of this hilarious trash. Anybody agree?

"I'm the same kind of phony you are!" wouldn't it be great if some schmuck went on The All-Spin Zone that was like Billo and they re-enacted this drama?!

Bill O'Reilly = Wally George + Morton Downey, Jr. (remix)

(Unfortunately, it took Morton's terminal lung cancer to get him to finally open his eyes to his hate and ask the forgiveness of the people he slandered and spat on.)

First, they gave rush a chance to ruin monday night football. And his overt rascism cut that short. So they gave this dennis miller asshat a chance, and he almost did it. I wanna see Jon Stewart on mnf. That would be the bomb. And all this just reaffirms my belief that Mike Stark did a truly noble thing. Orally truly deserves every ounce of grief we can give.
As sorry an excuse for an American as there ever was.

I do not about Jon but Larry Wilmore definately!

Bill's head was shaking so much I could hear the bells on his hat jingling.

A buffoon extrordinaire. He sounds like what GW's classmates said about the Simian in Chief in college. He would make outlandish statements, and when they called him on it later, he would reply "I never said that!".

Two major players in our national tragic comedy.

Or two pieces of shit in the same bowl. How about a courtesy flush! (HT to Tom Arnold)

BTW, there's been no decent running water in most of the urban areas of Iraq for TWO WEEKS. Fortunately, the temperature has been down to 117 degrees, from 120 yesterday. No consistent electricity since the CPA screwed the pooch FOUR FUCKING YEARS AGO. But I'm sure there's plenty of both - in the vacation villas of the Shiite Iraqi Pairlament members. I would love to see a cessation of hostilities during the break. The people showing solidarity against the puppet government.

Well dreaming of peace is about all I have left.

As has been noted, the rightwing/GOP/FOX/Luntz must have research that compels them to fear Kos for the influence they hold.

When they smear it means they fear.
They fear their partison thug chokehold on power are threatened by too much truth being made available from any given source. (Plame, Edwards, Tillman, etc., etc.).

I watch the Dennis Miller show on HBO and I was totally surprise that it was nothing but a big cursing fest that he could be cursing a patch of watermelon, as most of his insult were intangible to anything relevant to the person he wanted to smack down. He was abstract in his humor so much that it was like watching a child learning how to insult. It was kind of scary to think he has a following with a certain group of people that love that shit.

post # 2 from tanglewood read:

"Someday, Billo is going to get what he deserves–a good, swift kick in the trinkets. He shoots his mouth off, doesn’t listen to logic and I cannot understand what type of people would either listen to his bullshit or watch it. He is a pig!!"

I'll quickly focus on the "I cannot understand what type of people would either listen to his bullshit or watch it" part.

Well, the ones watching are my religous nut, idiot Evangelical cousins up north (i'm from FL). I think they may also believe that the Earth is flat and the Sun is not the center of the universe so if you see them just keep that hush hush.

That ladies and gentleman...is who is watching Bill O Reilly.

The quote was:

"You know, if I'm the president of the United States, I walk right into Union Square, I set up my little presidential podium, and I say, "Listen, citizens of San Francisco, if you vote against military recruiting, you're not going to get another nickel in federal funds. Fine. You want to be your own country? Go right ahead."

"And if Al Qaeda comes in here and blows you up, we're not going to do anything about it. We're going to say, look, every other place in America is off limits to you, except San Francisco. You want to blow up the Coit Tower? Go ahead."

And you know what? Technically, he was right. He didn't say it on his TV SHOW; he said it on his RADIO SHOW. But that wasn't a comment from one of the people ON his radio show. It was a comment from O'REILLY HIMESELF.

What a lying punk. To claim that Dodd is a propagandist, when his entire EXISTENCE is devoted to being a propagandist.

Senator Dodd was incredible as he hung right in there with this freak. O'Riley has a hell of a lot of nerve to talk about anyone, as vile as his shows are. He does nothing but embarrass and humiliate his guest and he refuses to allow them any air time, because he thinks he knows everything and don't know crap and Senator Dodd, slapped the hell right out of him as he needed to do.

He, Shaun and all the rest of the right wing media thugs are making plenty of money off the pain and suffering they bring to average citizens caught up in these lies and distortions of truth and hell they have imposed on this country while they carry Bushs nasty ass water and he has the nerve to spew sympathy for Lieberman, like any American people might have some, the way he is screwing over the very party he claimed to be so loyal to, he has got to be crazy as hell.

American people can only wounder what all of these right wing talk show thugs were doing on their private invitations to the Bush white house dynasty today, that not one liberal media person was invited to.

It Makes no difference to Bush that the white house belongs to the American people and his criminal ass is only on a temp. stay. He has to know that we can only count the days that he and all of these idiots he has spewed all over our government will be out of office and then we are going to move to get these disgusting freaks off our air waves, right along with their big daddy.

He has got to be out of his sick mind to claim to be humelated when he needs to be happy he got some ratings this evening because of the good Senator. He needs to run with that, because his ass is going to be turned off tomorrow and his rateings will go right back down the toilet, where they belong.

Ma by they will do him like they have Ms. Paula Zaunn, who got her ass fired and good riddance to bad rubbish. One down and about 10 to go.

Thank You Senator Dodd

Bill O’reilly is very clever indeed. Knowing that GOP voters might consider voting Democrat this time, Oreilly is portraying the party as an immoral party to keep their votes.
------------------------------------------------------
A good point. But his campaign is flawed cause he is holding the gun backwards.
We are to think he loves the Democratic party so much he wants to offer his sage wisdom regarding YearlyKos participation by Dem candidates. Pretty fishy right there.
Cause we know he'd hate to see any of them lose support by taking part in this "far" left assembly of "vile" haters. (C'mon people, he's the only one you need to find out who's hateful).
Indeed. His whole effort is obviously a lame attempt to delude the ignorant who have no idea what Kos is - or no idea what the internet is - in the hope his TV show and rightwing radio can maintain the needed impact on the electorate with their propaganda mission on behalf of the GOP.
Yet what should be obvious to Bill is that he presents himself with a lose-lose situation by even instigating his nonissue.
Cause first he gives DailyKos the spotlight and exposure. His attempt to make DailyKos a household name has a huge downside for the right.
Second he's lying.
Oh, and third, he's scared and it shows.

Though he's owns myspace he doesn't know how to make it work. It's all about ratings, traffic and for his newspapers circulation, which are down. The internet is breaking the strangle hold of the media barons and that's a great thing for democracy!

THIS is why Democrats should stop avoiding Fox News.

Yes and no. I've no objection to the Chris Dodds of the party making Bill-O look like the ass he is. Attending Fox-sponsered debates is something completely different. As long as Faux Noise continues to be a modern-day version of Pravda, they should be treated as such, which means declining anything that makes them seem legit.

Oh, and I like Chris Dodd even more after this. He'd make a wonderful president.

Shogun's picture

Hey, have I just been living in a cave, or does the word 'hate' refer to racism? There is no racism in any of the examples from the Daily Kos posts. I guess he just wants to use a word that sounds a little more venomous, has a bit more zing to it. He's misusing it, but what the hell, his viewers are stupid and he knows they'll buy anything he says. He has utter contempt for his audience.

Second point, how the hell does anyone, talk show host or whoever, get off yelling like that at a US Senator? Complete disrespect. He should be ashamed, the channel should be ashamed, the old retarded farts watching should at least think it's a tad on the rude side no?

Media Concepts's picture

Bravo to Chris Dodd for having the balls to stand up to O'Reilly, while at the same time staying calm in the face of O'Reilly's rather childish temper tantrum. I'm sure O'Reilly's fans will cheer him for being so rude to a U.S. Senator. That's the polarized country we live in today.

Omglawl's picture

The O'Really show works on a very simple formula. It's a tough talking, chest thumping, testosterone fest with lots of yelling, and an occasional microphone cut off to make a display of putting "libs" in their place. It's enough to raise your blood pressure a bit and get you excited. It goes over very well with barely conscious emotionally manipulatable monkeys that make a habit of watching his show. These individuals rarely use brain functions higher than running around in little circles between their jobs and getting the kids to soccer. The explosive and barely cognitive outbursts relieve physiological stress, are very satisfying and contribute to the success of his show.

I contributed a week or two ago, after seeing Dodd take the time to honestly answer several very important questions posed in the You-Tube debate. I'm really impressed with him.
