CREW Files Complaint Against Rep. John Boehner For Possible Leak Of Classified Information

Today, CREW filed a complaint with the Department of Justice asking that the Counterespionage Section of the National Security Division initiate an investigation into whether House Minority Leader John A. Boehner (R-OH) violated the law by leaking classified information. Our complaint can be found here.
In a July 31, 2007 interview with Fox News anchor Neil Cavuto, Rep. Boehner disclosed an aspect of a Federal Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA) court’s decision regarding warrantless wiretapping:
There's been a ruling, over the last four or five months, that prohibits the ability of our intelligence services and our counterintelligence people from listening in to two terrorists in other parts of the world where the communication could come through the United States.
By telling a reporter that a FISA court has restricted the U.S. intelligence community's surveillance of suspected terrorists overseas, Rep. Boehner appears to have transmitted information relating to the national defense in violation of 18 U.S.C. § 793(d). Read more...

Boner can't be held responsible for what he leaks when he's drinking -- which is 24/7. C'mon, I mean, he probably had at least a half dozen Martinis in him (if it was before lunch, 12 if it was after).
What Rep. Bonehead did was make a direct transmission to the world that the United States' "wire tapping" is not only unconstitutional but has operational flaws.
Bonner made a Bonner.
Back when this country had laws, Mr. Bonners security clearance would have been revoke immediately upon a complaint being file and would have lost all access to anything classified until the FBI investigated the incident.
Considering that this information is WAY BEYOND Top Secret, Bonner may be in the class of Ames or Whitworth so far as being considered a traitor. For a violation of national security of this magnitude, it used to be 10 years to live in Leavenworth. But that is only if you are under the rank of E5. In Bonner case, he will definitely get the Medal of Freedom when he gets his pardon.
