C&Ler Jason sent in this Youtube via Josh Marshall. It comes from the BBC show "Little Britain" and it's hilarious! Maybe Larry Craig should have used this defense....

CRAIG!
Carlos and Edwardo.....LOL.
heh heh, that is funny. I guess Larry Craig is an uncreative cottager.
The last line was golden!
Fourth?
I'm not sure it would be more convincing, but it would have been more amusing.
Fifth. I'll take what I can get.
6th 7th whatever it takes.
larry is the one in this deal who has someone's watch.
Senator Larry Craig's Guide to Men's room "Signals"
there is an article at huff po that says Horkstra is calling for ol Latrine Lair's resignation.
Mr Craig said he is thinking of retiring so he can spend more time with his family, his cute doggie boobooie, and maybe open up that antique shop he's been dreaming about for years.
Norm Coleman and McCain have called for Craig to resign. Craig is giving up all his committee posts temporarily.
Forgive my ignorance on the matter but do the guys make contact from one stall to the other and then one of them joins the other in his stall?
pissed off patricia @ 11:
First Sali, now Craig. Can we PLEASE elect Democrats in Idaho again now? PLEASE?
Fer cryin' out loud.
Excellent show Little Britain, lots of clips at youtube.
Dr Matt, the video you linked to is what made me ask the question. I was trying to figure where it went from there.
I love this show and that bit is always funny. I love the look on the loyal wife's face. Exactly what all these shamed loyal Republican wives look like.
Dr. Matt @ 12:
that's precious!! So what's with the loving glances between GW and Alberto Gonzales? Is there something about their relationship we should be talking about?
"The Split Rose"? Okay, I'm officially creeped out. :)
It'a always been my observation that the ones who protest any subject fervently are merely projecting. As the estimable Sen. Craig pronounced, "I am not gay", I kept thinking the next line was, "I just like playing with penises".
The foot tapping was a nervous tic. The hand thing was just him searching for TP and the foot contact was just him taking a stance while trying to curl one out. The oral sex however....
S. Paul @ 19:
Gonzales was big on the child pornography stuff. Not that it's not an issue, but it kept creeping into his discussions at odd times.
OT, I do know that. But it´s breaking news IMHO (and the open thread is pretty old meanwhile):
Sadr 'freezes' militia activities
Radical Iraqi Shia cleric Moqtada Sadr says he is freezing the activities of his Mehdi Army militia for up to six months in order to re-organise it.
He has also called on all its offices to co-operate with the security forces and exercise "self-control".
...
At the Karbala news conference, one of Moqtada Sadr's aides read out a statement announcing that the Mehdi Army had suspended all its activities.
...
The order was read out at a news conference in Karbala, where fighting on Tuesday killed more than 50 people.
...
"We declare the freezing of the Mehdi Army without exception in order to rehabilitate it in a way that will safeguard its ideological image within a maximum period of six months starting from the day this statement is issued," Sheikh Hazim al-Araji said.
In Najaf, another spokesman said the order included "suspending the taking up of arms against occupiers, as well as others".
In April 2007, the US defence department described the Mehdi Army as the greatest threat to Iraq's security, replacing al-Qaeda in Iraq as the country's "most dangerous accelerant of potentially self-sustaining sectarian violence".

Little Britain is brilliant. I love the incredibly wet-fish kiss at the end of the clip.
How about a friendly competition:
Name the next high-profile Republican who will fall from grace and resign in disgrace.
Any takers?
Mugsy @ 18:
I think it's actually "spit roast", which I'm guessing is a reference to something that's more commonly called a "train" (someone getting it from both ends.) Not actually creepy really, sounds like it might be fun to me.
my money's on Hickabee
Perhaps Orin Hatch. He may be too smart to get caught but I've always wondered.
Just cause it would be such fun, Ted Stevens. Then I would know why he wears that damned "Hulk" tie.

Spit Roast... I think...
Hilarious!
Little Britain is the funniest show ever!!
I hear it's coming to HBO!
I am curious what shamed republican wives from Alabama are going to resort to since the Christian Reich outlawed their vibrators.
The wife in the "Little Britain" skit is a man in drag. Craig's wife should be so goodlooking.
Perhaps the next republican scandal could involve Lindsey Graham in a skirt?
The Brits have their own problems with a bunch of assclowns known as the BNP (aka the Suit and Tie KKK). Perhaps this site should show a little solidarity and assist our English brethren and report some of their daily activities as well as well as the crusades against the BNP.
I love Little Britain. I watch it on Friday nights on the BBC. Bawdy, funny, humor.
I just love those 2 characters. I read somewhere that they were married or are getting married in Europe.
I'm betting Mitch McConnell, Lindsay Graham, Patrick McHenry are going to be the next out of the gate. I've known about Craig since he came to Washington. I knew he was "dixie" then--and in DC, believe me, the grapevine is very short as to who is what. I lived in Georgetown and I had (gay) friends who were professionals and they knew Larry and new he was a real closet case. I remember this now because he was a hypocrite then.
He became all whiney and preachy when the page scandal happened and he supremely pissed a lot of gay men off because of his hypocrisy.
He is finished.
[...] Crooks & Liars is not limited to Americans - yesterday they found footage of a press conference by Larry Craig’s British cousin: [...]
Yeah, really, if they're going to lie, can't people like Craig at least be entertaining about it?
I don't know if anyone else noticed, but this "Little Britain" clip is from January!
brilliant! :)

Max Z. @ 40:
The Little Britain clip is from series one of the programme, from a year or two back. It has nothing to do with the ‘Larry Craig’s bathroom bust’. What the poster of the clip was showing is how funny politicians’ sexual faux-pas can be portrayed by using great comedy.
The sketch in question portrays a Conservative MP (the same as a Republican), who as their American cousins, always seem to get caught-up in a good sex scandal. They like to preach good old family values, and are inherently homophobic, but unfortunately can’t practice what they preach or what they espouse to be.
The stars of Little Britain are David Walliams and Matt Lucas. I believe they’re adapting Little Britain for American tastes (maybe their British humour maybe a little bit risqué for some American viewers), and this will be shown on the HBO channel. It’s a well loved TV series over here in Britain; with great characters, I really think the Americans will take to it.
The police report of Senator Craig's arrest is unintentionally hilarious in it's 'dry' presentation, as are the re-enactments of said incident. This video, however, is stupid and not at all funny. The canned laughter makes it worse.
As far as I am concerned, that is the end of the matter.
Hannity says to knock that off its not funny. Its only funny when they pick on Clinton or a democrat.
And that the foot tapping is hereditary in Larry Craig's instance. He is of the native American tribe in Idaho called the "happy feet". Besides, Larry Craig told Hannity he was the only one for him. And he wouldn't do that anymore.
Love Little Britain!
This clip is from the third season, which was released in November and December 2005, but it feels like it was made for Craig!

Nick Caine @ 43:
Don't hold your breath. Another top BBC comedy show 'red dwarf' was adapted for American television and it killed the whole show. Never got past the pilot episode. Spitting image, arguably to best policital comedy ever, wasn't succesful in adapting to american televion either.
In the end I just don't think the US is ready for british edgy risque humour.
Computer says YES!
When I watch that show it's fun that the voiceovers are Tom Baker (the 4th Doctor.. in that other insanely longrunning British Television legend: Doctor Who. He was the long scarfed, jelly baby-pimping one who looked a little like Harpo Marx.)
found this on DU... the song is very funny

Uh, WHO wrote this ?

Matt (the short bald one) is gay, David however isn't and has dated plenty of women:

Oh that's too funny. Stephanie Miller will like that since she sometimes talks about "Little Britian." LOL I love the uncomfortable wife next to him and the little kids. Typical republican ploy. Gotta love it.
What the hell is the point in making the video so small? I mean it's not like you have a lack of whitespace next to it. It's ridiculous that anyone would want video even smaller than the default youtube size.
I've been betting on KARL ROVE for a long time now. Jeff Gannon visited someone in the WH 96 time when there weren't even any press conferences, sometimes he never even checked out. Just read the way Karl describes the first time he saw Dubya - sounds like he swooned:
In November 1973, Bush asked Rove to take a set of car keys to his son George W. Bush, who was visiting home during a break from Harvard Business School. It was the first time the two met. "Huge amounts of charisma, swagger, cowboy boots, flight jacket, wonderful smile, just charisma - you know, wow", Rove recalled years later. Turd Blossom has always wanted Dubya bad.
