I will debate Michelle Malkin anytime, anywhere, in any forum (save HotAir TV, which she controls), on the particulars of S-CHIP. We can set the debate at a think tank, on BloggingHeads, over IM. Hell, we can set up the podiums in the shrubbery outside my house, since that seems to be the sort of venue she naturally seeks out. And then if Malkin wants an argument, she can have one. We'll talk S-CHIP and nothing but -- nothing of the Frosts, or Congress, or her blog.[..]
So c'mon Michelle: Let's debate health care. Prove to the world that you really want "a good-faith argument." We can talk crowd-out, and cross-subsidization, and whether lower-middle class entrepreneurs are able to procure health care on the individual market. If this is a policy argument you care so deeply about as to travel to the Frost family's house to see if they really deserved S-CHIP benefits, surely you'll want to set up a web cam and talk through the issue.
Oh please, oh please, oh please.... C'mon, Jesse's girl, show us why you merit anything other than scorn for your ad hominem attacks and siccing your rabid readership on private citizens. I double dog dare you, Michelle.

If it happens bring a mirror, MM'll need something to keep her interest piqued while Ezra tries in vain to establish any reasonable, relevant and substantive argument.

First of all, she will never agree to a debate in a forum she can't control. Secondly, any one of us could challenger her to such a debate and grind her into the ground. Even the 12 year-old Frost boy could beat her in a debate on the substance of SCHIP (now that's a debate I'd like to see).

Ah, a thread that eliminates the usual racist and sexist comments against Malkin! That in itself is enjoyable. Kudos. I can't stand the woman, but that is because of her character - her outrage entrepreneurship, her hypocrisy, her racism, etc. I don't really think she would be such a piece of cake to debate - I would guess that she is smarter than she likes to appear. But I would also guess that she won't see the upside to debating Klein. She isn't going to gain any more followers; she isn't going to lose any if she ignores the debate; and the prank offensive against the S-Chip would run aground if the debate suddenly turned rational. As long as the focus is on an outrage event instead of a policy, the issue will be where the right wants it to be. Otherwise, they would have to defend their objection not on the grounds that it doesn't work, but on the grounds of pure ideology - that they don't care if it works. So I am hopeful that the moderate-liberal defense of the S-Chip is going to be all about how good it is, for our economy in general, for the government to ameliorate certain risks, and the S-Chip not only works but it works cheaply at doing just that. The more the focus is on the fact that the program works, the more the right is forced back to their 'principles', which are shared by relatively few.
An interesting challenge but it's likely to be a lost cause. I don't see how someone like Michelle Stalkin would be able to debate. That requires using facts to persuade people.

A debate with a neutral third party as moderator... even then, I'm sure both sides would be suspicious of the other. MM has been bushwhacked before, and I must say i thought she handled it well.
