D'OH-lbermann!!! Keith Olbermann on The Simpsons

icon Download | play icon Download | play (h/t BillW) D'oh! Correct video added.

Willie Geist on MSNBC's Morning Joe looks at Keith Olbermann's guest turn on The Simpsons, in which he names Marge as the Worst Person in the World (worse than Satan and Mr. Burns? D'oh!) for skipping commercials while watching TV.

Gosh, I guess all Keith has to do is get on South Park and he's hit the animated cultural icon trifecta.

What's the third one?

Frist, BTW.

Hi, the video does not relate to the story.

Martin's picture

Errrr...I think you've got the wrong video there...

E_I's picture

What, no Murdoch in the worst person's list? For shame, Simpson's creators.

Michael Smith's picture

I think that you have the wrong video up there guys...

Yeup, that's a different video.

yeah , thats what I thought when I watched it last night. not even just "worse" place at least!

but it was pretty funny, and kinda poked fun at himself.

jxn's picture

The video's about Al Gore visiting the White House.

justabill's picture

Yes, the wrong video clip has been used.

D'OH !

C&L's been alerted. They'll be corrected shortly.

Jared Wolfhope's picture

He was also on the Family Guy rerun last night.

L.A. Confidential's picture

I've never watched the Simpsons.

A true rebel. Or loner I suppose.

Okay, this was the day Gore came to the white house so that explains cheney's heart acting up. Jeez I knew they didn't like gore, but I didn't know his presence would give Old Shooter a heart problem.

Good for Keith! The more good exposure he gets the better. This has to drive BillO crazy that a fox show would invite Keith on. Has BillO ever been on the Simpsons?

I was to busy for ten years in the 90's to watch TV. Still don't now that I'm not busy. Except the weather so I don't get blown away by mother nature. Internet gives me everything I need now.

Reich-wingers will undoubtedly claim this is proof that Faux is "fair and balanced".

News shouldn't have to be balanced. News should just be the facts of what happened. There's no need in journalism to balance a story, just tell what you know about it. Same goes for being "balanced".

Andy K's picture

Nice delivery, K.O.!

But when are they gonna write ya into a 30 Rock?

Oops, that should have read Same goes for being "fair".

It's been a long day.

L.A. Confidential's picture

News isn't even news anymore. It's infotainment. Never underestimate the ability of the elites to invent new and clever ways to keep us glued to the tube so we wont even notice we've wasted a third of our lives away until it's to late.

"Many people are still recovering from a weekend full of crowded stores and long lines as they tried to score a good deal on holiday gifts."

Oh my what did I miss? Gawd how could I deprive myself of such an activity?

Saw the wrong video which is a story all by itself. What about Keith and the Simpsons?

I wonder if the USA will ever see smooth sailing again or if it's just going to continue to be like trying to walk around on a ship being battered in a storm.

I love South Park, but if they featured Olbermann it would only be to ridicule him. Matt and Trey seem to truly hate outspoken liberals.

It sure looks like doom and gloom have come to stay for a while. I really don't know why anyone would want to be the next president. There's just so damned much to try to get under control. It's going to take forever and if they can't or don't do much of it they will be a one time president.

Nah, they just like to take people down a peg... everyone, not just liberals. I like it. No one is above getting made fun of...no one.

They are equal opportunity mockerers.

I agree, but it seems to me that their strongest vitriol is reserved for liberals. I could be wrong though. I love the show anyway.

Clinton wasn't perfect but at least he energized the country and had us moving in a positive direction and going up instead of down.

Well that was the first bit of anything to make me smile today... Not that anyone gives or should give a shit whether I'm smiling or not... But, yea, that was pretty funny.... I don't know that K.O's bit on sunday night football is actually working that well.. Seems just a bit too contrived to me.. But more power to em for trying to get back to his roots... Someone correct me if I got it wrong, but I do think Kieth was into some kind of sports commentator thing with espn or some network, before he got into this political show of his... Which truly rocks as far as I'm concerned.....Near as I can tell, he's the closest we got to a Cronkite/Murrow type newsman these days.... Not sure what that says about the state of news on T.V..... But if it's just him in that category, probably not a good thing for truth in news reporting....JD

Yep Jack, he was a sports guy on ESPN back some time ago. I don't remember why he left or was maybe asked to leave.

Clinton left the oval office better than he found it. Bush will never even be able to lie and say he did that too. He's leaving (if indeed he does leave) us with the worst mess of my life time.

Yes, KO was co-anchor of ESPN's SportsCenter from 92-97

ESPN: Mea culpa
The story behind my tumultuous departure from the sports channel.
By Keith Olbermann

Despite that, he later was on ESPN radio with Dan Patrick from 2004 until earlier this year when Dan Patrick retired.

Thanks POP; and agreed on that worst mess business... This idiot has left the absolute worst situation I can ever remember at any time in my life too... And my bones goes all the way back to Eisenhower, though truthfully, I am more of a Kennedy kid so to speak... I was here in the world though, and in the crib during Ikes latter days.....regards; JD

He looked way worse when he worked for ESPN in the 80s:

There's something about this look that is the (im)perfect cross between Tom Selleck and Eugene Levy. Scary indeed.

Okay, here it is, shitty quality vid, but it's my favorite Olbermann comedy moment (Charlie Steiner's bit is funny, too).

That is so obviously a cartoon! NO WAY would Mr. Burns beat out Bill-O for the bronze, and NO WAY would Scratchy beat out 'Comedian Rush Limbaugh' for the silver.

True and with their new LCD program (lowest common denominator) "Kenny vs. Spenny", they seem to have decided that thoughtful satire is just too much work.

No, I don't believe that Orally has done The Simpsons or any other animated series (although there is a rather placid caricature of the Falafel Guy in the South Park with the time-travelling immigrants).

Preacher Boob's picture

Can't wait to see The Simpsons do the same skit with Katie Couric, Hannah Storm, Rosie O'Donnell, and Geraldo.

Oh, and Perino. (Who is really Phyllis Diller in heavy pancake, which is why she keeps coming up with all those ridiculously funny lines)

Riddle me this - how low a bar did the 2004 re-election of Bush set for "can't or don't do much of it"? Seems that this century, we have pretty low expectations for what we will accept for a second term....

Paul's picture

Haven't watched Simpsons in many years - since I decided FOX was a propaganda network. That looked like a half-assed attempt to insult Olbermann. Threw my TV in the trash about 10 years ago. Don't miss it.

Don't get me wrong,I love Olbermann.I do find his constant showing of cartoon clips(or otherwise) of him being mentioned to be a bit egotistical though.Get over it Keith, other are parodied and they don't feel the need to always showcase the clips on their program.I initially loved his busting of O'Rielly's chops all the time, but move on and diversify. The left wing is becoming as irritating as the right wing.

Finally, a place where keith actually fits in and makes sense.

Rufus T. Firefly's picture

Who is the female co-host in this clip? She looks exactly like that woman (purported to be Virginia TV reporter Allison Williams, but wasn't) that was in that scandalous porn clip circulating around the 'net a few years ago. Compare the co-host with this headshot.

Uncanny. Looks like the woman on the left, the mystery woman from the porn clip. (Just remove the "allison_williams_and_fake.jpg" part of the URL to see the website; it's a UK newspaper; no nudity or naughty stuff.) Given the video was shot in a TV remote van, I wouldn't be surprised to see the same person in a TV environment like Morning Joe.

Also, she looks like something's wrong with her jaw. Or am I just seeing things?

Rufus T. Firefly's picture

Sorry about making the whole second paragraph a link! I didn't realize it would do that. The preview looked fine before I posted.
