Yet Another Bush Crony Appointee's Breathtaking Incompetence, Including Planted Pressers
By Nicole Belle Monday Nov 26, 2007 6:02pm![]()
We've posted about Julie Myers when she was nominated. RawStory's Nick Juliano has found that she has done her job just as so many of these Bush crony appointments have: very, very incompetently. Obviously immigration must be a TOP issue for the White House to have Myers at the helm. (/snark)

Bush and Buds are selling us off to the Sheiks. They don't talk much about that do they.
"Middle East corporate raiders flush with cash from the region's record oil revenues have increased their buying of international assets as competition from international competitors is crimped by the global credit crunch."
Anything goes, and nothing matters.
Lie, Cheat, Steal, Kill, Plunder. Welcome to the Gilded Age of the Neocons.
and who is standing behind her in this photo?
Remember the good old days when it just one homosexual plant in the audience. Aaahhh, how I miss those days.
Well one of her relatives is a big-shot, and she is smoking hot, and a republican, so she is perfect for the Bush administration.
Robin @ 3:
The guy with the mustache? I think thats Guido Palaentoi. He's there to keep people in line.
Reporters covering the press conference, which focused on an earlier immigration bust that netted $1 million in cash, drugs and heavy weapons, apparently did not mention that the spokeswoman was among the questioners.
Yeah, like they didn't mention Jeff Gannon's numerous appearances at press conferences where he lobbed softballs to Bush. Nobody sought to question publicly his alleged credentials and dubious, uncanny ability to obtain coveted White House press passes.
The press just stood by and let it happen without a word. The media in this country has lost its way just as the republican party has lost its way.
Greg @ 4:
I remember when people also used to laugh at one liners like, If you can't beat em join right?
Not anymore
We should identify the swamp from which the bushies dredge the creatures such as Julie Myers, Harriet Miers, Michael Brown, Alberto Gonzales, et.al., and nuke it.
Well one of her relatives is a big-shot, and she is smoking hot, and a republican, so she is perfect for the Bush administration.
She is smoking hot? Maybe for a Republic crony hack, but she's no Perrino! I can't even picture her doing the little "hair flip-downward glance" little girl thing that Dana is a master of!
When you put people in charge of government who don't believe in it this is what you get. But we also have that added bonus of the pirate factor.
Is she Harriet's kid?
She couldn't pronounce Nuevo Loredo, Bush can't pronounce nuclear without adding a syllable, Gonzo couldn't remember ANYTHING, Brownie did a good job, WMD's, yellow cake etc etc.
Now bush is making his last ditch attempt to have some kind of diplomacy (finally).
Is this not the most fucked up we've seen the US in modern times?
In order to demonstrate 'Breathtaking Incompetence' in the Bush fiasco, Julie Myers has to be a fantabulous Fu*k-Up.
TPMmuckraker now has a post up about another hacktageous Bush crony
Shiva H Vishnu @ 13:
Yet some stupid motherf*ckers still wear the W The President bumper sticker proudly. Yeah, and this diplomacy fiasco is strictly a photo op for the boosh presidential library which is going to feel like Madam Tussaud's Chamber of Horrors.
More fine examples of the commitment the current administration has at impersonating responsible leadership.
Nicole, you sledge hammer you.
StirFry @ 16:
There is a name for those who still support the idiot in chief, they (the 25% 'rs) are known as ....ready ....
The Moron Factor
Ahhh, .....Criminy, It's no wonder we're slowly becoming the laughing stock of the world... And on top of the fact that everyone is slowly coming to hate us too..... Where the hell is the door out of this lunatic asylum????? I'm tired of this shit....JD
She has that "Regent" look about her.
You would be incompetent too if you had to sleep with Skeletor night after night.
L.A. Confidential @ 8:
Was that a shot? I think that was a shot. I'm still laughing. Relax. Frankie wants you to. Whoa, that was a one liner.
Greg @ 22:
No it wasn't a shot. I was referring to the idiotic one liners Reagan and Bush Sr would throw out at their press conferences.
Shining City on a Hill, Thousand Points of Light and other idiotic crap like that.
L.A. Confidential @ 23:
L.A. Confidential @ 23:
Try this again.
Sorry, thought you were taking a shot at my Gannon comment. I apologize.
Hey, it doesn't MATTER how incompetent she is, her job is secure! General Myers PAID for it, by being a shill for Bush's war, at the expense of his reputation. The least Bush can do is give his niece a job.
And like I said last week, that's why Fran Townsend got pushed out. Bush will give Myers a recess appointment to Townsend's job. WHEN is only a matter of how long Jim Webb can be coerced into spending his holidays in Washington for the sake of blocking recess appointments.
Preacher Boob @ 9:
and that would be crockett texas
Greg @ 25:
Don't worry about it. No need to. Happens to the best of us on occasion.
OMFG! Debbie Schussel the shutzstaffel of the falafel apparently agrees..
who said there cant be a common understanding between parties..

It is a sad state of affairs when your almost relatives (husband's cousin) won't even support your nomination :-)
How do I get one of these jobs? Hell, I don't mind being associated with BushCo for a couple months. The pay is great, the benefits superb -- don't even get me started on the health care plan (which I could really, really use). I wouldn't be half as incompetent as the average BushCo Incompetent, and my appointment would allow Chimpy to claim to be bipartisan.
P.S. Did I mention how good the health plan is?
This administration kind of reminds of a big company where the incompetent managers always seem to be protected or seem to get away with stuff or come up with the most rediculous ideas or get promoted.
We were told the only way to get rid of them was to make them look good so they can move on laterally or up the latter to a different department where they can further unleash their incompetence, somewhere else.
But another thing about these folks are: they play the game. And that game is the Bush ideology which to us appears totally incompetent. If these people had any brains or conscience they would have to ask themselves, "WTF am I doing here?" Of course they would never admit to being played the fool and would give some other excuse for moving on.
What's depressing to me is a quarter of my life has been spent with these idiots running the country.
Chip @ 32:
My thoughts exactly. I could tell years ago that General Meyers was a phony, who "played the game" politically to get to the top of the military hierarchy. Would I want this guy as a leader in combat? No way. He is out for himself and he took care of his niece. This whole group is just sickening and no wonder the government is so incompetent!
Paraphrasing Hunter S. Thompson - 'If you truly believed in your cause, you'd march on down there and stomp these people to death!'*
* NOTE - actual quote was at a Xian church during the reign of Bush Sr. and it put him on the Secret Service watch list.
If you think this is something, just wait until we get this sleazy bastard out of the white house and really start reviewing media tapes and all of the corruption and bull shit he and these right wing nasty ass republicans have done.
One example that comes to mind is during the 2004 election, when American people were just not paying close attention (oh but i sure as hell was), if you go back to the campaign trail, when Bush continued to follow Senator Kerry all over the country, he carried an equal team of ass holes with Bush signs that he would filter into the Kerry crowds and along with this disgusting media, would doctor the film to make it seem as though all these people were there to support Bush. They were so incompetent in their devious efforts to blow smoke up our asses, they failed to realize that many of the people in the same backdrop with the same clothes on could be recognized as the same people you just saw earlier, supporting Senator Kerry.
These are just some of the reasons, why we really need to get these sick bastards off the air waves. It is going to be very important that our new President uses good common sense, when installing a new FCC, chairman to slap the hell out of these media criminals and give us our net work system back.
She's cut from the same cloth of Phil Kline..as she grew up in Shawnee Mission, Kansas. Common Sense sez anyone who can't tell a white guy in black make-up is just too stupid to operate anything more than a electric can opener.
failure is job one
Don't these people even see/read the news? Listen to a radio? You would think that right after FEMA got busted for this, they would reconsider before going ahead with it. Are they completely oblivious?
After nearly a decade of this type of management of the government, will people know any other way. I am afraid that Bush has made an indelible mark on how government operates. That really scares me. Even if a Democrat were to get elected, is there much hope that the government and especially the extensive bureaucracy in the executive branch could reshift to proper management? Bush's impact will be felt for a long time.

Pericles @ 26:
Webb's a former Marine - he'll stay as long as he can prevent boosh from appointing another hack or shill.
Support former Virginia Governor Mark Warner (D-VA) in his run for senate. Together we can make Virginia BLUE.
Peace through impeachment!
Mark
And there is still people out there who think this misadministration is doing a good job? Good grief :(. I have always been very proud to be an American prior to the last 6 years. Now,....well......ashamed would be a good word. Along with PO'd. Did anyone hear Bush mispronounce the 2 reps from Israel & Palestine last night? Sheeshe. I'm so embarrased that this imbecile is the representative of our great nation. How? Good grief.
StCyrlyMe @ 35:
I have to respond to the first sentence of this statement.
"If you think this is something, just wait until we get this sleazy bastard out of the white house and really start reviewing media tapes and all of the corruption and bull shit he and these right wing nasty ass republicans have done."
There is a ranch - 100,000 acres - waiting for this joker when he gets out of office - it's in Paraguay, and on the Argintine border. Paraguay will give AMNESTY to all that are charged with any type of war crime. Seems like history repeats itself. Argintina did the same thing at the end of WWII. Boosh - and his cronies - will escape the long arm of the law and my money is on him leaving right after the election.
centralilgirl @ 41:
The how is the republicans stole both elections. Misadministration is the correct word for this fiasco.
Ever notice that Boosh sounds like he talks with a mouthful of mush? I think his brain is mush!

That's how you make hillbilly kool-aid, from corn mush.
I'd say corn mash, but that's what I call it when an entire episode of M.A.S.H has nothing but Alan Alda soliloquizing.
Actually, I think they are achieving exactly what they desire. It isn't to run government, it is to destroy it, more specifically, to destroy the People's faith and confidence in liberal democracy, and the institutions which are the executors of that democracy. To the degree that they achieve that, they undermine the validity of the very concept. And to the degree the achieve that, they facilitate the slide into the authoritarian state. Incompetents may be placed at the helm, but that is at the wishes of those who know exactly the destruction, and the order and sequence of the destruction they wish to achieve.
I blame Nancy Pelosi and her Congressional supporters for the continuance of this process, because she has - more than any other person - had the means to put a stop to it, and steadfastly refuses even to think about it. We all knew what Bushco was about, we trusted the Democratic majority to at least attempt to do their duty. With the exception of a few members who get it, our trust has been betrayed.
There needs to be a true revolution at the ballot box next year.
I wish we could please stop referring to these Bush appointees as incompetent. Most of them are quite competent at what they are actually charged with doing by the Bush administration, which is to undermine the government to further a political ideology and/or corporate profits and deregulation. Calling them incompetent lets them off the hook, in a sense, by implying they don't know what they're doing. They know perfectly well what they're doing.
