More Boos At Republican YouTube Debate As McCain Re-Writes History

The Republican CNN/YouTube debate looked more like an episode of Jerry Springer than a presidential debate. Senator John McCain was asked a question about taxes and decided to go way off topic and attack Rep. Ron Paul for his stance on Iraq and wanting to bring the troops home.
McCain accused Paul of what he called the same sort of appeasement that allowed Hitler to take power and WWII to happen, and told him he'd just returned from Iraq and said he had a message for Ron from "the troops" -- and the audience let him have it. Paul put it right back in his face by reminding him that he has received more donations from active duty military personnel than any other Republican candidate. Oh, did anyone notice Chuck Norris in the audience? This stuff just writes itself...

Time to circle the firing squad, i mean wagons....
Thanks for watching the debates so i don't have to
I hope someone calls McCain on this. I'd like to know what 'troops' and what message? Should be easy for an intrepid reporter to find out where McCain went on his latest trip and ask the 'troops' if they gave him any messages for Ron Paul, other than, "GET ME THE FUCK OUT OF HERE!"
Of course on the lighter side how funny is it that McCain has to attack Ron Paul for votes? HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!
Republifucks-every single one of them.
Democraps- a close second to the Corporate apologists above.
Turn off your stupid TV and take a damn walk.
Talking heads every single one of them.
We're doomed.
Put head in sand now.
No wonder Bush was able to beat this asshole; same thing.
It looked like McCain was about to cry and take his debate and go home.
McCain is well along the path to senility. Where he pulls his conclusions from I can only imagine.
Ron Paul owned McCain
ANd yet McCain then recovered and totally owned Romney on torture
Filthy Harry @ 4:
I think Ron Paul just did. Publicly and humiliatingly.
But if you mean the CFR media - forget it. McCain's one of theirs. Pure establishment scum. He has two modes - vaccuous or lying.
Go Ron Paul! McCain is so out of touch with reality who seems to think he can say whatever he wants to just because he served in the military. McCain always points out he respects other people who served, but seems to conveniently forget Paul served too! McCain went down in flames for his wrongsided attack.
McCain's campaign is dead and he knows it. He's just a cannon fodder now trying to do whatever he can to derail Ron Paul's. It backfired quite badly, though.
The tax code doesn't need to be fixed.. its the congressmen that keep giving themselves unearned raises every year and politicians that give away jobs to unqualified campaign supporters that needs to be fixed.
I don't agree with Ron Paul on some issues, but he is amazing during these debates. McCain has no clue what he is talking about. Isolationism isn't what caused WW2, but instead it was reparations that bankrupt Germany and Europe humilating the Germans. I am sure if the United States, France, and England went over to Germany in 1932 it killed every German WW2 would have been advoided, but their was no reason to.
Even though I loved how McCain went from a question about income tax to a cheap shot at Ron Paul.
Campbell Brown, whoever the hell she is, just said she thought McCain used his attack very effectively as a foil as to how he would attack other Democratic candidates on the war. She should pull her head out of her ass.
WOW. More than anything this showed two important points;
1- McCain has resorted to being a cheap Bushwacker
2- Totally off-question with his answer showed McCain had it planned to let the people know of his Turkey-feast with the troops and was looking for a spot to say it.
He really doesn't have a platform. His answer was so poor, he tried to deflect it by bringing the dinner with the troops shit up.
HIGH SCHOOL!
Great job Ron Paul
I would like to say, from the left side of the aisle, honor and respect to McCain for hammering romney on torture!
My acceptance of the repukes would be far greater if they truly respected and loved their country to denounce the hideaous outrages against the good name of this country! And by the way, romney loving the bible? Which one? The hallucinations of Joseph Smith or that of the ChristoJudeoFascists?
When in doubt, always try to stir the fears and emotions of the populace by raising the topic of patriotism. What superpatriots like McCain always neglect to mention is that when people are placed in a combat zone, like I was in Vietnam, the first thought in their minds is when will the politicians back home will be able to remove them from that slaughterhouse as quickly and rapidly as possible. As it becomes more evident to those soldiers that they are fighting for a less than noble cause in Iraq, more and more of them will be thinking along those same lines, wondering why they are not at home with their families, instead of being in Iraq for their second third or fourth tour of duty.
man, republicans are dicks. I know this, but damn, this concentrated dose of conservative is pretty ugly.
Hey I heard there was a really good part when a gay general asks about gays in the military and they basically diss him..can you put that up if you have it?
SteveinSC @ 20:
Like the book says, you can either love God - or you can love money.
I'll happily lend a brain cell to anyone who can't figure out which side Romney's batting for.
I just know that those men walked off that stage of put on white sheets and hoods and went to a KKK rally.
I have never seen so much white and so much hate gathered together.
Evil.....
Evil....
The Izz
Yet Bill Clinton didn't rewrite history on his stand of the Iraq War? :))
Who needs the writer's guild when you can get this for free? /snark This whole debate has been one of the funniest things on television in months(besides Curb Your Enthusiasm).....these ridiculous non-candidates (Paul seems to be the only semi-rational one... minus all of his policy stances except the Iraq occupation ) and the moronic crowd is the scary part..... I cannot believe these people still exist in OUR COUNTRY (liberals). We have a lot of work to do to right this country. These authoritarians love to be lead....so I hope their ready to be lead by a super-majority Democratic congress and several Democratic presidents. ;) Kucinich '08!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
where'd they get the audience from, the Wrestling Federation? What a bunch of morons. Seriously.
This debate was a Fiasco !!!
wow, mccain made it through several sentences there without saying "straight talk". have seen him do that in months.
and didn't the repube blast the dems when they held their utube debate. i seem to remember many on the right belittling the format and the participants. but then again irony and hypocrisy are two things repube do not see or realize.
#16: I don’t agree with Ron Paul on some issues, but he is amazing during these debates. McCain has no clue what he is talking about. What kind of happy horseshit is that? Can you please explain how you come up with this theory?
James Izzard @ 25:
Do you have a problem with white people?
Ron Paul deserved to give McCain even more than he was allowed. I think Paul should have laughed that one off to McCain's face while looking him dead in the eye giving him what for, and then turned around to the booing morons in the audience, pointed and said "you're wrong too!" That was such a pathetic non-sequitur cheap shot from McCain...and the smile on his face...it was the same shit-eatin' grin Bush gets on his face when he's challenged publicly and thinks he gotten some huge dig in on somebody. If anyone is still not convinced McCain would be at least as bad as Bush, let this stand as exhibit A that he wouldn't change a thing if elected president. I can't even believe I respected him, once upon a time. He sells out his own heroism. Who can vote for someone like that?
I'm not voting for Ron Paul even if he manages to get the nomination, but the way he gets treated really pisses me off. Like that time Stephanopoulos told him he couldn't win in the interview. I wanted to smack that rug off of Stephanopoulos's head. Paul and I surely disagree on plenty, but I feel like I could at least have a civil conversation with the guy, and not just because he wants to end the Iraq war.
Go Ron Paul. Down with McCain.
McCain tried to cheap shot Ron Paul and got owned.
This whole debate was an outrage and a farce. CNN should just come out and say they want one of the CEO's CFR buddies, Romney, Thompson, or Guiliani as president.
I think anyone who says they want to "win" in Iraq should have to define victory...what does it look like? what do we get? We can't win or lose in Iraq, we can only die there.
Zippy @ 31:
History class? Hitler united Germany under a time of depression and inflation, which was maginified by the money they had pay to countries suffering from the depression. Germany took sole blame for WW2 and many of them were angry at the rest of Europe. Hitler exploited all of these things and used extreme nationalism to gain power.
OMG I did not watch the debate, but that clip alone makes me absolutely nauseous. Where is my country? This is just sickening.
the only thing that scares me is that Ron Paul makes the anti-war argument much better than any D, and McCain still manages to hold his ground. what the hell are the the D's gonna do when they won't even take a stand half as firm as Ron Paul?
as far as I am concerned, every one of those people on the stage tonight was just salivating at the chance to beat Hillary like a pinata. Its so obvious that they are all planning their campaigns around how to get jabs in on Hillary. There have been at least 3 GOP debeates, and the person who took the hardest beating in every debates was Hillary. What a shock it would be for them if they didnt end up getting to go up against her???
I support Rep. Paul because he support's the U.S. Constitution period. I'm not a Democrat, I'm not a Republican. What happened to the rest of you? This empire is crumbling and headed for collapse. Ron Paul is a Revolutionary and so am I. It isn't a very bad word.

I agree that Hitler used nationalism to further his cause, but I think the main contribution to the war was the effects of the depression, the spread of communism, and the most important part-the French and British governments trying to appease Hitler in order to avoid military confrontation. (Sound familiar? The French apparently did not learn their lesson-see the riots in France. The French are trying to appease the Muslim Gangsters, or excuse me, the angry youths that are unhappy with their situation in life)
McCain is stealing riffs from Rep. Jean Schidt.....LMAO

Sorry, but the Audience made the Candidates look like a bunch of geniuses.
What a bunch of retards.
It was actually a pretty good debate. A lot of people here are suffering from the same cognitive dissonance that the republicans are
Paul "owned" McCain? Seems appropriate since Paul wants to turn the calendar back to 1792, when one man really could own another.
White power!I mean, State's Rights!Forget, hell! Paul '08!
Chris H. Great post.
Does anybody think AH was unpopular in Germany for what he was doing? F NO!
Along with Giuliani and Romney, McCain has eagerly shown he isn't qualified to be a candidate, let alone president.
Isolationism? you mean like not talking to the enemy and calling them axis of evil when they were denouncing the terrorist of 9/11?
After WW1 we levy heavy taxes on Germany and made them pay for the war, kind of like how we expect Iraq oil to pay for the war. Except we are not at war with the Iraqi, but using their land as the grand wrestling match of the century with the roaming terrorist. It was nice of the Iraqi people to front the main event for the terrorist.
After WWII we open trade and encourage the country to get back on their feet with US money and employed their citizen of that country to rebuild Japan and Germany. Kind of like what we are not doing in Iraq. They the Republican really hate that the Liberal solution for the second war work really well. I notice that most of the text book on US history like to gloss over that part of our times. But most text book for the public school system comes from Texas, so it's no surprise. I don't even recall that the student even get to study JFK, and Nixon era. It must be nice to fudge the fact in public of what they don't want you to know in school.
I have never seen so many bipolar people gathered in one place before. Thank God the candidates were there to provide comedic relief. (Course the audience didn’t laugh because they’re bipolar, duh.)
It seems to me that the tax question, income versus national sales tax is another way to allow recipients of dividends and interest to avoid supporting the country. The current battle within the income tax system is earned income versus unearned income.
The "Hitler" angle as justifying the war seems to be a lot of nonsense. Saddam was harmless to us and quite contained. Conversely, there is one nation in a unilateral military buildup, a buildup that seems unparalleled since Hitler's buildup when he broke the treaty of Versailles, a buildup which accounts for over 50% of the world's military expenditures. That is, of course the U.S. buildup, an excess that Eisenhower warned about when he discussed the military-industrial complex.
Our tax problems would be solved if we weren't blowing so much money on the military to be the world's policeman. Given that the biggest threat to this country in the last 50 years was accomplished through the use of 20 box cutters, it seems we need a smarter approach to defense than blindly throwing money at it.
Where's Chris Dodd's talk clock??
RP got 4 minutes... MAYBE... absolutely pathetic. Tancredo, same. Regardless of who one is 'rooting' for, the bias shown in these debates is anything but democratic! Its an absolute absurdity and bastardization!
CNN has lost any sort of respect I had for it, which was small to begin with. And its funny to hear McCain go on about Hitler's regime because my friends, we're not so far from it now. Propaganda machine roaring louder now then I've ever heard it. Replace jew with iraqi.
Or irani.
Zippy: What is the opposite of appeasement? War. So appeasement cannot be the cause of war only the postponement of it. Why was Hitler and Germany hellbent on war? Too much machismo, too much pride, too much militarism, but don't blame appeasement. That's blaming the victim.
Post American @ 40:
No he doesn't period.

MCain: speaking of taxes...i would just like to say Ron Paul is wrong on Iraq...
hahahah...this guy is laughable....say anything McCain has gone from hero to zero to nero
his geriatric sexist racist base aren't going to get him anywhere.
Rusty Shackleford @ 45:
that was a cheap slander. Ron Paul is not a racist.
Is there a sensible Republican running? For the life of me, I can't recommend one candidate.
The candidates seem to have taken most of Ron Paul's positions that resonate with the people.
I think BIG media is becoming concerned that Ron is now a force to contend with.
The crowds are growing and the message is getting louder.
As Ron said "We are in fear of our Government."
Why did we all let this happen?
Truth Be Told @ 56:
I take offense, sir. It was a priceless slander. And he may not be a racist himself - who knows? - but the real racists are certainly lining up behind him.
I'm sure it's just his views on the Federal Reserve, which has always been a hot topic at Stormfront and VNN.
As a 46 year old lady, I usually only talk like this in my mind- but McCain is a fucking douchebag! Let's get him the nomination and we can play this clip over and over and over again.
I don't support the war, so he's going to equate me and ever single other person opposed to the war as an isolationist who would appease hitler, what about appeasing W and the Saudi govt. Stupid, offensive and more than a tiny bit insane!
And like most Americans, please explain to me how we can "win"- what does that mean at this point? We got rid of Saddam- good, everything else- bad.
Jim Moore @ 58:
Huckabee used the Ron Paul position of ending the IRS and gained a loud cheering for him
What a cheap shot from the arrogant, senile conductor of the Trainwreck express. Mc Cain must be awfully desperate to resort to those tactics----no wait, this is a Repub debate---never mind, they have no shame or morals.
Rusty Shackleford @ 59:
You associate Ron Paul with Stormfront and other racist organizations because Ron is against the Federal Reserve and against the IRS. Ron is opposed to them for separate reasons than SF and others. However, SF will ride the Ron Paul movement because it serves their goals - if not their underlying reasons.
The point is, Ron is not using their arguments when he promotes his reasoning for his positions. If there is a nexus in their goals, its not because Ron is against ZOG or the Illuminati.
Okay, so I know there are some folks who, while they may agree with his foreign policy stance, are most definitely not Ron Paul fans. The biggest complaint against him is that is that if he had his way he would turn the country into some sort of 'every one for themselves', capitalism gone wild mad house, or at least even more so than it is right now. Now I can't say I agree with you on this, I can't say I disagree with you either.
Solely for his foreign policy pov I am completely cheering him on and hope he at least makes a strong push for the ticket. That said however, Dennis Kucinich gets not only my support and money, but also my utmost respect. He has the foreign policy, as well as everything else. I truly believe Kucinich might just be the closest we will get to being able to put such a person of knowledge and peace(and on the arm of a beautiful wife who, can rival, or perhaps even out do him in both knowledge and peace) into a position of such power, who could, potentially, be one day lifted up with names such as Gandhi, King, Buddha, and ol' Jesus there too. ...er yeah, guess who's got my vote?...
Watching the usual post-debate spin, that was taking a bunch of cheap, little, tabloid journalism, pot shots at Paul; then reading the criticism of him on here, the dichotomy of the two anti-RP points struck me. So in an effort to, as my other favorite news site says 'fight ignorance', I have a question; if what you fear is true, why does the whole media/corporate/political machine seem so hell bent on keeping him silenced? Kucinich- that I can understand, but if I'm to believe the criticism of Paul on here, why do 'they' seem so scared of him?
Oh, BTW, anyone see this?

Unity '08 perhaps?
R Paul retrofit Mccain for a new butthole. The "let us win" talking point had gone stale a long time ago, right about the same time as Mccains campaign.
Truth Be Told @ 63:
Actually, I associate Ron Paul with neo-Nazis because he happily accepts their money and support. Which is fine. This is America, and neo-Nazis are entitled to their own candidate. Pardon me if I don't agree that progressives and neo-Nazis have much common ground.
Of course, you're free to disagree and to keep supporting the Stormfront candidate.
Here's a little fact that America's far right extremists just don't get (or maybe they do but are projecting again). Hitler didn't come to power because he was "appeased" by mamby pamby Leftists. He came to power because he was embraced, promoted and heralded by America's wealthy right wing elites, who personally financed him. You know, the Bush family, the Ford family, the Lindhbergs.
Ron Paul, again, has the courage and sanity to speak the obvious truths.
I live in Ron Pauls district and must say, that was quite interesting of Anderson Cooper. Going to every other candidate 3 times to Ronnies 1!
I am more amazed at his BLATANT disregard to the thousands of emails his studio received after the Nevada Straw Poll. He was covering the straw poll in real time on his show 2 months ago and when it was over he did not even announce the winner!
Which was Ron Paul at number 1 with 33.5% of the vote!
Yet he continues to go against the people that wrote several thousand emails to him complaining. It is obvious big media does not like him and that only furthers my resolve to put this man in office!.
I on the other hand think the debate was OK.
Ron was not on top of his game tonight.
He seemed nervous.
After they played "his" 30 second commercial, they never went to him for a respose like they did the others...He looked upset.
These Republicans have the "temperment "to upset Bundy prior to these debates.
They are one hateful group towards Ron.
He counters and wins usually, but they hate him even more. Campbell Brown basically called him a democrat, after it was over and said John Mccain won that spat with Dr. Paul.
Hes on his way out and he is broke. So is chuckles, thus the attack!
I do not mind when they ignore him because it always gains more momentum from his campaign.
They will organize now that this BLATANT disrespect was shown.
The question: " He will never be considered for the Republican nomination," has fooled the neocon's base before.
He has won 10 consecutive times in our district, and the neocons have felt the pain of his bite more times then they care to admit. Dr. Paul does not flaut this.
He is a gentleman.
He will beat them.
He knows how.
We have lived next door to the neocons for decades.
He knows how to run a campaign.
Karl Rove has said years ago Paul is not to be underestimated.
Thats because they spent a million dollars to unseat him by having a democrat jump ship and convert to Republican and he would be guaranteed to run unopposed.
Well, the only problem was, is that Ron Paul never agreed to this.
Needless to say, they were put back in their corner yet again by Dr. Paul and lost the election to him with a 15% margin, in this left leaning district.
They still refuse to talk about this MAJOR upset and just say " they cant get over what has happened to Galveston!"
It is quite funny to hear or see articles in the paper.
So, do not be fooled by this man.
He holds the power of the people. This enormous support will be seen very soon!
He is waiting for the right time.
Dr. Paul has done this before.
He is an old pro.
Watch over the next several weeks how he plays the media like a finely tuned fiddle.
They are looking the other way and do not realize the support his campaign has.
They have underestimated him again!
If they didnt, they would be engaging him making him look stupid.(like I know they could)
They are not...
They are dismissing him!
This would be serious miscalculation.
Ron Paul has many great legal minds in his campaign. He has the ingenuity of his grassroots support.
These together will gain him the respect he deserves very soon.
STAY TUNED!
BTW: the crowd and cheers were fictitious...They showed a quick clip and the audience was half the size of what one would think...All the balcony seats were empty.
The lobby after the debate probably had 150 people!
Oh the lies and misleads...
Thanks Anderson...You just made Dr. Paul another 500k tonight by ignoring him!
Keith @ 68:
It doesn't take much courage or sanity to speak obvious truths. So I'll give you that one. Beyond the obvious truths, I think the wee doctor's sanity runs out.
Rusty Shackleford @ 66:
show me where he has taken Stormfront money. show me where those contributions were marked as coming from racist organizations. unless the check has Stormfront or Vanguard on it somewhere, I can't see how he can know the political affiliation of the donors.

Disgraceful.
Roket @ 49:
The Earth is bipolar.
The "appeasement" that these wing nuts are referring to is called the Munich Agreement of 1938... And it's SUPPOSED to be an example of what happens when one continues appeasing AGGRESSIVE WAR.
Strike any bells?
Neville Chamberlain effectively GAVE Czechoslovakia to the Nazis, even though the Nazis were invading occupiers, and representatives for Czechoslovakia WEREN'T EVEN INVITED TO THE DELIBERATIONS!
In order for this example to apply in today's world, Saddam Hussein would've had to have been trying to take new real estate, which he clearly was in no position to do.
But the wingnuts don't care about accuracy, they only care about EFFECT.
Rusty Shackleford @ 73:

im sick of folks like rusty shackels throwing out garbage like "ron paul is rascist" with no basis in reality...you picked a perfect name ...i watch king of the hill and i know rusty is the name the paranoid character uses when hes "trying to throw off the government spooks" ...go hide under your bed
Censure Feinstein @ 74:
They said this about Barry Goldwater and Abraham Lincoln...
Did you know that Abraham Lincoln was a Dark Horse candidate?
I would absolutely put Dr. Paul on the same page as this man!
McCain sounds just like mean Jean Schmidt criticizing John Murhta. He uses her words almost verbatim.
What a ridiculous way to pick a president.
ROn PAUL wants to own slaves google "Ron Paul Slave owner" He's a racist bigot who wants to time travel abck to 1776. I hear that he keeps black people in his basement just so he can cane people. he is a sadistic bastard.
Zenrage @ 15:
Err the 1% with most of the money only paying around 15% taxes while the middle class pays around 22%? How is that not broken in even the most complicated of terms. They're the ones wielding power and money, and have the most of it, but they give less a percentage of their money into the system as the rest of it. That, my friend, is clearly broken. Anyone with decent common sense can see that it's not right.
*rest of us* it should say
hey daffy ...who do YOU support?
John Mccain has "anger management issues"
Zenrage @ 15:
The tax code doesn't need to be fixed????
Are you serious? The richest 10% of americans have gone from owning 23% of the countries total wealth in 1973, to owning 49% last year.
The Bush family crime syndicate has been responsible for the greatest transfer of wealth from the middle class to the rich, in the history of the world! And they did it through an regressive, unfair, immoral tax system; which took root under the Reagan administration.
And its time they paid it back! I am sick of seeing so many good people struggle just to stay alive today, while these pigs like Bush take the billions they stole from us, and move it to Dubai to avoid paying taxes.
These greedy bastards have some serious karma comming. And the best way to do it, is through a no-nonsense tax increase (tax the shit out of Bush and his corporate cronies)
on the wealthiest americans. Make it retroactive, back to day one when Bush let his criminal pals start to steal the country blind.
Deflating their outrageously disgusting portfolio's, is about the only thing that would make these evil-prick sociopath's take notice.
Rusty Shackleford @ 75:
You do not win 10 consecutive times in our district with these qualities.
He keeps the poors taxes LOW.
They love him here.
We all trust him.
He is not a racist and he will not return their campaign contribution because A.) it is leagal and B.) he would never shun ANY disobedient group...
He would accept money from the black panthers or 911 truth or code pink or peta or several hundred others.
He believes it is the role of government to protect these groups.
I agree.
He views these groups to play a vital part in our democracy.
He feels these voices should be heard and never silenced.
The government is not allowed to do this.
I agree.
Just because we may happen to disagree with a society or groups position does not mean we should silence them or make fun of them. This in itself is what causes violence. We should talk to them and show them their ways are outdated and lame or bright and insightful. He says it is the duty of the federal government to be this way because this shows our biggest, brightest vitue...
TOLERANCE!
See, once you have allowed government power to shut out one type of group, you have also given them authority to do any they wish.
Red Cross.
Sal. Army etc...Who or what would stop them...
He says never should we trust the federal government to oversee these groups...
If they are violent, then we will deal with them legally.
If they encroach on anothers liberties, the they will feel the wrath of Dr. Pauls anger at them.
He will not tolerate this type of behavior.
But he will never silence them. He views it as his job to protect them, even more so than the people at large.
He will support ANY disobedient group that is non violent and does not encroach on anothers civil liberties.
This reminds me of the film Idiocracy. It was actually a documentary. I ask, is the following exchange from the movies really any different from the bullshit here?
State of the Union Address:
President Mountain Dew Camacho: Shit. I know shit's bad right now, with all that starving bullshit, and the dust storms, and we are running out of french fries and burrito coverings. But I got a solution.
South Carolina Representative # 1: That's what you said last time, dipshit!
South Carolina Representative # 2: Yeah, I got a solution, you're a dick! South Carolina, what's up! [pumps fist, mad cheers]
This is American politics! Ron Paul is the only sane one here, I personally don't think he's a kook at all, I just disagree with him (strongly). The rest of them are flat out quacks, murderers and madmen. The only people I could support over him would be Kucinich or Gravel (Gravel's the only one I actually like). It doesn't matter: American politics and electoral system is so completely fraudulent that it must be destroyed.
cain is still in a fantasyland. Maybe the torcher he endured in Vietnam warped his brain permanently. Same sound bites and cheap crap he spews, and the baboons in the audience eat it up, as most simple neocons do.
Fact is, we are NOT winning shit over there. We have managed to move into an area in larger numbers, and area that is almost entirely segregated by genocide, and we have the thug leaders being bought off to help keep attacks on US troops down. If anyone thinks "that" is winning, then they really are some stupid neocons....even for neocons.
NO political progress, no peace for Iraqis, and certainly we are watching the thug state grow in power and might for the big show down when we finally get the f*ck out. Dense, dumb ass American repugs.
The only thing I agree with that Ron Paul says is get out of Iraq. I watched the debate until I got sick from the abundance of stupidity. And these idiots run our country. The audience was a group of idiots also. But I will be interested to watch whoever gets the nomination turn himself inside out trying to convince the 70% that want the war to end now that war must continue.
Also, that bullshit McCain said about the terrorists wanting to follow us to the USA when the war is over in Iraq is straight out of the Bush handbook. We have more home grown terrorists than any jerks from the middle east that might try to come here. And I have heard more than one idiot repeat this crap. The ignorance and lack of common sense displayed must be some sort of republican requirement.

I will admit that I do not know Hillary that well. I have not followed her because of these votes...
But more importantly, the people forget, Bill Clinto led us into more wars than ANY other president in histroy, combined!
Do not ask me to recite these, you are privy to this information. Just realize if you want more endless war and you want our economy to be ripped out from under us vote for anyone other than Ron Paul.
Another thing people do not know about Ron Paul is the fact that he considers his power to come from the people through the constitution. 97% of his campaign contibutions for his housse bids are from idividuals....That alone should speak for itself considering the big oil district we live in...(They hate Ron Paul BTW)
He considers his power to come from the people and condsiders this absolute.
He would never go against his own power source!
He knows this is how politicians and parties get defeated.
He would change any stand he has if he thought the majority of the American people stand for it.
That is why this prolifer has said, if the majority of Americans want abortion, although I disagree with this stand, they should place it in the constitution where it is protected.
He says this ruling is not protected now and can be overturned.
He says either over turn it and place it back in states court or place it in the constitution.
He has changed his stand on SS because of his base.
He hates that Americans have given the federal government trust to take care of them in old age when all government does is waste and spend and seldom does what it says.
He says we should never trust the government.
One should question continuously.
When we stop, is when we fail.
Like we have.
We must get our country back and we can use Ron Paul to do it.

At this point I'm pretty sure the rest of the world hopes we do become isolationists. All we do is export war as it is so in the interest of this planet it would be a good thing for us to just stay within our borders. At least that way we'd stop trying to bomb anyone that threatens our oil supply or our wonderful allies in Isreal.
aaron @ 96:
People are afraid of Ron...They do not know him...It is understandable...
They link him with the neoconservatives.
This would be a mistake!
That would be like linking Dennis Kucinich to a neoliberal!
They are in fact opposites of these labels.(wikipedia, NEOLIBERAL and tell me who that def. sounds like!
The people have been dumbed down...They do not know what to believe...
They will believe the support they will soon see, though!
They do not recognize truth when told...Some do, but most do not...They have America believing we are under some great threat...No one would touch us with our military capabilities.
They would die by the end of the day if a TRUE enemy targeted the US!
They will see Dr. Pauls finesse. They will see his kind, gentle manner.
They will respect him as we do down here in Galveston.
His support goes across party lines.
It is deep into America.
They see this.
They want him OUT!
He does not move so easily.
He views this as his calling, now...
He sees what duhbya has done.
He knows how to correct their injustices and their attacks on our constitution...
I hope he gets the chance to undo the damage done.
He has promised if he does, he and his team of lawyers would see to it this will never happen again to the American people.
I believe him...
This man DOES NOT lie.
He would never embarrass his family or himself...He has too much respect, besides you usually do not win with these tactics...At least it is not deserved in his eyes...
He hates duhbya for stealing the elections and has denounced the courts verdict.
I don't think we'll be seeing McCain try to pick a fight with Paul again. Ron Paul took him to the woodshed with his response to McCain's attack. The superior intelligence of Paul compared to the Fear mongering pro-war antics of McCain is very obvious. McCain gave Paul a huge boost tonight. Have you noticed the CNN debate poll results yet?
You better look soon because Ron Paul is cleaning house and the media isn't go to leave it viewable for very long and of course, we probably won't hear about it in the media.
Hmmm ... Say what you want.. Smoke and everything...
Ron Paul and Dennis Kucinich are the best their parties have to offer.
The rest are stuffed shirts...

Um, huh? Spread of Communism? Please tell me you're not going to try rewriting history by painting Hitler as a raving Communist. Don't even try going down that road because he wasn't. He was right-wing to the core, and used religion and religious language to stoke his forces and the masses. Was Poland complicit in appeasing Hitler?
Stalin didn't exactly try to appease Hitler. He tried to strike a deal with Der Fuhrer, and when he realized he'd been had, went running to the closest powers he could glom on to, namely US and the Brits. Also, not to excuse France's dumb moves, but they were pretty much surrounded to begin with, i.e. fascist Franco and Mussolini, who were already allied with Hitler, or at least largely sympathetic. Add to that a weakened mainland Britain from German bombing raids. World War 2 happened because of raging nationalism that wasn't checked. Such a thing can happen anywhere. It happened in Japan at the same time and allowed Tojo to run that place much the same way Hitler ran his. I notice nobody ever talks about the wanton destruction Japan committed on their Asian neighbors. Are you going to blame the Chinese and other mainland Asian cultures for appeasing Tojo? Were we complicit in appeasing Hitler OR Tojo?
As for France trying to appease Muslim gangsters, last I heard Sarkozy was cracking down. Also, if France is so overrun with non-French people, why hasn't the government flipped by now? Their most recent election seems to indicate the Muslim youth aren't nearly as united as you claim.
Give me a break.

ROFL This is so true.
Ron Paul is an anti-war conservative, that's positive and should be encouraged. On the other hand he's a bit paranoid on CFR and Trilateral, etc.
i like mccain less and less every time i see him. i feel bad for the guy b/c i believe his intentions are good (though, his attack on Ron Paul was just stupid) but his time is over. he should have fought harder against the bush machine in 2000, sorry he didn't, but that's that.

He will fix us, I hope it isnt too late.

i suddenly became worried today that by actively and openly supporting ron paul i am opening myself to possible scrutiny and who knows what else by the assholes who would willingly invade my privacy and perhaps wreck my life. i have nothing to hide but i did think about this today.

Hey Aaron,
I think the reason is illegal immigration. I've noticed that many that post on here are pro-illegal immigration and Ron Paul is not. A clue to this is the incorrect spelling and improper grammar used. They are most likely illegals themselves, very uneducated and/or just plain drunk off their asses. I am a strong Democrat, but let it be known and understood by all of you that being a Democrat DOES NOT mean that you are for illegal immigration. There were many republicans that voted for the amnesty bill and many Democrats that voted against it. There one candidate I'm supporting for the Democratic nominee because of my strong agreement with most of his policies, but if he doesn't get the nomination, I may be crossing the fence to vote for Ron Paul.

The reason I would not support Ron Paul is because he is a libertarian. Having voted libertarian a couple times in my youth, I now see it as a loser ideology for the vast majority of americans.
The one thing I have learned from the Bush reign of stupidity, is that with a lack of government oversight, the rich and powerful will quickly consolidate assets, turning any democracy into a plutocracy. The little guy simply cannot compete.
Historically, the rise of the middle class started through a progressive tax system (FDR) and the introduction of many governmental oversights. This produced a society that gave true meaning to the phrase "living the american dream."
Now, with the regressive tax system of the GOP, and all their deregulation, the average american is once again at the mercy of the 2nd Gilded Ages robber barons. This is where the dead-end of libertarianism leads.
Without governmental oversight for the public good, serfdom is inevitable.
The Gilded age comparison doesn't fly due to tech increasing everyone's living standard tenfold from those times.
Rusty Shackelford:
Rusty, if Paul were somehow to abolish the IRS, wouldn't Stormfront benefit from that? So would you? So I guess that makes you a racist. None of Paul's goals benefit anyone in a racist way. Is putting the Federal Reserve out of business going to starve the minority populations of the USA somehow (just the opposite)? You are equating accepting money as somehow accepting all the donor beliefs. It's a stretch that a 2-yr old can see through. Methinks your reasoning is flawed too much.

I think Hillary might be a good candidate for you, except for the part about leaving Iraq... she won't do that any time soon.

I used to be a big fan of McCain. People forget he was pretty close to switching over to the democrats when the republican party started to really go batshit crazy with the religion stuff. But McCain has really gone off the deep end ever since he dug himself in a hole with the support for the failed policy of the Bush administration and every time i hear him say bullshit like "if we leave Iraq they will follow us home" I can't be sure he actually believes it or if it's something the batshit crazy republican primary voter needs to hear.
But when McCain smacks down Mitt Romney about waterboarding and torture and reminds Mitt that this is America and we don't torture and waterboarding is torture I become a McCain fan again for that brief moment.
People (BOTH left and right) are so used to relying on the government to have a solution to everything that they are very opposed to the concept of the government leaving them alone. That is why so many lefties are afraid of Ron Paul. They don't know how life would go on without massive government intervention in everything. Any how many lefties even understand the inflation tax?
I also hear a lot of lefties say that without a HUGE government (in which we're taxed to the hilt, AND our dollar's worth goes down to ZERO), the corporations would get control of everything.
HERE's a HINT. The corporations control everything BECAUSE of BIG GOVERNMENT. They use government welfare to gain power.
Can anyone name the biggest cartel in America that the corporations of a very powerful industry created by way of government legislation?

Dear Rusty, the government runs the Stormfront type groups so they can keep those types under control. If they send money to Paul, it is a deliberate smear orchestrated by the powers that be. You might call yourself a progressive, but you are awfully immoral to smear RP with such a transparent and juvenile claim. Try being an good man first and stay the hell away from politics; it corrupts.
This is a really good, written by Michael Scheuer (recently resigned after 22 years at the CIA):
As you listen to Dr. Paul, you will hear his opponents describe him as an evil isolationist, but neither Dr. Paul nor America has ever been isolationist. Indeed, the term “isolationist” is merely a deceptive slur that America’s bipartisan elite hurls at those citizens who prefer not to waste their wealth or children’s lives in other peoples’ wars. Since its inception, the United States has been a trading nation and a country fully involved in economic, scientific, educational, and commercial affairs around the world. At its best, America has been sturdily non-interventionist, recognizing both that it has more than enough to do to expand liberty’s domain and the equality of opportunity at home, and that non-essential foreign adventures can only slow or even undo liberty and opportunity for Americans at home.

BlueIndependent @ 107:
Uh...didn't the clip we were discussing mention that?
That quotation really annoys me. Since we are entering an election year following seven years of fascist encroachment and destruction of our constitution following a coup d'etat by the Supreme Court; since our dear leader believes he was chosen by God; since many of not only have serious and justified doubts about the integrity of the electoral system - and whether elections will even be held next November; since a family proven to have supported the Nazis in WWII has directly and indirectly controlled the White House for 19 of the last 27 years, a lot of us find discussions of the Nazis and comparisons with fascists quite reasonable.
Since one candidate favorably mentioned in several comments on this thread is supported by actual modern day swastika wearing Nazis, maybe the subject is relevant.
I have been seeing that stupid quote all over the web lately. As long as fascists are running the country some of us will call them what they are. That quote is an attempt to marginalize and ridicule - to derail discussion of real life in America these days. It has happened here!
There still may be a chance to prevent the finalizing of the takeover, if elections take place next year, if they are remotely fair,if the transition actually takes place in January of 09 and - here is the big one - if we take seriously the very real likelyhood that plans have been made to prevent all of those things from taking place.

Because Ron Paul is the one who can beat Hillary. You know, the candidate that the corporate media complex has already elected and is trying desperately to put into the white house. CFR, Bilderberg the typical globalist agenda. The whole 2 party system is a joke. We have 2 candidates who are pushed through and the media tells the masses who to vote for, sure you have a small percentage who truly look at what the government is doing to this country but the majority catch a blip or two on the evening news and decide. Not to mention the scam known as the diebold machine. I probably won't vote for Ron Paul but I know this, the man is a true statesman. Above all he is a Patriot. It is completely refreshing to see such a brave and honest person who cherishes the constitution among thieves and liars. Just look around you people, you will see our rights vanishing daily and this Trillion dollar war bringing economic collapse to our country, no worries though, it will usher in the Amero and the NAU. Bush has basically made himself king decidersuperspier and is selling this country out. The documents are out there all one has to do is look. The fact of the matter is the Constitution and Bill of Rights is what keeps us free. No one has a more impeccable constitutional voting record than Ron Paul. He has never accepted a kick back and returns money to the treasury every year. They don't call him Dr. No for nothing. Our government was never meant to run the way it currently is. Rich people have taken advantage and the government is run by the corporations. That is called Fascism. Believe it.
Has anybody bothered to ask why Cheney has abandoned the dollar already? Seems to me if it was good he would be holding as much of it as possible. Wake Up!
its sad that he's taking a swipe at Dr ron paul.
mccain should just leave and stay out. if he can't even stand up to the president to outlaw torture in the senate he can't stand up to any of our enemies.

mmmkay. So the government need to oversee itself and all will be okay. WTF? They are already doing that and have screwed the pooch. Government oversight would be more like eliminate entire sections of the government. That might work. hmmm The dismantling of the middle class is what will lead to serfdom. With the devaluation of the dollar that time is near. If any of you have concern for our dollar just youtube "Ron Paul Bernanke" Paul is THE only candidate who has a grasp on what is happening to the economy. If you are into saving this country and being free Ron Paul is the vote.
I had not realized how crazy McCain had become, until I saw this debate. It seemed like he was just reaching out(as far as he could), to promote his More War ideas. Since McCain knows Ron Paul is against the Iraq War, from the beginning, he was trying anything he could.
McCain ended up looking like an idiot. I would say he's gone.
Go Ron Paul 2008.

As long as you die with us, we will be happy.

Funny, I thought the question was about taxes. How Hannity-esque of McCain.
McCain is so full of shit. He makes his little photo op tour in Iraq to drum up some badly needed supported and then he comes up with this BS. I'd just like McCain (and the other pro-war nutjobs) how is the war in Iraq protecting America from the islamic terrorists? None of the 9/11 terrorists were Iraqi (most were Saudi), there were no WMDs in Iraq and we know that the Bush administration lied it's way into Iraq (and of course people like McCain were and still are complicit in this deception). So McCain, we know you're lying asshole, you know as well as any other American that has been paying attention that this war is about oil, war profiteering and securing (conquering) the Middle East for Israel.
The jig is up! Stop your damn lying! Support the troops by bringing them home NOW!
I'll give McCain props for one thing though and that was for taking a stand against water-boarding. Everything else that came out of his mouth was a rancid turd.
"I had not realized how crazy McCain had become, until I saw this debate. I"
McCain just reminded me of Bob Dole peddling the tobacco a few campaigns ago... out of touch and selling out.
Let's not forget: This was a strictly chosen crowd, yet still Paul showed character and poise. I think there were more boos directed towards Paul on his "bring the troops home now" stance, but again, remember the people were chosen to support Bush-style "foreign policy". Looked like they emptied the local nursing homes with the front row audience. Easily frightened. Poor old things, but hell, they ask for it: They're Republicans.
I think Paul resonates with more Republicans than not, but those type of TRUE Conservatives ( or non-Neocon Republicans, which, as a true Liberal, I understand and appreciate, even if I disagree on all their policy stances) weren't invited to attend.
It is obvious: Paul is the favorite, and msm is doing all they can to isolate and marginalize him. Which is backfiring.
No, I do not like all Libertarian platforms, especially regarding "free market" Lassez-Faire government, or their idiotic fierce opposition to Universal Health care, But.
It's time for a SEA CHANGE IN AMERICA. I think we are ready. I like Kucinich/Paul in '08 Others might prefer Paul/Kucinich. That works for me, too.
BTW: It was "interesting" seeing Anderson Cooper of the CIA conduct this "debate."
"Listen to the MOCKINGBIRD, listen to the MOCKINGBIRD, da da dada da da."
As if McCain had Turkey with ALL the troops! Comical.
Post American @ 40:
Exactly, what is wrong with you people? Has everyone lost their minds? The front-running dems are are doing some of the same horrible things that the Republicans have done. Ron Paul is our only hope for turning this country around. Hilary voted for the Military commissions act. Thats enough to make me hate here forever. Fuck Hilary, she wants to take away our rights, just like Bush. And why would you want the Bush and Clinton families in the White House for 32 consecutive years??!?!?! HW from 80-88 as VP, 88-92 as Pres, Bill from 92-00, Bush Jr from 00-08, Hilary from 08-12. Is that a Democracy, or perhaps there's something more to that. WAKE THE HELL UP!
If you are opposing Paul because he is against abortion, then you are an idiot. You are doing the same thing the mindless republican base does with their pro-life stance, putting it ahead of much more important issues. I'm pro-choice, but Paul has far more positives than any candidate on either side. Ron Paul is against big government, big business, policing the world, invasion of privacy, the Federal Reserve and IRS, having military bases all over the globe, and is all about limited power for the federal government as well as the position of president. These things are necessary to stop the devastating collapse of the US, and prevent massive future wars. Abortion isn't even a real priority on his list, so women's choice isn't even threatened. He's a people politician and will do his best to uphold the constitution and let the citizens run the government. He's the only candidate on either side that fits the bill.
Everyone needs to wake up and help get this man in office in order to stop our progression in the footprints of every other major world power in history. They all became horribly corrupt and were either destroyed or crumbled on their own, we will be no different if we don't change something.
Ron Paul has been dominating online polls(if he's an option on the poll, he was removed from many of them after showing total dominance early this year) for some time now, yet the gallop poll shows him at 1%. These "official" polls are manufactured. Has anyone actually ever met a Guliani supporter? I haven't and neither has anyone I have ever met. No candidate on either side has a following like Paul, but the media has done their best to hide that. It is the best interest for both republican and democratic candidates to keep Paul quiet. Ron Paul wants big much needed change in our government. This change will give us our freedoms and power back, something that none of the big players on either side want.
RonPaulForTheLongHaul @ 143:
Precisely. Although I'm not sure even people paying attention understand that this war was fought for exactly those reasons.
Most people think Bushco there to steal their oil. Actually, they just want to have control over it so they can keep the price of oil high. Chaos in Iraq = high oil prices = record profits for Exxon. The oil industry was not able to control Saddam when it comes to price fixing.
The William Kristol pro-likud crowd were fearful that the UN sanctions would be lifted and Saddam would once again regain more power from the oil wealth.
And of course, this war is one giant corporate welfare scheme for the defense industry.
These are the three main reasons for the Iraq war.
Of course Nazis were mentioned: McCain brought it up, so anyone coherent the last 6-7 years nows he is Projecting his and Georgiepoo's own baggage and failures unto Dr. Paul.
Frankly, I could care less who it offends: neocons and Zionists act exactly like Nazis. That's why they are allies: No Conscience, and little foresight.
They are bringing the sure destruction upon themselves, by their own behavior.
Fact: Bush is from a throughly Nazi-supporting family. To this day.
Wikipedia can kiss farang's backside, make sure and smack your lips on it.
Ron Paul has the best plan for winning the war on terror.
Cutting off funds for Israel. I wish the democrats would also do the same.
