Mike's Blog Round Up
Hey folks, it's Blue Gal with another round up of blog posts you might have missed...
Street Prophets: Memo to the Democrats: you can't be pro-torture and claim to have any Christian or American values. And Mr. Huckabee, a reminder to you that Jesus was just a gol'darn liberal, bless his heart.
Gin and Tacos: War is not a sacrifice for the Neocons. Honest to God, sit back and try to picture a commercial in which the government asks Hannity's listeners to drive less.
BlueNC: Not all Presidential Candidates are alike....
Monkey Muck: Best (recaptioned) cartoon of the week...

Way to go Pastor Dan! That letter was brilliant.
Hey, my first first at C&L!
Oh, frabjous day - calloo, callay!
Why can't you get gin and taco's at your local Taco Bell
Instead of their ground up chihuahua tacos?
A gift suggestion for Wal-mas for that special republican in your life:

How about that!
All praise to the one, true Dodd. I copied this from Cheers and Jeers at DailyKos:
CHEERS to home vegetation. On today's DVD release slate: The Simpson's Movie and a new collector's edition of Blade Runner. Oh, also a flick called Balls of Fury. I assume it's a documentary about Chris Dodd.
Turkey's US-Backed Strike in Iraq. 2 hours, 59 minutes ago
The Turkish military's air strike against Kurdish rebels had the advantage of US military cooperation and intelligence.
Explains why according to reports they are hitting more innocent civilians then Kurd Rebels.
The splurge is working.
Jesus preached some liberal doctrine, but he also had a conservative side in that he demanded unwavering obedience to an all-powerful, unquestionable, infallible authority figure (aka "God").
Rusty Shackleford @ 7:
He did no such thing.
L.A. Confidential @ 8:
I could've sworn he was pretty big on the obedience thing. Maybe I'm misreading Matthew 28:18-20.
Rusty Shackleford @ 9:
No he wasn't. The elites want you to believe in obedience though. It's the only way they can continue to keep humanity imprisoned and enslaved in ignorance and fear. By making us feel "Guilty".
Thats the opposite of the message Christ was offering. Which was what made him so dangerous to the status quo of his time. Jesus wasn't out preaching that God gave some people black skin to punish them for their sins. Like the Morman Church suggests.
LOL
U.S. Helps Turkey Hit Rebel Kurds In Iraq
Intelligence Role Could Complicate Diplomacy

The United States is providing Turkey with real-time intelligence that has helped the Turkish military target a series of attacks this month against Kurdish separatists holed up in northern Iraq, including a large airstrike on Sunday, according to Pentagon officials.
U.S. military personnel have set up a center for sharing intelligence in Ankara, the Turkish capital, providing imagery and other immediate information gathered from U.S. aircraft and unmanned drones flying over the separatists' mountain redoubts, the officials said. A senior administration official said the goal of the U.S. program is to identify the movements and activities of the Kurdish Workers' Party (PKK), which is fighting to create an autonomous enclave in Turkey.
The United States is "essentially handing them their targets," one U.S. military official said. The Turkish military then decides whether to act on the information and notifies the United States, the official said.
L.A. Confidential @ 10:
Christ never suggested blind obedience over civic responsibility. He only 'offered' a way to salvation. what's most amazing about the history of man involving christ is that each and every institution demanded the blind loyalty of their followers and misused Christ's example whenever possible.
CoIntelPro @ 11:
Total Permanent War. The war mongering munitions investors are in hog heaven.
CoIntelPro @ 12:
You nailed it. And another thing is he never went out looking for "followers". People found him and the word got around this guys a cosmic genius. He was as "underground" as it gets. Teaching integrity and self empowerment in those dark days was risky business.
Still is, LA. Thanks --BG

You guys are right, but my point was merely that Jesus was an authoritarian as well as a progressive religious genius.
Whats' the difference between Jesus and a picture of Jesus?
Only takes one nail to hang a picture! HA!
(my burn in eternal hellfar joke fer the day!) ;)
kudos to Pastor Dan and everyone at streetprophets
I gotta loosen up on Bush for all the 'mistakes' he's made. We all make mistakes.
Just last week, I made a biggie. I was in Rome, and a Swiss Guard at the Vatican who's a doper friend of mine, set me up for an audience with the Pope through one of the Cardinals who's always stoned. He taught me all the protocol, and when I was bending down, pretending to kiss the Pope's ring, I slipped the Pope a nickel bag as a bribe (real good Peruvian stuff man, from LLama country, and he seemed pleased, and rattled of a bunch of words in some foreign language.
The Cardinal translated, and said, 'He granted your dispensation, so you can toke during Lent'.
See, I was planning to get together with some Catholic friends this Xmas, get a bit wasted, and see if we could settle this whole Jesus, 'god', the 'holy ghost' mish-mash once and for all,
But what do I know?! Lent isn't till February!
If I have to wait until February to get it on, I'll be all out of the good stuff. Talk about screwing up.
If you thought we were up to our ass in 'Wars', think again.
The DOA (Dentists of America) have declared a 'War on Plaque', the AFHA (American Feminine Hygiene Association) has declared a 'War on Smelly Pussies', the LHFAF (Let's Have Fun And Fu*k) has declared a 'War on Abstinence', the CBAHRCOGIH (Crazy Baptists And Holy Rollers Church Of God In Heaven) has declared a 'War on Hedonism and the Two-Step', the MFM (Mormons For Mitt) have declared a 'War on Monogamy'.
The UAD (Uppers and Downers) has declared a 'War on Yo-Yos and Huckabee', etc, etc.
If you haven't started a pet 'War', you're not gonna get your fifteen minutes. Don't you have a Pet Peeve? Get with it.
Preacher Boob @ 19:
Pffffft! Dude! WTF?!?! Talk about bonehead moves! Luckily I don't have to wait for lent, I'm a godless heathen!
Preacher Boob @ 19:
That is, seriously, a major bummer. Your posts are very creative today. Hmmm...
One thing, seriously, that is missing in our society, is Citizen ID Cards for all presidential contenders.
I swear, we're being bamboozled, and we need to get it fixed.
Some of these witless twits are obviously fakes.
But which ones?
Old H.W. Bush is rejecting Bill Clinton's suggestion that as president, Hillary would send the two of them around the world to restore the US's image.
Old H.W. said he thought 'Our world image is fine, the president's doing a great job'.
Once Hillary sees that comment, and realizes that H.W. is severely senility-challenged, and as out-of-touch with reality as his dumbest son, she'll chain both H.W. and Bill to the return rack in the White House basement bowling alley for the duration of her term.
"Jesus is too liberal for America"
Wasn't Jesus also a bleeding heart liberal.
