William "The Bloody" Makes His New Year's Predictions

icon Download | play icon Download | play (h/t Heather)

Somebody has been hitting the eggnog really hard. William "The Bloody" Kristol makes his predictions for the coming year. They would be scary if they weren't just so completely ridiculous, but at least Kristol is continuing his habit of being completely and utterly wrong.

If you read between the lines though, Kristol knows that the Republicans are in trouble. For all his bluster and bravado, his predictions point to a severely under-impressed base with their crop of candidates.

Bill Kristol must have adopted KKKarl Rove's secret mathematical fomula to consider a Republican victory possible in '08. And Dick Cheney getting the nomination? Ridiculous.

The best slip of the forked tongue was his prediction of a McCain/LIEberman 'Republican ticket.' I've been saying for some time that LIEberman's entire career has been a false flag operation.

My prognostication:

William "the Bloody" will become increasingly irrelevant with each passing day. He will, however, maintain his sinecure at FAUX News, which will also become increasingly irrelevant.

No comment. I also don't comment on the groundhog on his day, the number of leaves left in my tea cup, or whether the alignment of Pluto and the nearest black hole is going to affect my dick.

Well, we all know how his glowing predictions about how easy Iraq would be, right? Why should he have any credibility as a prognositcator at all? Oh, it's Faux News. Next question.

I've got a prediction for Mister Bill "Aren't I Just The Bestest Platonic Philosopher King, Evah" Kristol for the coming year:

"Hey, Buster Brown, you whack-job, psycho morons are going to eat your own, in public, and we're going to enjoy every minute of the spectacle of it. Couldn't happen to a better class of people, and I mean that in the nicest way, you dumb bitch."

Unaccountable power leads to tyranny and death. It doesn't much matter who wields it. In this country only conservatives have ever dared lay claim to it.

It takes two seconds for that argument to fizzle away, you can point out how conservative ideas as expressed by the nazi party in Germany leads to world wars.

I mean if we are going to use logical fallacies, we can play their same game. I see their trying to equate liberalism with communism and I raise it with trying to equate conservatism with fascism....

I'm pretty sure Reid meant himself and the rest of the enablers with "democrats". So, uh, don't ask for anything constitution related, Bush MIGHT veto it, and we're sooo weak we can't do anything but give him what he wants *rolleyes*

Murdoch is also selling off some of his under performing Fox Television stations.

Robert Bass is a Texas Oil billionaire worth approximately $5.46 billion as of 2006. He's buying some of these stations from Murdoch.

Bass was born into an extremely wealthy family with an uncle, Sid Richardson, worth $810 million. He and his three brothers Lee, Ed, and Sid Bass all attended Yale University, where they solidified their moneyed and political connections. Ed Bass was a classmate and personal friend of George W. Bush, and the brothers, especially Lee Bass, helped Bush financially both before and throughout his political career.

For those of us not up to speed (deliberately I might add) with his prognosticating efforts, could someone list a few of his most erroneous opinions and in the interest of fairness and balance, anything he may have gotten correct, if anything that fits this description in fact exists.

Homer's picture

The GOP is a faith-based organization now - the minions do what they're told, irrationally yet passionately. If they're told to hate the Dem candidate, they will, regardless of what is in their interests. In addition, Bush has shown the power of reduced expectations. Remember he came out of debates strong in both the Texas Gov. and national races because the expectations going in were so low. When he actually completed some sentences (some) people thought "hey, he's not so bad" (ignoring of course what the sentences actually contained). The GOP is dead? Nope, just the underdog. The GOP is unfortunately far from dead and the general election is far from won by the Dems. There is no time for relaxing or gloating. Its not over.

That would be the FAR more difficult list to hunt down and by FAR the shortest to list. How bout......NONE!

The only way Cheney would win with a landslide is a via coup d'etat. Frankly, I wouldn't rule it out either!

You've got to give it to Kristol. It doesn't matter how bad things look, how far detached from reality he is, how large the pile of wrong from his mouth grows, he never falters and is always on (rediculous) message.

Bookem Danno's picture

I remember reading a few months ago about somebody (Huffington?) overhearing Kristol having a phone conversation on a train. (You'll be surprised to hear that he talked a load of shit.)

Now if it had been me, I'd have gone through the train asking in each carriage if anybody there had friends or relatives in Iraq (or maybe worse). Then let them know that one of the main architects of their misery was on the train and would love to have a talk to them about why it had all been such a great idea to send (other people's) kids to kill and die in the desert.

I don't think he'd ever travel in public again.

"The GOP is a faith-based organization now - the minions do what they’re told, irrationally yet passionately. If they’re told to hate the Dem candidate, they will, regardless of what is in their interests."

That's old news. Once the Civil Rights Act, forced integration, the women's rights movement and the gay rights movement, the blue collar white male headed family unit has felt no affinity to the Democratic party. For the sake of keeping old prejudices and social oppressions intact that they feel favor them, they've thrown out worker's rights, fair taxation and basic constitutional rights.

In addition, by capitalizing on the old Horatio Alger myths of rags to riches and the cultural/religious fundamentalism that equates money with godliness, Republicans still to this day continue to keep common people voting against their own interests. From auto workers to cubicle dwellers, there's still a huge contingent of people who believe that resources are scarce, the poor are to blame for their suffering and they, just like the social Darwinists of yesteryear, believe that they will succeed, because of their inbred ability to think like and vote like Bill Gates. They believe if they are good foot soldiers for the rich, just like for Jesus, one day their number will come in, they will get that promotion and they'll be ready by God, ready to play the stock market, hedge their funds and commandeer that yacht.

I seriously doubt that any ground swell change will occur anytime soon either. The entire electorate is steeped in fantasy.

Loonie's picture

I got your new year predictions right here, Kristol. Biiiig browwwn steaming predictions.

Ray's picture

I've often thought as the election approached that the GOP could easily approach Darth Cheney. Laughs all around on the set for the suggestion of the VP being selected, but wouldn't it be so ironic if indeed there is no front runner as the convention nears and there is no solid neocon or Jim Dobson fave (remember even with all the other Christocrat endorsements, even with Huckabee he's still holding out) so...that's when late one evening, George calls his CO-Prez and says, 'Dick, your nation needs you...the nation's security depends on it.' Cheney would do it...with no hesitation. Even with all the baggage, Cheney would be the perfect fear monger, the perfect candidate to exploit the ignorance of many Americans into believing in some sort of dire consequences of not electing him. The worse scenario than this...God forbid another terrorist attack happen late in the summer causing the Prez to declare...no election because of national security...too risky. So many people would say...oh, that wouldn't ever happen, no one would let it happen...well...look at all the other things that have happened...that we've let happen. Just because there's an election in 2008, doesn't mean there will be different occupants in the WH in 2009. Sad but true. They stole 2000 in FL, they stole 2004 in OH...if there's a will, there will be a way.

You say: "Somebody has been hitting the eggnog really hard." Shouldn't you attribute that line to the person who first came up with it? That would be Juan Williams. Gus DiZerega had it right when, on the deal-with-it.org website, he said of a Weekly Standard attack on liberals by Bronco Billy: "It is a house -- no, a skyscraper -- of propaganda and lies." Kristol can't open that lopsided vagina he calls a mouth without lying. What keeps me glued to Fox Noise Sunday week after week is the chance to watch Billy the Kid so I can get a few chuckles from: (1) his lousy, Family Dollar "taste" in neckties (for one consecutive year of the program, he wore the same red and blue horizontal striped tie, leading me to the conclusion he is so anal retentive he wouldn't even shell out for a $20 necktie), (2) his sneaky glances at Snit Fume when Juan Williams is making some quasi-liberal point, (3) his smiles when Mara Liasson is making some middle of the road point, and (4) his smirks at Juan Williams when the latter (as usual) has the temerity to actually disagree with him. Want to bet Billy anesthetized house flies as a child and, using tweezers, pulled the wings off of them, then turned them loose once the dope wore off? Given just a slightly more sinister personality, he could have turned out like Jeffrey Dahmer.
