Sweet Jesus, I get a headache from watching Bill O'Reilly. How many hack arguments can you make in a single segment? In their discussion of the Elliot Spitzer escort scandal, Billo and guest Laura Ingraham employ a kitchen sink, scorched earth strategy to blame European values, left wing loons, the internet, and anything else within reach (child molestation, STD rates among teenage girls, domestic violence among others) for society today. Truly dizzying intellect. But don't think that Billo is reveling in this...it deeply disturbs him to have to show close ups of the escort service's web page with scantily-clad models. Really. But he does it because it's his responsibility to educate his viewers.
INGRAHAM: At some point, I think we all become complicit in this, and we all have a role in amplifying all of this stuff…
O’REILLY: See, I disagree with you on that. We disagree about the role of the media. My role is to educate the people on what’s happening, why it’s happening, who’s involved in it, whether the government should intervene, and you know, we don’t exploit the situation and I think if you watch the next segment coming up behind you, you’ll see that.
INGRAHAM: Well, I’ll be looking forward to watching…but I think…
O’REILLY: Look, we’re not…we’re not reveling in this. I said right at the top.

Spitzer or his family torn to pieces and I don’t like to see people delighting in it. I think that’s terrible, but it’s happening. But on the other hand you have to report the fact that here's a sitting governor, he did it, it's easy to do...
And of course, the biggest irony, Ingraham accuses certain other networks of being too afraid to note that Spitzer is a Democrat. Hmm...wonder where that idea would come from?

Pornographic video-making is legal; if both charge a third party to perform sex together, then it's legal but if one person charges the other it's illegal? Someone getting a one-night-stand for free (or after paying for dinner) is legal, but if that person pays the other person money, then it's illegal? Yet in contrast to other activities, If I decide to charge someone up front for giving them advice, that is just as legal as offering the advice for free? Insofar as I know (or can think of right now), this is the only activity for which it is illegal if charged for, and legal if free.

You are right. Prostitution can be used, even when legal, as a means to make young innocent "girls" victims. But an adult woman, who chooses and enjoys being a courtesan, is not a victim. You can even say, in that case, that the man is a victim of his own libido.
I don't need a prostitute, for I am very happily married. But, if two consenting "adults" want to make a mutually beneficial exchange, you can't stop it.
You can try. But, as they say, "the world's oldest profession."
You would need some kind of union system to protect the volunteer courtesans. There are many of them, by the way.

And funny you call Spitzer a Nazi...seems to me, your party has taken on that mantle quite nicely...an easy fit, since apparently most GOP'ers are card-carrying racists anyway. I wouldn't doubt if they were affiliated with some national organization for racists...KKK maybe? Or some other new and improved name, for the same ol bigot club.

Look, there good and bad in all phases of life, be it republican or democratic. What is perplexing to me is the dumb way the govenor's wife "stood by her man." Give me a break!!! That went out when Tammy's song fell of the chart. Cheat on me? I'd wait until he was fast asleep and then take a baseball bat to him - probably break both his legs. Maybe his arms, too. Ahhhh - satisfaction!

Anyone else notice that O'Reilly has an unusual prediliction to cover sex crimes or sexual peccadilloes in the news? He really puts his heart into it, going into great detail and repetition. The guy is creepy in so many different ways.
