Where was FOX & Wallace on the McCain/Hagee endorsement?
By John Amato Sunday Mar 16, 2008 2:02pmChris Wallace was outraged today over Obama's pastor remarks and I think it's very fair to raise the issue.
I did a Google search on Chris Wallace/John Hagee to see if he ever mentioned his name on Fox News Sunday and guess what? I didn't find a mention anywhere of this controversial---anti-Catholic---McCain endorsement. In fact, I found only one post on the FOX News website which was a video of McCain saying that he didn't have to agree with everything someone says who supports him. We know there was only a brief spot on CNN and MSNBC pretty much stayed away from it completely outside of KO. (Tweety was silent)
So, only as a media question: Why no mention of McCain and the barrage on Obama? Shouldn't they both be held to the same standard of coverage? How would Hillary have been covered by Chris Wallace if a similar story hit the news?

Please can't we stop it with the foist, frist childish crap!!!
what was the "crime" here is that the MSM focused on hagee's "catholic" statements and didn't even mention the important issue regarding is support of invading iran to begin armeggeddon and expediting the second coming of christ . . . or the eerie number of past/present politicians, including leiberman (funny he's supporting as a "man of god" like moses who insists the jews will recognize jesus as the son of god and be raptured) and john mccain.
here are two links EVERYONE should watch closely (our nation's future is cleary at stake) -- then, do as i 've been doing and flood the MSM outlets with the links along with demands that they are "fair and balanced!"::

Why no mention of McCain and the barrage on Obama?
Because pretty much everything Obama's minister said was true and embarASSing.
Shouldn’t they both be held to the same standard of coverage?
LOL! O.K.
How would Hillary have been covered by Chris Wallace if a similar story hit the news?
Same as McCain. Has the media pointed out ANY of the Clinton negatives? Nope.
Dale @ 5:
So right, McCain is a repub on board with GW and the war. Obama isn't.
Hey we went from THE super power of the world to a third world debtor nation under repub control. What say you to 8 more repub years? We should hold Fox' feet to the fire instead of just complaining amongst ourselves.
Hagee and Wright? Come on now, apples and oranges. BLACK and WHITE. Totally different. I know racism exists, but not in this case.
John...what are you fishing for here? How closely related do you think the two seperate circumstances are? McCain (who I do not endorse) has never denied his (limited) exposure to Hagee. Conversely, Obama has clearly lied about his.
We have to face the ugly truth that Obama is finished and we are just going through that process.
There is no comparison here.
As objectionable as Hagee is, John McCain got little BUT an endorsement from him. By contrast, Barack Obama has been umbilically tied to jeremiah wright for 17 years, calls him his "spiritual mentor" and literally drew the title of his book from one of wright's sermons.
And let's keep in mind how dishonest Mr. Obama is when he claims he didn't know jeremiah wright dealt in this kind of commentary. You don't attend a church for almost two decades without knowing the attitudes of the pastor who preached in that church for all those years. To claim otherwise insults our intelligence.
Now your all being silly, John Hagee is not a scary black man. That is the difference.
Slightly OT, but important

Comic relief. Thanks. Aaahahahahahahahahahaha!!!
L.A. Confidential @ 18:
Thank you, kindly.
I heard that Obama once spoke to a white woman!!
Why is the left wing media not covering this?!?!?!
Chris Wallace is wearing "outrage" because it goes with his new pink blush.
Who cares? Wright doesn't control Obama and Haji doesn't control McCain. Neither candidate has indicated that he would govern based on what these "religious leaders" say. This is exactly why religion and politics shouldn't mix.
freethinktank @ 16:
I think his mistress was changing his diaper at the time.
Because Hagee isn't McCain's "spiritual advisor" and person who brought him to Christ. Don't yell at me, I'm just quoting Obama.
Plus, Obama has given over $20,000 to his pastor's racist church, big difference.
This isn't gonna fly, stick a fork in him, Obama is done.
Please let Obama give a big speech on race tomorrow, we all know white America loves to be lectured to.
Obama broke the deal, white America would forget he's black as long as he doesn't' mention it.
Ken Berwitz @ 12:
To all of which, a rational person would say "so what?" But I understand that Republicans are not rational.
Yesterday on Fox's Sunday show they were wondering why Hillary's campaign didn't make more hay of this Obama/Wright story. I can tell them why. Her campaign didn't have to, Fox is doing it for them. Even in the midst this morning of all the talk about Wall Street, Fox was still constantly obsessing over this story.
They say that Obama was a member of Wright's church for twenty years while McCain was not a member of either of the churches whose pastors endorsed him. That's why they say the story about Obama should get more air time.
Personally, what his minister said makes no difference to me just like what all ministers say makes no difference to me. I'm more concerned about other far more important issues.
Liberal AND Proud @ 21:
NOOOOO!!!
He's going after the white women! We're all finished.
Maybe he'll use his radical, anti-American minister to convert them to Islam.
Left&Left @ 19:
Sorry Kool-aide corpse but there is very little to laugh at here. You candidate screwed a couple pooches on Friday and now you need to rethink how much more you intend to bash HRC in order to assure a GOP victory.
Liberal AND Proud @ 21:
Holy shit! That means Obama is really a white woman! Stick a fork in him, he's DONE!!!11!!!1
Thank god for these distractions. Otherwise, I might have to actually think about these candidates' actual positions on real issues. That makes my head hurt, especially when I realize that McCain, Clinton, and Obama are all essentially the same on the things that matter. I don't want to think about that, so I'd like some more high school style political distractions, please. Thanks.
joe @ 25:
I'm curious where you got that number.
Doyle @ 11:
So we know a candidate is finished when he picks up delegates over the weekend?
Simply put, Democrats are held to a higher standard. We should be proud..seriously, we should.
Are we at the bottom of the kitchen sink yet? What next? Are they going to make a big deal because Obama is half white and married to a black lady?

and can you imagine howard wolfson suggesting that obama's campaign is using the "republican" playbook to go after hillary?
what the hell is it goiing to take to wake this country up?
WOW!
THIS IS A GOOD THING:
Obamabots did not have to agonize all weekend over the Rezko disclosures. Having a racisit mentor is proving to be more politically correct here than taking money from a scumbag.
McCain is just an idiot either way.
Obama had so much going for him, but he just couldn't keep it out of the public.
From his friendships, to his pastor, his wife, and his own un-patriotism. It's cool to be that way in the NE. But some people from the south and middle states i went to school with are PISSED at all this.
We still all bleed red, white, and blue. If a foreign enemy invaded our land, as much as we are against the Iraq war, we have been through too many social studies classes to stand by and watch that happen.
It's important to be patriotic, but you don't have to be stupid, like McCain and his Iraq stance.

Rusty Is the New Black Shackleford @ 26:
Republicans AND Independents won't vote for Obama. Not gonna happen. It's over.
There are two possibilities left: The superdelegates will vote for HRC and HRC will be president, or Obama will be nominated and McCain is gonna be POTUS. It is absolutely, completely, totally impossible for Obama to win the general election now that this has happend.
The only way for him to make this right is to aquire a time machine and to undo this 17 years.

It would not surprise me at all.
I'm just guessing here but I think many more Americans are worried about debt, foreclosures and their day to day expenses than they are about what Obama's minister said in the pulpit.
Rev. Wright was talking to his congregation and his congregation was receptive to what he was saying. That's what ministers do. They aren't politicians.
To be honest, I agreed with some of what he said in the clip I saw and heard. He was far closer to the truth than Pat Robertson and Jerry Falwell when they blamed 9-11 on gay people among others.

Dr. Hussien Matt @ 55:
Wait... What's his middle name?
I don't see how Hillary Clinton can win this election at all.
If she goes into the convention with fewer delegates than Barack Obama and, through whatever means, gets enough super-delegate support to win the nomination, she will infuriate and alienate untold numbers of Obama supporters, especially among Black voters.
It stands to reason that they will react by either not voting for president at all or writing in Barack Obama's name. A few might even vote Republican in protest.
And if Clinton loses an appreciable part of this vote - again, especially the Black vote - it is a virtual impossibility for her to win.
For example, Pennsylvania is a likely Democratic state. But if you take away, say, 10-15% of the Black vote (probably more) from Philadelphia and Pittsburgh, is it still Democratic? Of course not.
The same goes for Cleveland and how it ends her hope of winning Ohio. Ditto for Newark, Trenton and Camden sending New Jersey (which should be a no-brainer blue state) to McCain. Then there is Detroit....but you get the picture.
So even if Clinton were to secure the nomination, I can't find any realistic way for her to be elected.

I frankly have no idea what's going to happen next, and I usually do. But with so many indicators flashing red this year all I can say is the future looks incredibly messy and uncertain.
The only thing I can say for sure is, if anyone thinks the public will want John McCain to protect them from Jeremiah Wright more than they want out of the financial blender of the Bush Economy, they've got to be out of their fucking minds. Bush & Co. seem to have been unable to keep the train from jumping the tracks before the election after all. I'm not crowing with delight because I very likely am going to get caught up in it at some point -- I'm a working slob like almost everyone else in America. By your "we" reference am I to think you are a Obama supporter? Because Obama supporters are generally well educated and can decide for themselves to research a candidate or put all their faith in a very short biased video clip from October 2001. Go back to October of 2001, there were a lot of people saying a lot of stupid things, doesn't mean everyone believed him. I think there was someone claiming that Saddam had WMD and could nuke us in 45 minutes. WOW.
Lesson of this story: Obama is unbeateable - HRC getting scared that maybe the nomination is not going to be handed to her on a platter - and even worse - that she may lose to a black man! Oh the humanity!

Also, nobody is accusing BO to be racist. But the question is, how the quality of his judgement is if he chose a certified racist to be his spiritual mentor for 17 years. BO said that this race wasn't about experience but judgement. We do not know how he would have voted if he would have been already a senator at the time of the iraq war vote. What the oafs in the HRC rah-rah camp, the rightwingnut media gasbags and posters like Doyle would have us believe is that we are all responsible for the future actions and sayings of our friends and associates. According to these MENSAites, you should not choose your friends by the actions they have shown you and by the deeds they have done, but rather by the things they will do in the future.
In other words, they are insane people grasping at straws.
I for one agree with everything Wright said.
I do believe that America damned herself (as a country) when we willfully with a bloodthirsty joy decided to stage "pre-emptive" war against Iraq, a country who had not attacked us, and who posed no threat.
We were Goliath, and we went into the Middle East to beat up David, like a nation of coWards and bullies.
We damned ourselves when we sacrificed our Civil Liberties for the illusion of safety.
Now we have neither safety nor our Civil Liberties, and we stood by as King George first spit on the founding stone of our Democracy, Habaeus Corpus.
We damned ourselves when we let the poor in New Orleans drown, and sent lifeboats and gift baskets to the Oil Robber Barons who were already reaping record windfalls.
We damned ourselves when we allowed Abu Ghraib to fester on as a living wound, and further damned ourselves when we as a country parsed "torture" - using the same techniques that we successfully prosecuted the Germans and the Japanese for in the last war that America participated in that had any merit whatsoever.
We damned ourselves in these and many other ways, and anyone who disagrees with this has a log in thier eye so large as to make our national (dwindling) forests green with envy.
If Obama had been born with the color skin of his mom, what would the right say then? That he was a black man trying to sneak in with white skin?

IF the Obama supporters are sooooo irrational and/or inmature as to

HAHAHAHAHA See what trouble you can be in?
2fargone @ 123:
Guess you know that you are calling millions and millions and millions of voter a "disgrace"
right? Pretty judgemental aren't you?
Democrats with questionable ties paint themselves in a corner
They're a bit like me with my reputation.
If I told a joke like Redd Foxx and Richard Pryor
It would surprise everyone
Not only because I'd actually be funny.
No. 44 @ 47:
Indeed it would...the right would probably implode at that point.
You silly goose...McCain isn't a member of Hagee's church. Using your logic, if David Duke endorses Obama, we should crap all over little Barack. Foolish.
Pol Pot-O-Cheesesauce @ 104:
That was certainly fecesious of you.
Doggiebobo @ 129:
What was the final number of voters that were credited with voting for Bush-----TWICE.

Bucky @ 132:
Well rash limpballs and (m)ann colter endorsed Hillary.
We just laughed.
Michael Meyer @ 116:
and they will DAMN AMERICA AGAIN IN DOING SO!
Michael Meyer @ 116:
You should check out the vote totals if you think McCain has a prayer of winning an unfixed race:
Popular vote so far:
Democrats 28,190,088
Republicans 17,246,362
Nearly 2 out of every 3 ballots has been cast for a Dem.
Left&Left @ 49:
Geez, you're being kind of harsh. Aren't we supposed to be working together? My advice to everyone on this website (except Repub trolls) is to try to figure out how we get the White House. That's what matters. We have to unite again or we are screwed. Think about it.
ConcernedHusseinCanuck @ 134:
You nailed it. That's exactly my point...let's fight/be critical/and sling our negative
thoughts towards McCain(the Repug nominee) and not be doing the same within our
Party regardless of who you/I/we support.
Left&Left @ 49:
Is that why Hillary keeps winning the debates?
MarcyJ @ 139:
I am cynical. When you say "we" are you implying that the Democrats are the party of the people? Last I checked, no Dem has considered the will of the people AFTER being elected.
Doggiebobo @ 140:

The Power of Negative Thinking?
Pete @ 124:
There would be many who vote for HRC because of the economy. They hate HRC, but the fear of the economy is bigger. But the Reverend choice of Obama is making it impossible for many of them to vote for him.
And swift boating will be remembered in a years time as a gracious treatment of a dem nominee. Reverend Wright will be the defining inofficial background topic of the general election.
Doggiebobo @ 129:
FUCKING RIGHT I'M JUDGEMENTAL! i've been awake for the past 30 years paying attention and informing myself and protesting injustices instead of voting for idiots and watching american idol and foxnews. i have suffered through their ignorance and watched my country disintegrate before my very eyes while they still believe everything bill o'reilly and pat robertson spew at them. i have earned the right to cast judgement.
and YOU should wake the fuck up and beging educating yourself on the things that i KNOW and not worry about other's judgements until you are qualified to do so.
Doggiebobo @ 140:
But all those voters in the last two elections did not consider themselves Republican. I gotta say one thing, there are going to be one helluva lot of disappointed people including on here, after the next election if the Dems win it. There is no way any president could fix the mess in 4 years, and the electorate are not patient enough to give two terms. Unless there is one pile of luck after the election, by 2012, the Dems will be squashed at the polls. The world is up for "instant" fixes that don't exist.
Bucky @ 132:
George W. Bush's pastor thinks that a 2,000-year-old zombie is going to clap his hands and condemn billions of people to a thousand years of misery. Sounds batshit crazy to me.
Bet you voted for him twice, too.
ConcernedHusseinCanuck @ 142:
I do mean Dems. I'm sorry you're cynical and I don't blame you but we CANNOT let McCain take the White House. When I say we will be screwed, what I meant to say is TOTALLY FUCKED!!!!
nsr @ 138:
The republicans did not vote because they did not like the choice they had. The dems did vote because they liked very much what they saw.
Reverend Wright will be an incredible revitalisation of the republicans.
Michael Meyer @ 144:
No it won't. But keep hoping.

Well I've gone to my share of protests, I'm ex-Air Force, Top Secret Clearance, Political Science and Paralegal Degrees where I graduated Deans List, Phi Theta Kappa, Golden Key Honor Society, and Cum Laude
But now's not the time to talk about my sexual habits.
MarcyJ @ 139:
Yes, I am harsh. In 2000 and 2004 I watched what happened to passive Democrats. When trolls(some pretending to be progressive) come to this site with outright lies divisive bullshit, I'll call them out on it. Judge me by the merit of my argument. If we honestly are "screwed" I'm going to fight the lies and bullshit. You do things your way.
